We meet eye surgeon and founder of Peek Vision, Andrew Bastawrous who is a leading force in making eye healthcare available for everyone.

Andrew is an Ophthalmologist (Eye Surgeon) and Associate Professor in International Eye Health at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. He has worked and undertaken research in over twenty countries including two years living in Kenya where he led a major eye disease study and the development and testing of Peek. Andrew has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles, is a TED Fellow, Ashoka Fellow, Rolex Laureate, UBS Global Visionary and World Economic Forum Young Global Leader.

The team principal of six-time double-championship-winning Mercedes-AMG F1 discusses how to build lasting success with the CEO of Peek Vision – another of the inspirational thought leaders supported by UBS through its Global Visionaries programme.

At age 12, Andrew Bastawrous was told by his teachers that he was slow and inattentive. But the results of an eye exam explained why: he had very poor vision. He is currently doing this work in Africa as part of a campaign called Clearly, which aims to find global solutions to improve vision correction.
