“Send Coach John a message”Reading my every day Kindle post from John Maxwell's “Daily Reader” and this one hit home for today. It's all about "Ratchet Up Your Passion!” He starts out with a powerful question - What makes it possible for people who might seem ordinary to achieve great things? The answer is passion. He also shares 4 truths about passion. One, Passion is the first step to achievement. Two, Passion increases your Will-power. Three, Passion changes you, and Four, Passion Makes the Impossible Possible! This is something I tried to remind my students about all through my teaching career. It's something I remind myself about and other adults too - as it's a life-long quest to keep every day we have, somehow connected to things that we are fired up about. All of this comes from John Maxwell's book, “The 21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader.” I am reminded to keep investing in myself and the things that light my soul on fire! That's a powerful life if we can keep these things going! Thanks for listening. In this deeply moving and courageous episode, we hear from a woman whose life has been shaped by unimaginable hardship and who has transformed that pain into powerful service. Nasreen Sheikh is a survivor of modern-day slavery, a social entrepreneur, human rights advocate and international speaker. Born in a small rural village on the border of India and Nepal, she risked everything to escape forced marriage, child labour, and extreme poverty in search of freedom. Her lived experience now fuels her mission. Nasreen has founded several social enterprises working to end modern-day slavery and uplift the voices of those who are too often silenced. Through her work, she advocates for basic human rights as a foundation for global justice. From collecting firewood as a child in a village without electricity, to surviving abuse, bonded labour and severe poverty, this conversation brings to light the hidden realities of modern-day slavery and the strength it takes to break free from systems that are designed to keep people silent. But what emerges through her words is not despair, but an unwavering vision, a belief in the human spirit and in the belief that even the smallest act of kindness can ripple into profound change. Nasreen shares how her healing journey led her to create change, and how we can all be part of building a world where dignity, safety, and freedom are a given, not a privilege. Each of us has a role to play in shaping a more just, beautiful, and liberated world. We hope this timeless episode empowers you.

In this episode, I speak with award-winning actor, singer, and advocate Aaron Lazar for one of the most powerful and inspiring conversations I've ever had on the HEAL with Kelly Podcast. Aaron shares his deeply personal journey of navigating ALS, a diagnosis that has challenged every part of his being. He also opens up about his struggle to make sense of the incomprehensible, the process of finding the courage necessary to release fear, and the profound shifts he's experienced by embracing surrender and raising his vibration to align with healing. Aaron reveals how his journey ultimately led him to reprogram his mind, connect deeply to self-love and spirituality, and find hope through the stories of ALS reversals. His resilience and determination shine as he describes his advocacy for advancing research and his commitment to living life fully, despite the ongoing challenges that come with the disease. He also shares the inspiration behind 'The Impossible Dream,' a speaking platform he created where music and storytelling come together to empower others to believe in their own impossible dreams. This conversation is a raw, honest, and uplifting exploration of the human spirit's ability to transcend even the most daunting of circumstances. Aaron's wisdom and vulnerability profoundly moved me, and I know his words will inspire you to see life's challenges through a new lens of hope, consciousness, and transformation.
