Here are a few comments that come from Śrīdhara Svāmī—the great Bhāgavata commentator from antiquity—on the verse 'bhayaṁ dvitīyābhiniveśataḥ syat.' He gives a comment about why knowledge alone cannot remove fear. He says, "If fear comes from ignorance (this is the question someone might pose), shouldn't knowledge alone remove it?" He points out that the Bhāgavata's answer is that māyā is not merely ignorance; it is a personal, active potency (duratyayā). Therefore, intellectual correction is insufficient. He explains why "ahaṁ brahmāsmi" can reduce suffering temporarily, but without positive shelter, fear returns. Fear ends not when identity is negated, but when identity is anchored in Kṛṣṇa. So, besides understanding one's constitutional position—which is essential, mamaivāṁśo jīva-loke jīva-bhūtaḥ sanātanaḥ manaḥ-ṣaṣṭhānīndriyāṇi prakṛti-sthāni karṣati that verse (BG 15.7) came to mind as you mentioned how we struggle with the mind. We are parts and parcels of Kṛṣṇa; we are always connected to Him. But then, we struggle with the six senses and the mind. When one gets knowledge of ahaṁ brahmāsmi and the information of one's relationship with Kṛṣṇa, and a process through which one can repair that relationship. Śrīla Prabhupāda describes this in the purport from the Bhagavad-gītā: ādau śraddhā tataḥ sādhu-saṅgo 'tha bhajana-kriyā tato 'nartha-nivṛttiḥ syāt tato niṣṭhā rucis tataḥ In the beginning, there must be an awakening of faith (ādau). That generally comes by association with devotees who plant the seed of faith in the heart, because there is a natural way in which we pick up the qualities of those with whom we associate. Pure devotees—those fully dedicated to Kṛṣṇa—carry a certain potency within their heart, as described by Yudhiṣṭhira to Vidura (SB 1.13.10): bhavad-vidhā bhāgavatās tīrtha-bhūtāḥ svayaṁ vibho tīrthī-kurvanti tīrthāni svāntaḥ-sthena gadābhṛtā He told Vidura, "You are a walking tīrtha because you carry the Supreme Personality of Godhead within your heart." The meaning of that—since everyone carries the Supreme Personality of Godhead within their heart—is that the devotee has love for Kṛṣṇa within his heart. Therefore, coming in contact with such a person, one is able to perceive the goal of life. Even if not intellectually, one feels it: "This person is trustworthy. I can surrender here because the person has no material motive." That is an observation many people had upon meeting Prabhupāda. People have said many times, remembering their connection with him, "He saw right through me. I felt at that time that he saw my soul," or, "He wasn't judging me; he was only giving me mercy and compassion." Vláda Andreje Babiše startuje změnu financování, která by podle kritiků mohla vést k jejich faktickému zestátnění. „Jsme v nejsložitějším období, jaké za 30 let v televizi pamatuji,“ říká k tomu šéfredaktor zpravodajství ČT Michal Kubal.„Kdybych měl charakterizovat atmosféru v redakci, tak bych řekl: napjaté očekávání a velká odhodlanost. Očekávání, co vůbec přijde. Vlastně jediné, co víme je, že se aktuální systém snaží vládní koalice rozbourat. A zároveň velké odhodlání bránit principy, na jejichž základě funguje veřejná služba už desítky let a které se snažíme každodenně naplňovat ve vysílání naší prací,“ říká s emocemi v hlase Michal Kubal, který byl hostem nejnovějšího dílu podcastu Mediální cirkus.Aktuální šéfredaktor zpravodajství ČT, jeden z nejviditelnějších moderátorů České televize a celoživotní novinář Kubal přišel na rozhovor jen pár dní poté, kdy se koaliční rada vlády Andreje Babiš shodla na tom, že chce zrušit systém koncesionářských poplatků a veřejnoprávní média chce od ledna 2027 financovat ze státního rozpočtu.„V posledních dnech v redakci probíhá opravdu intenzivní diskuze o tom, jak k tomu přistoupit, jakým způsobem zvednout hlas. Samozřejmě se pohybujeme na velmi tenké hranici, protože novináři ze své podstaty by měli být neutrální, neměli by se zapojovat do podobných věcí. Na druhou stranu jsou určité principy, za které stojí za to bojovat i jiným způsobem a myslím si, že právě tohle je ta věc, která bude naprosto zásadní,“ popisuje. Mohlo by podle něj dojít i ke stávce, tak jak si pamatujeme velkou televizní stávku v roce 2000?„Odhodlání v redakci je velké. Odhodlání bránit princip svobodné novinařiny, svobodné žurnalistiky, na jakou jsme zvyklí v těch posledních desítkách let, je zásadní. A myslím si, že pokud by to skutečně došlo do krizové situace, tak i k tomu by mohlo dojít,“ připouští Kubal a dodává:„Televizní stávka a televizní krize v té době je jednou z příčin toho, proč máme v téhle zemi tak silná veřejnoprávní média.“Kubal je v tuhle chvíli první člen širšího managementu televize, který se do veřejné debaty o veřejnoprávních médiích pustil. Generální ředitel ČT Hynek Chudárek sice v týdnu poslal interní vyjádření pro zaměstnance televize, veřejně ale mlčí a politickým plánům neoponuje. Kvůli komiksu Zelený Raoul se s nimi kdysi soudil Jiří Paroubek, kvůli karikatuře na obálce to stejné dělal Tomio Okamura. Přesto si z politiků utahují dál. „Nejlépe prodávají časopis,“ říká šéfredaktor Reflexu Martin Bartkovský.„Tomio Okamura je samozřejmě Pitomio a my všichni to můžeme říkat. Jak konstatoval soud, musí snést vyšší míru kritiky. Navíc to, kdy jako první věc ve funkci předsedy Sněmovny podrží štafle, aby někdo jiný sundal ukrajinskou vlajku, která se mu nelíbí, je podle mě krystalickou ukázkou chování někoho, komu by se dalo říkat Pitomio,“ vysvětluje Martin Bartkovský, šéfredaktor časopisu Reflex, který byl hostem nejnovějšího dílu podcastu Mediální cirkus.Právě vyobrazení Tomia Okamury jako klauna s nápisem Pitomio je asi nejslavnější obálka Reflexu. A to i díky následnému soudnímu sporu.Vyšla 7. listopadu 2012 v době, kdy se Okamura stal senátorem a pracoval na znásobení známosti svého jména tím, že kandidoval v prvních přímých prezidentských volbách. Po vydání karikatury dal Okamura na Reflex žalobu. Tu ale po mnohaleté soudní tahanici předloni definitivně prohrál.Na obálce fungují Babiš, Zeman a OkamuraČasopis Reflex vychází v Česku už 35 let a na výrazných titulních stranách si zakládá.„Fungují čeští politici. Byla doba, kdy vládl Andrej Babiš s Milošem Zemanem a do toho tam jako třetí vzadu pobíhal Tomio Okamura nebo komunisté, o které se vláda tehdy opírala. Tam stačilo kohokoliv z téhle vlády dát na obálku a hned tam prodeje byly. Dneska už to takhle není,“ říká šéfredaktor Bartkovský. „Filip Turek a jeho volební blitzkrieg v eurovolbách zafungoval velmi dobře. Motoristé fungují. I Andrej Babiš. Funguje i prezident Petr Pavel a vždycky funguje Volodymyr Zelenskyj. Stejně tak Vladimir Putin nebo Donald Trump, ale to jsou jediné zahraniční persony,“ popisuje Bartkovský taktiku při výrobě titulních stran.Vůbec nejúspěšnější titulní strany Reflexu za rok 2025 se ale nakonec politiky vůbec netýkaly. „Byly to obálky in memoriam našich dlouholetých spolupracovníků. Tím jedním byl psycholog Cyril Höschl a tím druhým byl šéf karlovarského filmového festivalu pan Jiří Bartoška,“ dodává Martin Bartkovský.Ten se šéfredaktorem Reflexu stal v prosinci 2023, po půl roce nejistoty ve vedení časopisu. Před ním ho řídil Marek Stoniš a časopis se často dostával na hranu kritiky za texty a titulky zavánějící někdy až xenofobií.„Kvůli obálce s černým Hitlerem chtěla odejít polovina redakce. Občas už jsme byli prostě zbytečně zlí. Vtipné je být vtipní, satiričtí, jízliví, ale když jste vyloženě zlí, a dávali to vědět i čtenáři, tak to vtipné není,“ říká Bartkovský a naráží na titulní stranu s portrétem Adolfa Hitlera coby černocha s monstrózním afro účesem, která vyšla v roce 2020.Babiš jako Slabiš. Nevíme, z koho si utahovat dřívS novou vládou je podle Bartkovského stále těžší si z ministrů dělat legraci, protože v redakci neví, koho karikovat dříve.„Je to vlastně bezprecedentní situace, kdy byste mohli každý týden udělat na každého člena vlády jednu obálku, tedy kromě těch členů SPD, kteří nic neříkají. Ale ti ostatní jsou velmi plodní,“ žertuje novinář s tím, že na obálce tento čtvrtek by chtěl mít Andreje Babiše. „Bude na té obálce jako Slabiš, bude se opírat o Macinku s Turkem a Okamurou a bude se snažit udělat Česko lepší, nejlepší zemí na této planetě,“ směje se Bartkovský.I humor má ale v Reflexu hranice.„Nemáme hranice v tom, z kterého politika si udělat legraci, ale nechceme si dělat legraci ze všedních lidí, obyčejných Čechů, z někoho, kdo se nemůže bránit. My si vždycky děláme legraci z lidí, kteří mají nějakou moc nebo mají pocit, že drží nějakou moc a my je chceme trošku uzemňovat,“ říká šéf oblíbeného časopisu.Co čeká od vlády Andreje Babiše? Using rich metaphors—from ER triage to math progression to “ESPN tickers from hell”—they walk you through how to seed need from the very beginning, how to recognize when couples are truly ready (double greens), and how to move from hypothetical “someday” needs to live, in‑the‑room Step 7 enactments. Episode Highlights - Why “need” is both central and dangerous - Secure attachment = meeting needs through responsiveness and caregiving. - But in Stage 1, asking “What do you need?” usually invites blame and negative model of other (“I need my partner to do their work”). - The developmental order: don't jump to trigonometry - Needs work in Step 7 is like trig/calculus; Stage 1 work is basic math. - You can't skip the progression: tracking the cycle, working blocks, primary emotion, softening/acceptance, then deepest need. - Seeding need long before Step 7 - Use language like, “This is what your heart needed here…” throughout Stage 1. - By the time you explicitly go for need, it should have been seeded dozens of times. - Double green lights and safety conditions - Only consider Step 7 when both partners are “double green”: open, present, non‑reactive. - This is the one place Ryan will not enact into a block; the caregiving response must be highly likely to land. - Pre‑7: loading reluctance to reach - Use a “7A / pre‑seven” move: enact the fear of reaching (“In this place I feel so gross, I don't deserve comfort”). - This both crystallizes the sufferer's dilemma and awakens the caregiver to what's really at stake. - How to actually load the need - James' path: - Strong use of self (embody and mirror pain). - Slow, detailed evoking in the body (“Where do you feel this right now?”). - Gentle curiosity: “If we could listen to that part of you, what would it cry out for right here, right now?” - Ryan's path: - Use guided hypotheticals (e.g., next Tuesday in the kitchen after a bad day). - Ask, “Your partner really sees you in that place and comes to you—what would they say or do that would ease this pain?” - Then re‑enter the present so it becomes an in‑the‑room enactment, not just a fantasy. - From hypothetical to live Step 7 enactment - The key is reentry: “Can we let that need be here now, in your body, in this room? Could you turn and ask your partner for that right now?” - If it stays hypothetical (“It would be nice if someday you could…”), it's not Step 7.Using attachment history as a compass - Draw on earlier assessment work: - Who felt safe? - How did people respond when you were in pain? - What would you say now to the younger you who was hurting? - Those answers often preview the exact Step 7 need (e.g., “You're okay, buddy, just like you are”). - Normalizing “I don't know” and therapist awkwardness - “I don't know what I need” is not a block; it's exactly where years of defense have left them. - Therapists don't have to be smooth; they have to be slow, thoughtful, and present. - A caregiver saying, “I don't know what to say, but I'm here,” can be a beautiful A.R.E. response. - Training and community notes - Core Skills 3 & 4 in Huntington, WV (Jan 15–17, 2026). - Externship in Virginia Beach, VA (Sept 15–18, 2026) with repeaters at 50% off. Bulharsko vstoupilo do nového roku s novou měnou. Své leva vyměnilo za euro a od 1. ledna se stalo 21. zemí eurozóny. Rozrostl se tak počet Evropanů používajících euro. V peněžence ho nosí více než 350 milionů lidí. „Eurozóna není dokončený projekt a státům chybí i odvaha dotáhnout společný unijní trh,“ upozorňuje Jarolím Antal z Centra evropských studií Vysoké školy ekonomické.

Česko má od prosince novou vládu. Poprvé v ní jsou strany patřící k politickému extrému. „Čekám velmi těžké roky. Něco, s čím nemáme zkušenost a nejsme na to jako společnost připraveni,“ varuje šéfredaktor Respektu Erik Tabery.„Měli jsme za posledních 35 let vzestupy a pády, ale tohle jsme ještě neměli. Tedy vstup stran, které lze zařadit mezi extremistické, které používají rasistický, šovinistický, agresivní slovník. Politici, kteří mluví o našich spojencích téměř jako o nepřátelích, kteří mluví o Ukrajině tak, že by se za to měli stydět,“ říká jeden z matadorů české porevoluční novinařiny Erik Tabery, který byl hostem posledního dílu podcastu Mediální cirkus. A dodává:„Myslím, že na to nejsme připraveni jako společnost. A myslím si, že i pro média to nebude úplně snadná situace.“Erik Tabery, který ještě neoslavil padesátiny, je v Respektu už 28 let. Od roku 2009 pak časopis, který vznikl těsně před Sametovou revolucí, vede. Nikdy za svoji novinářskou kariéru si neprošel jinou redakcí, než je právě Respekt.„Zkušenosti z Maďarska či Slovenska ukazují, že ty problematičtější změny přichází většinou v druhém volebním období, pokud navazuje na to první. A ještě horší to je, samozřejmě, potřetí, protože tam se ten systém začne drolit,“ popisuje své obavy z nástupu nové vlády Andreje Babiše (ANO) Tabery, který se v podstatě celou svoji kariéru věnuje politice coby komentátor. „Máme výhodu, že máme nějaké kontrolní mechanismy, máme horní komoru parlamentu, máme kvalitní Ústavní soud, nezávislé instituce, docela silná média. Máme všechny předpoklady pro to, abychom vstup, řekněme, extrému do vrcholné politiky zvládli. Pochopitelně, pokud budou ty instituce a my všichni plnit nějakou svojí kontrolní roli,“ říká.Babiš ví, co je třeba ovlivnit, aby se mu snáz vládloPrávě se slovenským premiérem Robertem Firem nebo maďarským předsedou vlády Viktorem Orbánem je český premiér Andrej Babiš často srovnávaný. Drawing on attachment theory and years of EFT training experience, they explore “caregiving nightmares”—those predictable moments when a partner can't respond with comfort, even when their loved one is wide open and reaching. They unpack how pursuers and withdrawers each bring their attachment strategies into the caregiving role: withdrawers often “loan out their avoidance” as a form of love, and pursuers “up the ante” as their way of fighting for the bond. Rather than shaming these moves or bypassing them to “get to the heart,” James and Ryan show how to move toward the blocks themselves as emotional material, validating the attachment logic inside them and using structured, attuned interventions to help partners reclaim their caregiving systems. With rich clinical examples, regulation strategies for therapists, and practical language you can use tomorrow, this episode helps you trust the process, trust the caregiving system, and stay with the red lights long enough for new attachment experiences to emerge. Main Points from the Episode Framing: “Caregiving Nightmares” & Red Lights - Focus on stage 2 / step 6 caregiving positions, and the “back half” of vulnerable enactments. - The “red light” is the blocked caregiving system: the partner can't offer simple comfort even when they want to. Predictable Attachment Patterns in Caregiving - Withdrawers as caregivers: - “Loan out their avoidance” or self-reliance: advice, positivity, “be comfortable in your own skin.” - This is a form of love and responsiveness, but often misattuned. - Pursuers as caregivers: - “Up the ante”: test, push, or kick the tires on vulnerability (“it's just words,” “you only do this in here”). - Driven by hope and fear of being dropped again. Therapist Regulation & Preparation - Pre‑regulate before couples sessions; expect blocks as part of the process, not a failure. - If the therapist dysregulates, you now have three protection systems in the room. Working with Withdrawer Red Lights - Steps: 1. Regulate yourself. 2. Offer an attuned, assertive interruption (contain the cycle). 3. Give 3–5 concrete validations of the withdrawer's strategy as attachment‑driven care. 4. Reframe the strategy's attachment function (“this is how you love/protect”). 5. Then gently move toward the part that wants to reach. - Don't bypass the strategy; work with it as emotional material. Working with Pursuer Red Lights - Normalize that pursuers often lash out or test the first vulnerabilities they've begged for. - Validate their vision, hope, and fight for the relationship (3–5 validations). - Help them notice their somatic/empathic response to the partner's pain (1% of reach or comfort). - Avoid shaming language like “you're going to your head.” Use of Numbers & Repetition - “Magic” 3–5 validations to regulate a nervous system. - Sue Johnson's idea: clients often don't really hear you until about the 5th repetition. Tourniquets & Sender Protection - After a strong send + strong red light, layer tourniquets on the sender so they: - Feel caught and not blamed. - Are reinforced to risk again. - Never make the sender give up their experience just to soothe the blocked caregiver. Trusting the Caregiving System - Leanne Campbell's idea: trusting the process = trusting the caregiving system. - People do know how to care; the cycle paralyzes access. - Our job is to create conditions for that caregiving instinct to re‑emerge experientially. Hope, Respect, and Attachment Change - Both pursuer protest and withdrawer avoidance are hopeful, survival strategies. - Change often comes through “begrudging respect”: seeing a partner fight their old pattern for the relationship. We aim to equip therapists with practical tools and encouragement for addressing relational distress. Novopečený premiér Andrej Babiš odjel do Bruselu, aby se tam zachoval jako chytrá horákyně. „V Evropě máme státy, které podporují Ukrajinu, a státy, které ji nepodporují. Jen Andrej Babiš se tváří, že dělá obojí najednou,“ říká Lucie Stuchlíková.
