An Atlanta police officer and a woman are found dead from gunshot wounds inside the officer’s home, prompting an investigation into what happened behind closed doors. An Oklahoma man is accused of fatally shooting a woman who was sitting on her front porch with family on Christmas Day—even though she was several blocks away from where he was firing a gun doing some target practice. We explore one of the most sensitive and least discussed topics in Jewish life: money and marriage.• Why do so many couples avoid talking about money?• What do fights about money really represent?• How can couples build financial trust and literacy before and during marriage?• What role should community education play in preparing young people for real-world financial responsibility? To unpack all this, we sat down with Sarah Nissel, an attorney, law professor at Pepperdine, and Executive Director of the Jewish Divorce Assistance Center of Los Angeles. After mediating over 300 divorces, Sarah has learned what truly makes (and breaks) relationships when it comes to money + how self-awareness, communication, and education can prevent heartbreak. She shares candid lessons from the front lines: how to talk about money without shame, how to manage conflict constructively, and why the chuppah isn't the finish line, it's the starting line. It's a powerful, eye-opening conversation about emotional intelligence, financial transparency, and Torah values in Jewish relationships — not just how to avoid divorce, but how to build marriages that actually thrive.
In this episode of the Reading Materials Podcast, we step into Cinder House by Freya Marske and unpack what makes this a genuinely enjoyable Cinderella retelling. We talk about how impressively well-developed the characters are for such a short book, and we dig into a bigger conversation about queerness in publishing — where representation feels authentic, and where it risks being used as a marketing hook.Cozy, clever, and more layered than it first appears, this one gave us plenty to discuss.Episode Timepoints:00:00 - Intro00:15 - Brief Life Updates03:00 - An Introduction to Freya Marske05:15 - Spoiler Warning06:00 - The Blurb06:55 - Our Discussion of 'Cinder House'49:20 - Next Time on Reading Materials50:05 - Outro

The segment explored the unique pressures faced by children of celebrities, with a particular focus on how sons often struggle under the weight of legacy, expectations, and public scrutiny. The conversation referenced Rob Reiner’s past openness about his son’s personal challenges, including a discussion with Sam Rubin in which Reiner spoke candidly about the difficulties his son faced growing up in the spotlight. Attention then turned to reports and allegations surrounding a devastating family tragedy involving the Reiners, which sent shockwaves through Hollywood. According to accounts discussed on air, close friends—including Billy Crystal and his wife—were among those who encountered the aftermath, underscoring how deeply the event affected the entertainment community. The program revisited prior public incidents that hinted at serious family strain, including a heated argument between Rob Reiner and his son at a Conan O’Brien holiday party that centered on concerns over substance abuse. The discussion noted that Nick Reiner had reportedly undergone numerous stints in rehabilitation, highlighting the long and painful battle many families face when addiction is involved. Clips from a past appearance by Rob and his son on The Howard Stern Show were referenced, where they spoke about collaborating on the film Being Charlie, a project that mirrored real-life struggles with addiction and recovery. The irony of art reflecting life was not lost on the hosts. As details continued to emerge through media reports, correspondents shared the latest developments, including accounts of who discovered the couple and where an arrest was said to have taken place. The segment closed with listener reactions, many expressing shock, grief, and empathy, while reflecting on the broader themes of mental illness, addiction, and the tragic consequences when those struggles go unchecked. It's been a month of momentum, mayhem, and massive visibility at Dante and Dory's. Have you ever had a month where you're marching confidently toward progress while also dragging chaos behind you like a determined toddler on a leash? Welcome to small business life. In this Behind Closed Doors episode, Candace takes you through November's slow sales anxiety, December's sudden surge, and all the visibility wins that finally made Dante and Dory's impossible to miss. She shares:
Jesse Butler wasn't the monster people warn their daughters about. He was the boyfriend parents trusted. Flowers, church, country clubs, family dinners — the whole Norman Rockwell starter kit. And according to investigators, behind that perfectly polished image was a pattern of calculated violence that nearly killed two teenage girls. In this interview, retired FBI Special Agent Robin Dreeke breaks down how someone like Butler operates in plain sight — how predators build charm, weaponize trust, and calibrate threats to keep victims silent. We walk through the behavioral markers, the escalation from love-bombing to violence, and why strangulation is one of the most chilling predictors of future lethal behavior. We also look at the bodycam moment where Butler's mother immediately coaches him — and what that interaction reveals about the ecosystem that allows someone this dangerous to thrive. And as Stacy points out, strangulation requires sustained, intentional effort. What does that tell us about motive, psychology, and risk moving forward? If you're a parent, guardian, or young adult — this is a conversation you cannot afford to skip. #JesseButlerCase #RobinDreeke #BehavioralAnalysis #TrueCrimePodcast #HiddenKillers #TonyBrueski #DatingViolence #VictimSupport #StrangulationRisk #JusticeForSurvivors Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The death of 18-year-old Anna Kepner aboard a cruise ship has left behind a trail of conflicting stories — and at the center of it is a blended family dynamic that now looks very different depending on who's doing the talking. Parents and grandparents describe harmony, closeness, and three teenagers who were “the three amigos.” Yet teens who actually lived inside that home describe something else entirely: aggression, chokeholds, tension, and behavior reframed by adults as “just playing.” On today's episode of Hidden Killers, psychotherapist Shavaun Scott joins us to break down what these contradictions reveal about denial, family image-management, and the difference between outside perception and lived experience. Shavaun explains why teens often have a more accurate read on the emotional temperature of a home than parents do — especially in blended families where adults may be overly invested in a narrative of unity. She walks us through the psychology of minimizing aggression, why “roughhousing” becomes the excuse of choice, and the gender dynamics that shape which behaviors get dismissed and which get flagged. We also look at why an outsider — in this case, Anna's ex-boyfriend — might actually provide a more reliable account than adults with emotional or reputational skin in the game. And how cabin assignments made by a travel agent, not the kids themselves, may speak volumes about parental blind spots. This segment is a deep dive into credibility, emotional truth, and the patterns families cling to long after red flags have been waving in plain sight. #AnnaKepner #HiddenKillers #ShavaunScott #TrueCrimePodcast #FamilyDynamics #BlendedFamilies #CruiseShipCase #TonyBrueski #PsychologicalInsight #TeenPerspective Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? HSE Mid West has held a behind closed doors meeting with Clare County Council. Regional Executive Officer Sandra Broderick briefed elected representatives yesterday on the steps being taken following the HIQA review, including the construction of a second new 96-bed block and proposals to expand the University Hospital Limerick campus to a second site. Health Minister Jennifer Carrol MacNeill, meanwhile is due to make a decision on the delivery of a new hospital for the region in the new year. Ennis Fianna Fáil Councillor and HSE Regional Health Forum West Member Antoinette Baker Bashua says they were told a new hospital for Clare wouldn't be feasible in the short term.
It's been eight years since Samin Nosrat published her smash-hit cookbook, Salt Fat Acid Heat. She says her whole adult life was on a trajectory toward that book. Slovakia Today, English Language Current Affairs Programme from Slovak Radio
Nearly one in ten women in Slovakia experienced some form of psychological or physical violence in the past year. And while this is slightly below the global average of 14%, the number remains alarmingly high — with experts warning that the true scale is likely much greater, as many incidents go unreported. To mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (25 November), we look at why gender-based violence persists, which societal factors fuel it, and what support systems exist in Slovakia today. We bring you expert perspectives from Zuzana Očenašová, psychologist and researcher) from the Institute for Research in Social Communication of Slovak Academy of Sciences; Andrej Kuruc, psychologist and long-time specialist on gender inequality; and Barbora Burajová from the Coordination and Methodology Centre for the Prevention of Violence Against Women. As always, the programme also includes a new episode of Slovak Sound Check — this time focusing on ordinal numbers in Slovak.

In this immersive episode of The Dark Mind Podcast, Vincent welcomes independent filmmaker Danny Stygion back to the show for a deep dive into his latest projects: the brutal horror thriller "One Last Trip" and the provocative documentary "Dominatrices." Stygion shares the personal experiences and influences behind his films, from tense camping trips in the Sam Houston National Forest to nuanced explorations of BDSM subculture. The conversation traverses the challenges of micro-budget indie filmmaking, the psychological dynamics of survival horror, and the responsibility of portraying marginalized communities with accuracy and empathy.Listeners will enjoy behind-the-scenes anecdotes about casting, improvisation, and dealing with real life tensions during filming, while also discovering how Stygion balances fear, humor, and authenticity in his storytelling. The episode journeys from the raw wilderness of cinematic horror to the ritualistic environments of professional dungeons, featuring stories both shocking and insightful from Stygion's featured dominatrices. Finally, the discussion spotlights Stygion's upcoming works on haunted Galveston locales, synthesizer obsessives, and a modern take on the Faust legend, promising more adventures in the darker edges of art and life.Official Website:https://www.stygion.comContact Page:https://www.stygion.com/contact/IMDb:https://www.imdb.com/name/nm13631763/Instagram (Sinical Magazine):https://www.instagram.com/sinicalmagYouTube:https://www.youtube.com/@dannystygionFacebook (Sinical Magazine):https://www.facebook.com/sinicalmagLinkedIn (Danny Stygion):https://www.linkedin.com/in/danny-stygion-712126105Twitter/X (Sinical Magazine):https://www.x.com/sinicalmagAmazon Prime Video (streaming films):https://www.amazon.com/prime-videoTubi (streaming films):https://www.tubi.tv/Vudu (streaming films):https://www.vudu.com/MagCloud (print magazines):http://www.magcloud.com/browse/magazine/162779CanvasRebel interview:https://canvasrebel.com/meet-danny-stygion/ShoutoutHTX interview:https://shoutouthtx.com/meet-danny-stygion-photographer-magazine-publisher-filmmaker/

Wendy Adelson's Ex Exposes the Chaos Behind Closed Doors In this 15-minute stretch, we see Jeff's relationship with Wendy implode. He recalls the June 29 Gainesville trip where he confronted her about suspected infidelity. What followed was a night of accusations, emotional outbursts, and shifting stories—Wendy would confess to other men one moment, then deny it minutes later. The next morning, their three-hour car ride back to Tallahassee was filled with tears and silence. The hosts dissect this argument as more than just a lover's quarrel—it's a case study in gaslighting, manipulation, and emotional instability. Wendy framed their relationship as if Jeff were “auditioning” to be her husband and father figure to her children, while simultaneously engaging in erratic behavior. The conversation expands into how narcissistic family systems normalize chaos, how trauma bonds can trap intelligent people in toxic dynamics, and why Jeff stayed longer than he should have. The panel highlights the classic “fixer” mentality and how physical attraction often overrides red flags, even when the danger signs are obvious. This segment is raw, uncomfortable, and revealing. It doesn't just show cracks in Wendy's relationship; it paints a clearer picture of the erratic behavior and control that defined the Adelson family at every level. Kohberger's Apartment EXPOSED! What Investigators Found Behind Closed Doors! This full Hidden Killers episode combines two threads that, together, draw a sharper map of Bryan Kohberger: the newly released Idaho State Police photo set (over 500 images of his WSU apartment and Hyundai Elantra) and a cluster of micro-encounters that include a Pullman hotel desk blow-up followed by a sudden charm pivot and a next-day conversation about knives and sheaths. Tony Brueski and retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer separate what's probative from what's just provocative—no sensationalism, no graphic detours. Part One tackles the visuals: bagged hairs, stained bedding, bare walls, a vehicle processed to the seams. The key insight is priority. The spaces where scrutiny was likely (bedroom, bathroom, living room, vehicle touchpoints) read as managed, while peripheral areas look neglected. That split suggests a posture—tidy when it mattered, indifferent when it didn't—more than a true “organized” personality. We explore how investigators work photo sets like this, what they can responsibly infer, and where the public often over-reads. Part Two looks at the human layer: anger-to-charm at a hotel desk, casual weapon talk in a hallway, neighbors unsettled by window taps, colleagues noting boundary issues. None of these moments is decisive alone. Together, they map impression management, fixation, and testing—the small moves people remember when they can't shake the feeling something was off. We discuss how communities should handle soft warnings: document patterns, report within the right channels, and raise the cost of escalation without turning odd behavior into guaranteed prophecy. If you want a clear, responsible read on what the latest releases actually add to the public record, this episode keeps the focus where it belongs: method, pattern, ethics, and lessons that endure. Featuring: Tony Brueski & retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer Keywords: Bryan Kohberger, Idaho State Police photos, WSU apartment, Hyundai Elantra, Pullman hotel incident, knife sheath, soft warnings, evidence analysis, offender behavior, Hidden Killers Hashtags: #BryanKohberger #HiddenKillers #TrueCrime #JenniferCoffindaffer #Idaho #Evidence #Behavior #KnifeSheath #WSU #CrimeAnalysis Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
