In all the hustle and bustle of everyday living how can we balance life? More importantly, how can we balance ourselves? And what does life balance have to do with our communities? In order to effect real change we first have to look at who we are as individuals, and who we are in our communities --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/whatshewants/support
If I want to restore the love to humanity, then first we have to discuss what love is. True love is unconditional and respectful. What I mean by that is that I can't tell you that I love you if you behave the way I expect you to. For example, I will only love you if you take this job, study this subject, stop using drugs, I could keep going with all the conditions on love I have heard and experienced. One of the best examples I have is my own daddy. He couldn't stop drinking and using. Every year for my birthday he would go to rehab, because he knew that is what I wanted the most. He wasn't ready, so he would get out and go right back to drinking and using. One year I had enlightenment that said if I could love him where he was at in life instead of keeping my love from him until he was clean, then maybe he would find the unconditional love he had searched for that led him to start using to begin with. After this revelation our relationship began to change for the better. There was less fighting and more healing. He began to realize that all I wanted was his love, the same as he only wanted to be loved by his own daddy. Through the years, my decision to stop holding my love for ransom with conditions affected his relationship with not just me but also his daddy. Conversations that needed to be had were finally making it to the discussion table. We began to have a two-way relationship of respect. He respected my decisions whether he agreed with them or not, and vice versa. SO, I say to everyone listening stop holding your love for ransom and start loving the people in your life right where they are even it is not what you want for them. Respect their own decisions about what is best for them in those moments. Once we start to love unconditionally, I believe that it will overflow to our communities. Bringing with it healing to ourselves, our families and our communities. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/whatshewants/support
