Teaching from Hebrews 11: 1 - 2, Dion van Breda reminds us that faith that doesn't act isn't really faith at all. But when our foundation is Jesus, we can stand even when the storms of life rage against us.Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for.Hebrews 11: 1 - 2 (NIV)
Hebrews 13:8-16
In this sobering conclusion to the "Kingdom Now" series on the Sermon on the Mount, Pastor Karl closes Matthew 7:21–29 with Jesus' urgent call to authentic, obedient faith. He recaps the narrow gate—Jesus Himself as the exclusive way to the Father (John 10:9)—requiring self-denial and kingdom priority, a path few find because truth is non-negotiable. The terrifying warning follows: Not everyone who says "Lord, Lord" will enter the kingdom—only those who do the Father's will. Even miracle-workers may hear, "I never knew you; depart from me," underscoring that salvation demands an intimate, mutual relationship: truly knowing Jesus and being known by Him, not superficial confession or religious activity without heart surrender and obedience.Pastor Karl illustrates this with the parable of the wise and foolish builders: Everyone hears Jesus' words, but only doers build on the rock. Storms are certain—far beyond our strength—and they reveal the unseen foundation. Lives built on anything else crumble with great destruction. Hearing or studying the Word isn't enough; we must be doers (James 1:22) for transformed, fruitful lives. He shares the powerful story behind "I Have Decided to Follow Jesus," born from Nokseng's martyrdom in India, declaring unwavering commitment amid tragedy: "No turning back… though none go with me… the cross before me, the world behind me."The message ends with Jesus' astonishing authority as the Word incarnate and a solemn challenge: Will you follow—not with lip service, but with total devotion through the narrow gate? As the congregation is invited to stand and sing the hymn only if they can declare it personally, Pastor Karl urges genuine surrender, heart examination, and reaching out for prayer to confirm a true decision to follow Christ. A grace-filled, convicting call to move from profession to possession, building on the only foundation that endures the storm.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 8:00am, 9:30am & 11:00am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

The Power of the Resurrection (Mark chapter 16 verses 1 through 8) Join Dallas and Carlos as they dive into the opening verses of Mark 16 to discuss the most significant event in history. They examine the devotion of the women who arrived at the tomb, the cultural weight of the Sabbath laws, and the profound implications of the empty tomb for every believer. This episode highlights the call for men to step into spiritual leadership and the beautiful grace shown in Peter's restoration. Listen as we discuss: - The faithfulness of Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome as they prepared to honor Jesus despite their grief. - A challenge to men to reject passivity and embrace the responsibilities God has given them in the home and the church. - The role of discipline and doing what is right, even when it is not immediately rewarding or convenient. - The theological necessity of the resurrection: proving Jesus is exactly who He said He was. - How the resurrection provides "newness of life," allowing the old self to die so we can rise as new creations. - The specific mention of Peter by the messenger signals God's heart to restore those who have turned away. - The historical authenticity of using women as the first witnesses in an ancient culture which adds credibility to the Gospel account. ==========
Today we're trashing feminism some more, because it obviously deserves it. Feminism is not only unbiblical, it's extremely destructive for all of society. We'll talk about why Christian podcasters like Allie Beth Stuckey shouldn't defend their feminism while claiming to follow Christ, and why Christianity itself is a patriarchy, by God's design. It's time for biblical men to stop waiting for permission from feminists and take back the authority God gave them. We'll also discuss more of the Trump administration's mistakes, including this ridiculous new 50-year mortgage idea that proves how far from wisdom our leaders have fallen.

Engage with scripture readings, heartfelt devotionals, and collective prayers that draw you into the heart of God's love. Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible podcast! On this very special September 23rd episode, we celebrate an incredible milestone—12 years of journeying through the Scriptures together. Host Hunter kicks off with heartfelt gratitude for everyone who has walked alongside him since those early days in Cincinnati, Ohio, as we gather daily to encounter God's love and let the Bible shape our hearts. Today, we continue our adventure with readings from Daniel 11–12, diving into prophetic visions of kingdoms rising and falling, angelic messengers, and the promise of hope for those who stay steadfast to the end. Then, we turn to Luke 6, where Jesus challenges us to go deeper in our faith—not just with words, but by building our lives on the solid foundation of his love, showing compassion, forgiveness, and kindness even to our enemies. Alongside powerful scripture readings and thoughtful reflections, Hunter leads us in prayer, invites you to connect through the show's newsletter, and gives a special shoutout to some of the faithful supporters who make this ministry possible. Whether you're new to the Daily Radio Bible or have been here all 12 years, this episode is filled with encouragement to dig deep, lean into God's presence, and remember—you are loved. Let's go forward in God's joy, together. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Go deep. That's the invitation Jesus offers us today, and it's a word we all need—maybe now more than ever. In our reading, Jesus teaches not just about outward confession, but about digging down, laying a solid foundation, building on bedrock. He tells us plainly: It's not the words "Lord, Lord" that will keep us when the storms come, but a life anchored to Him, the Rock. He's urging us to look past the easy answers, past the surface, and find our life hidden with God in Christ—rooted, unmoved, secure. Jesus sees the poor, the hungry, the sorrowful, and the persecuted. He blesses them. He says there's something below the pain, deeper than the adversity: Himself. In our desperation, in our longing for something firm to stand on, He's there—faithful, steadfast, present. Going deep is not simply a matter of saying the right prayers or showing up at church; it's a daily surrender, a willingness to build our lives on the foundation of His love, mercy, and abiding presence. Storms will come. Floodwaters rise and beat against all of us, but Jesus promises that if we root ourselves in Him—if His words become not just something we hear, but something we live—we will stand. His deep, deep love is the strength beneath it all, enough to hold us together, enough to bless our house, enough to see us through. It is Christ Himself, alive in us, that is our true foundation. In exchange for our anxieties and striving, He gives us His life, His power, His presence. That's where blessing is found. Let's accept the invitation to go deep today. Let's seek Him not only with our words, but with our hearts and lives. Let's let the love of Christ be the bedrock underneath everything we are and do. And may we remember: in Him, we are held, secure, and blessed. That's a prayer I have for my own soul. That's a prayer I have for my family, for my wife and my daughters and my son. And that's a prayer I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen. Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen. The foundation of faith begins with recognizing that, through Christ, we have been made partakers of the divine nature and freed from the corruption of sin. True faith—personal trust in Jesus' death and resurrection—leads to salvation by grace and a transformed life, which we are called to actively grow by supplementing our faith with godly qualities.

Jesse Cope explores how America's foundation of faith in God and Jesus Christ is essential for maintaining liberty and how virtue must be developed alongside physical capabilities for communities to thrive.• Making time for God should be our first priority each day if we claim to be Christians• Marriage requires spouses to put each other second only to God, with mutual commitment and selflessness• Biblical teachings on sex and marriage from 1 Corinthians 7 establish clear principles often neglected today• The church must stand against "no-fault divorce" with the same conviction it opposes other unbiblical practices• Historical examples show how free societies require citizens with strong moral character to maintain order• Militia training and self-defense capabilities must be developed alongside virtue, not in place of it• America's founding leaders began the Continental Congress with prayer, recognizing divine guidance as essential• Robert Winthrop's warning that societies must choose between "the Bible or the bayonet" remains relevant todayMake time each day to read God's word, pray, and allow His principles to guide your actions. Remember that America's future depends not just on our physical strength but on our moral character and relationship with God.Support the showThe American Soul Podcasthttps://www.buzzsprout.com/1791934/subscribe

Holiness is a big scary church word. This week at Maplewood, we're focusing on what it means to lay down a foundation of faith. Join us as we bring some practicality to the concept of what it means to "be holy."
Sometimes, at a certain age, devotees wonder, "Am I really going to be a devotee? What about the rest of the world? What about my other opportunities and so forth?" These thoughts are all going through a person's head. Jhanavi Jivan talks about how she and her family went to Sharanagati. You know where that is: it's a farm up in Canada, not too far from Vancouver, I believe. And it's a big devotee farm, obviously. Living there was a very famous sādhvī, a female sādhu. Her name was Yamunā Dāsī. She was one of Prabhupāda's earliest disciples, a very famous devotee not just for singing but also for cooking, and most of all, known for her guru-niṣṭhā. She was determined to serve her guru and totally fixed in service to the lotus feet of Śrīla Prabhupāda as her eternal spiritual master. So she, like Caitanya Mahāprabhu, who describes in the Caitanya-caritāmṛta, had the assets of a sādhu. And what do sādhus have? According to Caitanya Mahāprabhu, they have hymns and instructions. And they're doctors. You know, doctors carry a little black bag. What do they have inside? For the devotee doctors, they have hymns - mantras and also have instructions - how to work the mantra. So when they went and stayed at the home of Yamunā Dāsī, Jhanavi Jivan describes how after a few days of watching this sādhvī, this devotee who was fully dedicated, she never stopped chanting. She was always engaged, always praying to Kṛṣṇa, offering to Kṛṣṇa, teaching how to cook—everything about Kṛṣṇa. In that environment. When she came out, she got into the car. They were leaving. She was sitting in the back seat, and it came through her in a visceral way. She could feel it through her whole body, up her spine, throughout her system that, "I've met the person who's my ideal in life. I want to be like her. I want to be a devotee." And this is the power of association with sādhus. They give us the most valuable asset, which is śraddhā, faith in Kṛṣṇa, that "if I become like this, then I'll be perfect. If I could just be like this person, then everything will be good in my life. I'll be fully satisfied and happy. I want to be that person, I want to follow in his or her footsteps and become a devotee." So this is the most valuable asset. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Today on the podcast, I'm addressing a topic that weighs heavily on the mind of every faith-filled divorced parent: how will my divorce affect my children? How can I help them stay faithful to the Gospel after my divorce? This subject comes up often when I'm working with my clients. It's a big concern for parents even considering divorce. Many people say they stay in unhappy, unhealthy marriages for the sake of their children because they believe it's better for them to be raised in a home with both parents, even if it's an unhappy, unhealthy one than to go through a divorce. So, I will shed some light on this subject and share ideas to help you navigate this challenging situation with hope, faith, and confidence.
