Enemy love is evidence of authentic faith, v. 43-45 2 Kings 6:20-232. Enemy love is how God loves, v. 45b-47Two questions we have to answer today… a) who do you love? v. 46 b) who do you greet? v. 473. Enemy love is God's nature, v. 48 a) Jesus incites a pre-evangelistic despair that prepares us for the gospel. b) You don't need a relationship with God just for forgiveness; you need a relationship with Christ for capacity. Mental worship… 1. Do you feel capable of loving your enemies? 2. What is different about the way you love and greet from the way non-Christians love and greet? 3. Is there a “moreness” to the way you live? 4. What is a first step you could take this week towards enemy love? 5. Do you see God's commands through the lens of His promise? 6. Who do you spend time with that is like looking in a funhouse mirror?

Guest speaker Bill Federer delivers a profound Father's Day message, weaving historical insights with theological truths. Federer highlights the critical role of fathers, sharing personal anecdotes and statistics on fatherless homes, and recounts the story of Admiral William Penn and his son, whose faith birthed Pennsylvania's religious freedom. He explores God as Father, contrasting Christianity's intimate view with other faiths, using prepositions to illustrate the Trinity's roles. Federer explains God's creation of free will, time, and hiddenness to enable voluntary love, emphasizing Jesus as the Lamb who took humanity's judgment. He calls believers to repent, receive the Holy Spirit, and live obediently, reflecting God's love through actions, ensuring a legacy of faith.Verse References: James 1 verse 17, John 20 verse 17, Matthew 6 verse 6, John 4 verse 23, John 14 verse 6, John 10 verse 9, Philippians 4 verse 19, 1 Peter 5 verse 10, 2 Corinthians 4 verse 15, Galatians 4 verse 7, John 14 verse 16, Acts 1 verse 5, Galatians 5 verse 16, Revelation 1 verse 17, Romans 8 verse 9, Galatians 3 verse 3, 1 Thessalonians 1 verse 5, Luke 23 verse 46, Matthew 6 verses 9–10, Matthew 26 verse 39, John 17 verse 1, Matthew 11 verse 25, John 5 verse 30, Matthew 25 verse 34, John 6 verse 38, 2 Corinthians 1 verse 5, Acts 4 verse 12, 2 Corinthians 4 verse 14, Philippians 4 verse 13, 2 Corinthians 5 verse 14, Galatians 4 verse 6, John 16 verse 7, Acts 2 verse 4, Revelation 1 verse 10, Psalm 91 verse 14, John 21 verses 15–17, Isaiah 53 verses 2–10, Genesis 22 verses 7–8, Revelation 5 verses 1–14, Revelation 14 verses 10–11Make sure you subscribe to this channel and follow us on all our platforms to always stay up to date with our latest content! And you can always head over to our website for any general information!https://godspeak.comPrayer/NeedsIf you have any needs, or have a willingness to be used to meet various need in the body, please email info@godspeak.com. The economy is much different in the City of God versus the City of Man.
In week two of our collection of talks entitled "Bold", Pastor Christian challenges us as believers to embrace the radical love of Jesus, who calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. In God's Kingdom, love is not optional or limited—it's a defining responsibility, even when it's uncomfortable. Listen and be challenged. Support the show
This episode moves into week 5 of Lent and looks at Matthew 27:22-31 and Mark 15:37-41. In these passages, we see Jesus before Pilate, including how the soldiers treated Him, and the last breath of Jesus. Together we discuss how the love that Jesus has for His Father is the foundation for His obedience, obedience that results in love for all those around Him. In the same way, we come to realize that as important as it is for us to love those around us, this love, first comes out of obedience rooted in love for Jesus.

Jim Osman examines loving church discipline as a biblical act rooted in Matthew 18:15-20 and 1 Corinthians 5. He presents it as obedience to Christ, a pursuit of the sinner's restoration, and a guard for church purity. This sermon highlights loving church discipline as a forsaken yet essential practice, blending sobering truth with redemptive hope for the church. ★ Support this podcast ★

Charles Quarles teaches from Matthew 5:43-48 on how God enables believers to love their enemies and pray for those who persecute them.
Jesus tells us that we need to stop living by "an eye for an eye" and instead start loving our enemies. As Fr. Jim reminds us, this is much easier said than done, even in our "enlightened" age [emphasis mine].Matthew 5:38-48Jesus said to his disciples:“You have heard that it was said,An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But I say to you, offer no resistance to one who is evil. When someone strikes you on your right cheek, turn the other one as well.If anyone wants to go to law with you over your tunic, hand over your cloak as well.Should anyone press you into service for one mile,go for two miles.Give to the one who asks of you,and do not turn your back on one who wants to borrow.“You have heard that it was said,You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemiesand pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have?Do not the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brothers only, what is unusual about that?Do not the pagans do the same?So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.”Alternate for Luke 6:17, 20-26Fr. Jim recorded Gospel Studies for most Gospels from September through May but sometimes Gospels were missed or the recording quality is unusable. There is not Gospel Study for the above passage from Luke, however, this passage from Matthew is a substitute. Heart to Heart Catholic Media MinistryEvangelize Seekers. Inspire Believers. What is the greatest commandment in the Bible? How can we love God? How do we love others? How do the commandments from God given in the Old Testament relate to the commands that Christ has given us in the gospels? In his sermon, All You Need Is Love (Matthew 22:34-40), Pastor Josiah answers these questions and others as he examines the command from Christ to love God and love others out of Matthew 22:34-40.It can be hard to love others, especially those who frustrate us or belittle us because we are not like them. Through the exposition of God's word, Pastor Josiah shares how through the sanctifying work of the holy spirit, we are able to overcome our personal barriers that prevent us from living out this primary command that Christ has given us to love God and love others. This sermon was preached on May 5th, 2024. Principle of Love Matthew 25
A typical 18-hole round of golf is marked by dramatic thrills and maddening mistakes. But golfers know they can redeem early mistakes with a strong back nine. The Bible is analogous to the game: in the Old Testament, God's chosen people behaved erratically and often frustrated their Lord with sin and idolatry. But behind the scenes, He was preparing them for eternal salvation. In the book of Matthew, the writer highlights how Jesus came to fulfill God's plan to help us finish “our round” strong. Join Horizon for this verse-by-verse study of Matthew and see how God laid out the course for Christ's arrival.
We want to feel our worth. We want to know that we are loved, significant, and valued. We desire this, but because there are so many messages competing for our attention, we can easily forget that we are worthy of love. In this unexpected passage in Matthew, we will realize that Jesus invites us to be a part of the family, frees us from what is holding us back, and gives us hope for the future. Through all of this, Jesus will remind us that we have great worth. This sermon was originally preached at Northwest Nazarene University in December of 2023, as part of their Advent series. —— I'd love to connect with you throughout the week on instagram @carlycommunicates.
