The gift of love and life has been given, and Jesus has been born. It is our responsibility to receive the gift, become that gift, and bring that gift to others in our hurt and broken world. Yet, as humans, we often don't get it right. There's still a lot of heartache, suffering, tension, anxiety and anger. God, however, has not given up on us. He still has faith and confidence that we can do it right. That faith and hope is renewed each Christmas.
When people are baptized, they have an opportunity to participate in the Good News of Jesus' resurrection. It's an invitation to understand that we each have unique identities that come not from the secular world but are given to us by God. What prevents us from receiving God's invitation? Father Mark explains in his latest podcast.
