Amara’s path to success at the young age of 19 is truly exceptional. She graduated college in December of 2017 with her Associate of Science degree and high school diploma at 16 years old. Driven by ambition and experience making the impossible possible (thanks in no small part to her mother who is an entrepreneur), she soon began helping other students to define and achieve education goals by launching her own company, A Young Legend, and Dual Enrollment Company. In addition to being a sought-after public speaker where she has spoken at TEDx, corporations, and universities on everything from building a brand to Generation Z insights, Amara also authored a book, The Strategic Mind of a Young Legend. Amara Leggett also known as A Young Legend was bullied in her early teens for her shoes and not being on social media. It left her feeling left out. She discovered business in the 8th grade and learned she could make money at a young age then started studying it. She also started taking dual enrollment classes at the age of 13/14. She graduated high school, college, and started a business by the age of 16. Amara’s message is on making the impossible possible in your life and I’d like to talk about that word “impossible”. It means incapable of being or incurring. This is a word that holds us back from achieving greater things. It’s a word that limits our mindset. People believe things like “it’s impossible to save for retirement while paying on student loans” or “it’s impossible to go to college without taking student loans” or “it’s impossible to get out of the financial hole that I’m in”. Let me tell you, these things are not impossible. Sometimes, we just need to change up our vocabulary which affects our mindset.
