WDFI: Musical Experience of Black Chicagoans
Knocking speakers with beats from beatmakers WORLDWIDE!!!
This episode is dedicated to the the lovers, couples and married ones that create a 'Quiet Time' Let this be the soundtrack for that moment.
Amriki Aswad: My first experience buying reggae music was going into a shop, seeing the name 'Sanchez' in the reggae section. I thought it was odd seeing a Spanish name in that section the store. I took a chance on it. Once I played it half the album was Lover's Rock covers of R&B music. I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!! This is dedicated to Sanchez and all the other singers that cover songs in Reggae fashion.
This show is dedicated to the mothers, adoptive mothers, single mothers, stepmothers and grandmothers. May your day be filled with light and love This podcast show was inspired by the crew watching the news; local and nationally syndicated. Watching it with a hard critique that is. Whether the ghettos of the US, the Caribbean or Africa, there were rarely any programming displaying the reasons why things happen, messages of hope, or positivity. Even in most current genres of Black Music one would hear negativity, materialism, lust, or longing for love. This set me off to do a little crate (internet) diggin’, showcasing music from the diaspora. Artists address inappropriate morale behavior due to urban living, songs of hope, and positive suggestions toward positivity. ‘There is 2 sides to a coin!’ We hope you enjoy this series of shows, as it was enjoyable to create. 'A Story, A Message' is the flagship series of WDFI.

Amriki Aswad: Sometimes us older heads and elders are a little tough on the young lions coming up in regards to music. The truth is they are a reflection of us. So, running with that line of thought I sought after the slow jams of today that is a reflection of the past.
