In this episode, I talk about what actually creates softness and collection in a horse—and why the saying “soft hands create soft horses” doesn't tell the whole story. Softness isn't about avoiding pressure or having light hands; it's about precision, clear signals, and consistent releases. I explain why horses don't learn from pressure—they learn from the release—and how improving your timing and clarity can completely change your horse's response. If you want a horse that stays connected, balanced, and soft through their body, this episode will help you cut through some common horsemanship clichés and focus on what really matters.

This gentle sleep hypnosis is for nights when grief lives in the body... as heaviness in the chest, tension in the breath, or quiet exhaustion from holding too much for too long. Best listened to in bed, this session does not ask you to fix or process anything. Instead, it offers a safe, permission-based space where the body can soften and rest.Through slow pacing, intentional pauses, and somatic awareness, your nervous system is gently reassured that it is safe to let go, even briefly. You may notice your breath slow, your body feel more supported, and sleep arrive naturally. Grief is not rushed away... it is held with care.Tonight, you don't have to be strong. Your body is allowed to rest.
When he first sat down behind a set of keys, Julian Davis Reid quickly learned the piano was his voice. The Chicago-based pianist and theologian first found himself in a music class at age 2. He released his fourth album, “Vocation,” in 2025, with plans to bring his tour home to Constellation on Jan. 14. Reid sat down with host Nudia Hernandez to discuss the album and how he found his voice through music. Hear songs from the album performed live in Chicago Public Media's Studio 10 on Vocalo.org. Internal Arts in a nutshell: “Stability born of rigidity feels strong. Stability born of shared load is strong. On the path of evolution: learning to let the Earth move through you“Power and ease are not opposites.”I started the school — our organization — in 1994. Though I was, and am, the leader, my leadership style has never been typical. In talks I've given over the years, I've described it as “leading while following.”I try to feel the pulse of the time and the people within it. I ask for opinions, listen carefully, and do my best to filter out irrationality and anything inconsistent with our purpose. That process is not as easy as it may sound. Now, after more than thirty years of this way of working, I am on a much-needed partial sabbatical, which I plan to continue until spring. It has given me the opportunity to rejuvenate — mentally, emotionally, and physically — and, perhaps most importantly, the space to reflect quietly.I've noticed that the people around me don't quite know how to respond to this shift. But I'm certain it's good — not only for me, but for us, for our organization, and for our purpose. What follows are my personal reflections on this process. What I realized recently feels important — and very real. What's happening isn't a mood, or a belief, or a story I'm telling myself. It feels like a genuine physiological and identity-level unwinding. And interestingly—fascinatingly—enough, Dhanur Veda — specifically the art of archery in the form of sumo — is facilitating it.For decades, being a leader required something specific from my body, not just my mind.I had to stay upright when others leaned.Absorb uncertainty without losing myself to it.Make decisions while containing doubt.Hold responsibility in my body, not just in thought. That doesn't live only as ideas. It lives as chronic muscular tone.Subtle breath restriction.Readiness without rest.A nervous system that never fully stands down.Over time, that becomes a posture of self. Not fake. Not wrong.Just held. What I'm noticing now is that sumo, of all things, is undoing that pattern.Sumo is unusual among strength practices because it doesn't reward bracing. It asks for grounding instead of tension.Downward permission instead of upward striving.Load transfer through geometry rather than will.Trust in structure rather than identity. When it's done correctly, the body learns something quietly radical:“I don't have to hold myself up.The ground is doing that.”That's not metaphorical. That's proprioceptive. And once the body learns that under real load, it begins to ask another question:“Then why am I still holding this elsewhere?”So things begin to let go, which is described in Dhanur Veda as well as the ancient Chinese texts as a cultivation of the internal arts. That letting go feels both destabilizing and relieving. It can show up as fatigue.Softness.Emotional permeability.Needing bread and butter instead of discipline.Strength going quiet for a while. That doesn't mean leadership is disappearing. It means leadership is moving from effort to organization. From“I must hold.”to“I am held.”That transition always feels vulnerable — because the old pattern worked. Here's the quiet truth I keep coming back to:I'm not becoming less capable.I'm becoming less armored. And armor, once it relaxes, always reveals how heavy it was. This doesn't feel like collapse. It isn't regression. It isn't abdication. It feels like redistribution of load. The same principle I've learned in the lift applies here too:WhenSupport the show

In this episode, I talk about Social Softness and why it makes discipline more powerful than ever. Society is getting softer—people avoid stress, comfort rules, and discipline feels optional. But that's exactly why discipline becomes a superpower: it's rare, valuable, and separates you from the crowd. I explain how staying disciplined builds your foundation and why it's more important now than ever. This is about showing up, even when the world around you is taking the easy way out. Show Notes: [02:48]#1 Discipline is now a market inefficiency. [12:38]#2 Discipline is now a competitive advantage, not just a positive personal virtue, which is what it used to be. Some of the most powerful relationship lessons don't come from books or therapy sessions — they come from embodied practices that teach us how to slow down, soften, and trust timing. In this deeply personal solo episode of The Secret Formula of Femininity, Dr. Nicole Monteiro shares how inheriting a love of gardening from her grandmother became a grounding feminine practice — one that strengthened her nervous system, deepened her marriage, and reshaped how she relates to love. This episode explores:• How gardening regulates the nervous system and reduces stress• Why embodied feminine practices create emotional safety in relationships• The surprising link between patience, softness, and lasting love• How releasing control strengthens intimacy• Why feminine hobbies are not “extra,” but essential for relational health• What tending the soil teaches us about tending loveBlending personal storytelling, psychology, and research, this episode invites you to rethink strength, productivity, and connection — and consider how slowing down may be the very thing your relationship needs. If you've been feeling rushed, hardened, or disconnected — from yourself or your partner — this episode offers a gentle return to softness, presence, and rooted love.
This video includes a period of silent shared presence meditation, followed by a short reflection. In this reflection, I explore the experience of shared presence — being with others in a way that feels open, attentive, and alive.Towards the end, I reflect on the idea of softness: softening our behaviour, our activities, and our relationships, and meeting life with receptivity rather than resistance. A gentle invitation to collaborate with life instead of pushing against it.Support My Content:If you'd like to help support this work, your kindness goes towards my self-care, everyday living, and audio/video equipment: https://linktr.ee/true_being#SharedPresence#Softness#SpiritualReflection#MindfulLiving#BeingPresent
Happy New Year!
Welcome back to Bri Books! This episode of Bri Books is about locking in. Not chasing. Not manifesting yet. Not reinventing your entire life. We talk a lot about goals, but rarely about how to choose direction before movement. Lock-in means deciding where you're headed before you start rowing. If you listened to the Winter Reset episode, this is the natural next step. Softness created space. Now we decide what fills it. If you're new to the show, leave a review of Bri Books on Apple Podcasts, and listen to Bri Books on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Please tell me where you're traveling to by using #bribooks on Instagram and subscribe to the Bri Books newsletter at bribookspod.com/newsletter. This framework is designed to help you set goals that can be assessed and revised, not failed. If you're listening along, pause here if you need to. This episode works best with a notebook. Step 1: Choose Your Goal Areas Start by writing down three to five areas of your life that matter most right now. Not ten, not everything, just. few. These are containers, not goals. Examples might include career, creative work, health, money, relationships, home, or learning. Write your own list. These areas simply hold your attention--they don't demand outcomes (yet). Step 2: Understand Rudders and Oars This entire framework rests on two ideas: Rudders determine direction. Oars create movement. A rudder is not a task or a dream. A rudder answers: What direction am I steering this part of my life in? An oar answers: What am I actually doing, regularly, to move? You need both. Without a rudder, you row in circles.Without oars, you drift. Step 3: Set Your Rudders (Directional Language) For each life area, write one sentence that defines direction. Rudders are written in the present tense. They're directional, not outcome-based, and free from numbers, pressure, or deadlines. They describe orientation, not achievement. Examples of structure: "I am steering my career toward work that values ___." "I am orienting my health around consistency, not intensity." "I am prioritizing creative output over perfection." Now write yours. Leave space—you'll revisit them. Step 4: Define Your Oars (Action Language) For each rudder, choose one to three oars only. Good oars are repeatable, realistic, and observable They sound like "I write for 60 minutes, three times a week", or "I review finances every Sunday", or "I submit one pitch per month." They do not sound like "Be disciplined," "Try harder", or "finally get it together." Your oars should be specific enough that you can tell whether you did them—without judgment. Step 5: Lock-In Means Review, Not Perfection Lock-in doesn't mean committing forever. It means: you write it down, you work it, you assess it, and you revise it quarterly. If something isn't working, that's not failure—it's information. We'll go deeper into the review process in the Year-in-Review episode. What Comes Next Once direction and movement are defined, the next step is learning how to work with desire and intention without forcing outcomes. That's where we're headed next: manifestation journaling—slow, grounded, and pressure-free.

Welcome back to Bri Books — the podcast that educates, encourages, and inspires by exploring ideas both on and off the page. Today's episode is about winter lixfestyle favorites: the soft hobbies, rituals, and everyday comforts that carried me through 2025 and that I'm intentionally bringing with me into 2026. You've heard a lot about the "soft life" and the "soft girl era." I want to offer a reframing: your grandmother may be the softest woman you know. Softness isn't new. It's inherited. It's practiced. It's slow. This episode isn't about hustle or optimization. It's about winter evenings, quiet joy, and choosing process over productivity. Last winter, I noticed myself reaching less for outcomes and more for ways of being — warmth, texture, ritual, and time that felt expansive rather than efficient. These are the lifestyle favorites that came out of that season and are staying with me. 1. Embroidery Embroidery is the ultimate soft hobby. It's tactile, forgiving, and slow in the best way. You can pick it up for ten minutes or lose an entire evening to it. Best of all, you always have something to show for your time: a few stitches, a pattern emerging, a garment mended. It requires no screens, very little space, and pairs beautifully with audiobooks, podcasts, or quiet TV. On dark winter nights, embroidery feels deeply grounding. 2. Popcorn From the Cob This was a surprise favorite of 2025. Popping kernels directly off a dried corn cob feels old-fashioned and ceremonial. It turns a snack into an event. Pop it on the stove, finish with butter and flaky salt, and eat while reading or watching snow fall. It's nostalgic, humbling, and cozy: and it happens fast enough that it asks for your full attention. 3. Candle Making & Light as Ritual I've been making candles for years, but winter 2025 made it a true ritual. Choosing the scent, wax, and vessel is an act of intention. I make candles in batches early in the season and burn them slowly throughout winter so my home smells familiar and grounding. In long, dark months, light matters. So start making your candles. 4. Gardening (Even in Winter) Gardening doesn't stop in winter; it changes form. Winter gardening looks like planning, seed sorting, journaling, and tending indoor plants. It's a reminder that growth doesn't always look active. Winter is when I reflect on what I want to grow — literally and metaphorically — in the year ahead. 5. A New Duvet from Culver One of my most meaningful upgrades of 2025 was investing in better sleep. A Cultiver linen duvet changed how winter nights felt. Linen regulates temperature beautifully, feels lived-in, and makes your bed feel like a destination. When nights are long, rest should feel intentional. 6. A Beautiful Cup from Jinen This may sound small, but it isn't. A really good cup changes how you experience mornings. Texture matters. Weight matters. A ceramic or natural-finish cup slows you down and makes tea or coffee feel ceremonial. Winter mornings deserve softness. This cup from Jinen porcelain Hasami cup has become my absolute favorite porcelain cup for everyday use. 7. Instant Pot (and Instant Pot Culture) In 2025, I leaned into comfort cooking: soups, stews, beans, and broths. The Instant Pot makes nourishment accessible without urgency. Batch cooking on Sundays meant weekday dinners felt cared for instead of chaotic. 8. Farmers Markets (Even in Winter) Winter farmers markets are quieter, more intentional, and deeply communal. Root vegetables, bread, eggs, preserves. Shopping local in winter feels like an act of care — a reminder that provision exists in every season, just in different forms. 9. Painting Painting returned to my life without pressure to be good. Winter painting is about mood, texture, and emotion — not outcome. Paint in low light. Let it be messy. Let it exist just for you. 10. New Boots & a New Coat A good pair of winter boots grounds you — literally. Practical, wearable winter clothing makes cold weather feel intentional instead of inconvenient. Winter style should support your life, not complicate it. These favorites aren't about consumption. They're about attention. Soft hobbies teach us to stay. Winter rituals remind us we're allowed to move slowly. As we head into 2026, I'm choosing warmth, intention, and creativity — and leaving urgency behind. In today's episode, we drop into a deeply heartfelt and honest conversation with three women from the Multidimensional Woman Mentorship, as they open up about their journeys of healing, awakening, and returning home to themselves. This dialogue is an intimate window into what becomes possible when a woman says “yes” to her growth, her soul, and her becoming.Together, we explore what it means to walk the path of a multidimensional woman—one who embraces her vulnerability, honors her emotions, and allows her body to guide her transformation. These women share how mentorship, sisterhood, and embodied practices supported them in dissolving old identities, reclaiming their confidence, and reconnecting with their inner aliveness.Throughout the conversation, we highlight the importance of integrating insights into daily life—moving beyond awareness and truly embodying the work. You'll hear stories of emotional alchemy, creative expression, forgiveness, and the profound healing that happens when women gather in community. If you've ever felt the nudge of your soul calling… if you've been craving deeper connection, more confidence, or a soft place to land in your personal evolution… this episode will remind you that you're not alone, and that your growth is not only possible—it's sacred.Themes:Vulnerability is a gateway to deeper intimacy and connection.True self-acceptance opens the door to authentic relationships.Embodiment is the practice of living your insights—not just thinking about them.Forgiving past versions of yourself creates space for healing.Emotional alchemy turns challenging feelings into fuel for growth.Movement and dance reconnect you to your life force and sensuality.Investing in yourself elevates the quality of your life.Intuition will always guide you toward expansion—if you let it.SPECIAL OFFERS:
Today's episode came to me as I was about to hop in the shower, and I started listening to a podcast about “romanticizing winter”. It's definitely not something I would have been intrigued by in the past, but I LOVED it. After listening, I thought “what if we romanticized our fitness journey?!”Like…I'm not a winter girlie at ALL (probably never will be), but something about softening into a season I usually resist made me think about softening into fitness, too. And no…not toxic positivity or pretending life is “perfect”. Think more intention, emotion, and calm to something that can feel so HARSH this time of year.I don't want December fitness to feel like pressure. I don't need the “push harder, grind harder” vibe right now, and neither do you. This season can be chaotic AF, and you don't need to bully yourself into hustling when your bandwidth just isn't there. This holiday season, you don't need more discipline. You need more connection, intention, and moments that feel GOOD!!Episode recap:Why “romanticizing your fitness” helps you soften pressure & stay consistent this seasonShifting from harsh motivation to calm & intentional energy to support your habitsThe role of emotion, beauty & reward in creating sustainable habit loopsHow soft structure reduces burnout + builds self-trust5 ways to romanticize your fitnessWhy small wins matter MOST right nowHow slowing down can actually move you forwardWhy intention > discipline during busy seasonsWhy every positive choice compounds right nowLinks/Resources: Trying Not to Care Podcast | Romanticizing Winter: How to Enjoy the Holiday Season and Love Your LifeEp. 219 | Overeating During the Holidays: How to Stop the “Screw-It” Spiral + Actually Break the CycleGrab your FREE Body Recomp Meal Prep and get the UFYF NewsletterListen to the Girls with Opinions PodcastJoin FIT CLUB, my monthly membership with workouts you can do at home or the gymPRIVATE COACHING is my 1:1 program (choose 3 or 6 month option)Connect with me on Instagram @kristycastillofit and @unfuckyourfitnesspodcast so we can keep this conversation going-be sure to tag me in your posts and stories!Join my FREE Facebook group, Unf*ck Your FitnessClick HERE for my favorite fitness & life things!Send me a text with episode ideas or just to say hi! Storytelling isn't about explaining people, it's about humanizing them so we can finally see each other. In this episode, Peter Fenger sits down with John Morgan, a filmmaker, social worker, and co-founder of Live Your Purpose Media, a storytelling platform rooted in healing, equality, and social justice. With more than a decade of experience in community mental health, including work in Akron's public schools and at the county's first Black-owned, nationally accredited mental health agency, John brings a rare and grounded perspective to the intersection of wellness and creativity. Today, he leads powerful film projects that explore Black maternal health, incarceration, and men's mental health, while also directing Soft Work, a support network creating space for men to embrace vulnerability, emotional honesty, and healing. In this conversation, we explore John's journey from social work to filmmaking and men's mental health advocacy, and how he uses storytelling, community building, and softness as tools for transformation. At the core of John's work is a commitment to helping people live their purpose, and to telling stories that don't just inform, but inspire real change. A daily December series offering tender, truthful support for surviving the holidays after suicide loss — with grief, grace, and gentle company.Get THE Leftover Pieces APP & don't miss anything!
Send us a textGrief can feel louder when the world turns up the volume on cheer. We're naming that truth and offering a different path through the season: not forced positivity, but resilient presence. As a shamanic practitioner and grief doula, I share how resilience in grief isn't about “being strong.” It's about staying soft enough to feel and steady enough to come back to yourself, again and again, even when the calendar and the lights say “be merry.”We unpack why holidays amplify loss—rituals, anniversaries, family systems, and the pressure to perform joy—and how to navigate the first holiday without someone you love or a last holiday you're savoring. You'll hear practical grief rituals you can start today: lighting a candle, setting an ancestor plate, writing letters to your loved one or your future self, cooking the dish that carries their story, and taking a gentle “grief lap” walk after the meal to digest food and feelings. I offer boundary scripts that protect your energy, permission to leave early or skip traditions that hurt, and ideas for creating new, simpler rituals that fit your real capacity. We also dive into nervous system care with somatic tools and sensory supports: four-count breathing, one-minute shaking and stretching to move stuck emotion, herbal allies like chamomile, rose, and tulsi, the comfort of warmth from tea or a heating pad, and grounding with nature or a weighted blanket. Community matters too—text a friend to witness you for five minutes, sit in a support circle, or visit a spiritual space where you can arrive as you are. And a gentle reframe to carry with you: joy is not betrayal. Laughter, warmth, and small moments of light can live beside sorrow without canceling it.If you're craving deeper support, I'm opening a limited number of intimate one-on-one sessions this winter with somatic and shamanic tools, emotional processing, ancestral connection, and integration guidance. We're taught to toughen up, care less, harden ourselves. But you probably already know that none of that actually works. It doesn't make us safer or more confident, it just sends us into a tug of war with ourselves. In this episode, April unpacks the powerful middle ground — where softness and self-respect can live together — and shares a story that reframes what real strength can look like.In This Episode:Why “toughening up” disconnects you from your instinctsThe trap of believing softness equals weaknessHow we confuse fear-based posturing with strengthThe difference between the performance of confidence and genuine grounded powerWhat it looks like to be clear without being cruelHow to listen to your body's cues instead of overriding themThe third option between collapsing and attackingWhy real safety lives in self-trust, not force.Key Takeaways:Softness isn't vulnerability to harm — it's your internal compass. If you have to try to force someone to respect you and treat you well- you're dealing with a completely different problem.Power isn't making others bend to your will; it's knowing you can have your own back in any room you walk into.Discernment comes from staying connected to yourself and listening to your emotions, not armouring up and shutting down.Links Mentioned:Join the Bold as Love Collective Experience (starting January)Learn more about the programConnect with April on Instagram / EmailWant to get better at speaking up? This episode dives into one of our society's biggest problems, overstimulation, and how Sound Baths can unintentionally do harm without proper, trauma-informed training. Our clients are arriving to sessions already overloaded with sensory input, notifications, alerts, screens, traffic, stress, and chronic demands. Loud or chaotic Sound Baths can trigger an already overstimulated nervous system. In this episode, Niajae breaks down what overstimulation is, why it matters, and how certain bowl-playing techniques can unintentionally trigger anxiety, dysregulation, or even PTSD when we're not trauma-informed. She shares research, real BioWell data from Bliss Wellness Studio, and practical steps for creating safe, regulating Sound Baths in today's world. This episode is essential for any sound healer, practitioner, or wellness professional who wants to bring integrity, nervous system literacy, and trauma-informed care to their work. Key Takeaways Society is overstimulated, and Sound Baths must adapt. Playing too loud or high pitches can unintentionally harm or activate clients. Trauma-informed training is not optional; it's the industry standard. BioWell data shows most people's energy is operating in overdrive. Softness, pacing, and intentional technique create the safest healing space. WelcomeHello, lovelies. It's Juliette here, and today I'm joined by the radiant Dr. Aumatma. Her work bridges science and spirit, helping women remember the innate wisdom of their bodies. A naturopathic doctor with a specialty in endocrinology and fertility, she guides women to reconnect with the intelligence of their hormones, their womb, and their creative life force. In this conversation, we unravel what it means to listen deeper instead of pushing harder. We speak about joy as medicine, the body's natural rhythm, and how true fertility, whether for a child, a vision, or a new season of life, begins with receptivity. We talk about slowing down, removing pressure, and returning to the feminine way of creating, through softness, presence, and trust in the body's wisdom.Episode Summary In this episode, Dr. Aumatma and I walk through her journey into body wisdom, fertility, and feminine restoration. From years in clinical practice to realizing that women do not simply need protocols but presence, safety, and joy, she reveals how true creation begins when we stop forcing and start listening. We speak about fertility beyond making babies, the power of slowing down, and how the feminine thrives in receptivity, not control. Dr. Aumatma shares how she helps women and couples reconnect to their natural rhythms, release pressure, and remember that the body already knows how to heal. Her work invites us back to softness, intuition, and the quiet intelligence that lives beneath all doing.Key Takeaways A Woman Who Listens WithinWhen you slow down enough to hear your body, you stop chasing what was never lost. You become attuned, steady, and deeply alive. Creation flows from fullness, not from striving. The Body Already KnowsYour body carries its own intelligence. When you stop overriding it with pressure and return to presence, balance restores itself. Healing begins in the quiet spaces where you listen instead of force.Fertility Is More Than Making LifeIt is the art of receiving, of allowing what wants to grow to move through you. Whether that is a child, a vision, or a new version of yourself, the energy is the same - life meeting openness.Softness Regulates PowerWhen you release the need to control, your energy expands. Softness is not passive, it is intelligent. It knows when to act and when to rest.Listening Is the MedicineNot every answer comes through thought. Some arrive through stillness, breath, and the slow remembering that your body has always been on your side.Resources and Links
Trigger warning: This episode includes references to cancer, voluntary assisted dying, infant loss, abuse, and emotional trauma. In this very tender episode, I arrive not with the fire you may be used to…but with softness and conviction inside that softness. Over the last few days, a series of moments have moved me into a deeper humility, reverence, and surrender. In this episode, I share: How interviewing Jannine Gearon for the third time, as she shared her 11th-hour cholangiocarcinoma plot twist, softened me into awe at the orchestration of Miracle Frequency What came alive through the Miracle Frequency Masterclass and how I realised that everything since March/April 2023 has been a long-running initiation into a new timeline The original download of Sacred Leadership - presence, intuition, trust, surrender, grace, radical responsibility - and how those frequencies quietly prepared us for Miracle Frequency How my deepest personal initiation - the death of my first son Joshua, an abusive marriage, and years of suffering - became the doorway into a different timeline when I finally saw it through soul-level eyes Why tension and pressure are not punishments, but part of the birthing process of a new timeline Why I honour those who are being “chosen” to hold unrelenting pressure and tension, and what I know with absolute conviction about the magnitude of the timeline they're here to birth The no-matter-what frequency - the decision to choose a new experience of yourself, no matter what has happened or is happening now The directive I feel to walk with those who are ready across the threshold of 2025 and 2026 into their new timeline This episode is a soft hand on your heart, especially if you've been living under pressure with little or no reprieve. It's an invitation to recognise yourself as the one who is being prepared to birth something profoundly precious and powerful. May you feel held in my softness. I am so EXCITED to sit down with the incredible Samantha Bove!! This conversation went in so many beautiful directions, and honestly, I feel like it's one of those episodes you're going to want to listen to twice. We talk about everything — body awareness, softening, feminine energy, intuition — all the things. Samantha shares her journey into Reiki (which cracked her open in the most unexpected way), how Mary Magdalene showed up in her life, and what it actually looks like to step into your “inner queen” in real life, not just online. We also get into the messy parts… the in-between seasons, leaving relationships that aren't aligned anymore, that weird space where you know it's not right but you're terrified to say it out loud. Samantha is so honest about the courage it took to walk away from a relationship that looked “fine,” and how choosing herself opened the door to the love she's in now. There are so many mic-drop moments in here around self-love, healing, and what it feels like when you finally stop shrinking. And truly — if you're calling in a new chapter, trying to trust your intuition, or learning how to lead with your heart again, this episode will meet you right where you're at.I cannot wait for you to hear this one. It's honest, it's expansive, it's a little messy in the best way… and it's really, really beautiful.
SummaryIn this conversation, the speaker delves into the complex relationship between masculinity and softness, challenging traditional societal norms that equate masculinity with toughness and emotional suppression. The discussion highlights personal experiences and broader cultural implications, advocating for a redefinition of masculinity that embraces vulnerability and emotional expression as essential human traits. The speaker emphasizes the importance of teaching future generations that it is not only acceptable but necessary for men to express their emotions and exhibit softness.

In this episode, Kreed explores the concept of 'hardened hearts'—the emotional armor we build to protect ourselves from pain and the impact it has on our relationships. Through personal anecdotes and insights, she discusses how this protective mechanism can lead to estrangement and disconnection, while also emphasizing the importance of vulnerability and the courage it takes to open our hearts again. The episode encourages listeners to recognize their own protective instincts and to approach healing with compassion and understanding.Takeaways- A hardened heart forms as a protective mechanism.- Softness and vulnerability are signs of courage, not weakness.- Recognizing protector parts can help in understanding estranged loved ones.- Love and pain share the same doorway; closing one closes both.www.TheEstrangedHeart.comEmail: hello@TheEstrangedHeart.comWork with Kreed: https://theestrangedheart.com/services(private coaching, mediation, support groups, webinars, etc.)The Heart Collective: https://theestrangedheart.com/membershipFacebook Support Group for Estranged Moms (facilitated by Kreed)https://www.facebook.com/groups/estrangedmotherssupportgroupTo support the podcast and Kreed's work with estranged and reconciled parents and adult children: https://buymeacoffee.com/kreedrevere
In this episode, we explore the quiet underrated and often misunderstood power of softness... not as weakness but as one of the greatest strengths we can embody. Drawing on themes that emerged during my Bali Radiance Retreat, we dive into what it really means to soften in a world that often asks us to harden, to armour up, to stay closed and unshakable. Message Phi on Instagram Email Phi Softness is a strength Hello my love, welcome back to the Grow Through It Podcast with me Phi. I'm back from Bali where I recently ran my Radiance Retreat hence why softness actually has been on my mind a lot lately. It was a huge theme that surfaced during the recent retreat how gentleness, presence, and the ability to soften are not weaknesses, but deep forms of strength. As we explored this on retreat I shared with the beautiful women the realisation that softness doesn't exist without shadow: the parts of ourselves we hide, suppress like our fears and parts of us, our feelings that we deem as too much or perhaps negative. The world teaches us to harden and armour up Today, I want to talk about both: how softness and shadow live and dance together, and how embracing both can lead to real growth, presence, and connection. We'll dive into what it means to soften in the face of life's challenges, to meet our shadows with curiosity and care and to embody strength that is tender yet deeply powerful. For anyone listening, I'll be diving even deeper into softness and shadow in Flow (luxury feminine self care) Vietnam Retreat next year at the end of May 2026launching very soon, so DM me for more info. Let's get into it. We all harden at some point in our lives, maybe you are still hard and it's because you learnt to be this way. The world teaches us to harden. To brace. To armour up. We tighten our shoulders against bad news. We build walls around our hearts after heartbreak. We try to be unshakable in a time that keeps shaking us. While that armor can protect us, it also traps us. We stop feeling the sun on our skin. We stop noticing the rhythm and depth of our own breath. We hesitate to be vulnerable with others, afraid they might hurt us or break our hearts and ironically, it is that very fear that can keep love from flowing in at all. Softness is like water Softening is not about losing strength. It's about remembering that gentleness is a kind of strength. It means letting the body breathe again. It means letting your jaw unclench, your shoulders drop, your grip relax. Think of it like flow and water. Water flows around obstacles but it shapes mountains. Softening isn't becoming less. You become vast: spacious enough to hold both strength and surrender, both clarity and compassion. Softening is power and it's something I return to time and time again working with clients: strength isn't hardening after you perceive the world or someone or something wrongs you or hurts you… strength is in healing yet remaining true to your nature and if you're listening to this I have a feeling your nature is loving, kind and respectful. It's the part of you that keeps choosing softness, even after life gives you every reason to close. Reclaiming softness as the feminine Softness is not your weakness. it's your essence. It's your truth. No wound, no betrayal, no disappointment can take that away from you…unless you let it. Softness doesn't erase the hurt; it simply gives our hearts permission to move through it, to hold both the pain and the possibility of joy. Softness is often seen as a gentle, almost fragile quality but for women, it's deeply resonant because it's about reclaiming something that society frequently asks us to suppress. From a young age,

In this guided meditation with poet and teacher Henry Shukman, learn how allowing discomfort, rather than resisting it, can open the door to greater calm and self-compassion.How To Do This Practice: Find a Comfortable Position: Sit comfortably, either upright with your head balanced or reclining, and relax your jaw, shoulders, and hands. Invite Warmth and Softness into the Body: Gently bring awareness to different parts of your body—chest, belly, seat, legs, and feet. Imagine a gentle sweep of rest and quiet spreading through you, like a soft, warm wave. Notice Any Unease Without Trying to Change It: See if you can detect any subtle unease or restlessness. Instead of pushing it away, simply acknowledge it. Soften and Warm the Whole Torso: Move your awareness to the shoulders, sides, back, chest, and belly. Imagine each area softening like warm wax. Let this warmth frame your torso, surrounding even areas of tension or discomfort. Hold What You Find in Loving Awareness: Rather than trying to “fix” or remove unease, allow it to be held by your warmth and softness. Return Gently: When you feel ready, slowly bring small movements back into your body. Open your eyes and notice your surroundings, carrying a sense of warmth and acceptance with you.
