One day on a whim about a decade ago, I reached out to incarcerated rapper Big Lurch, with the idea of one day making a documentary about his legitimately crazy tale. He responded with a letter. Then another. And another, all of them beautifully written. And then the calls started coming, sometimes as many as several a day. The documentary never wound up getting off the ground, but the letters and calls—while not always consistent—never stopped. Until, one day, they did. Cyberpunk 2077: Gangs of Night City is a competitive game in which 1 to 4 players take on the role of ruthless gangs vying for control of the underground in the glittering hellhole that is Night City. Clash with other Gangs in the meat or on the Net, as your enterprising band of toughs seeks to gain dominance over the criminal underworld that rules the streets. Only the boldest will be remembered, and your Street Cred will pave your way to the top. This week in our special outdoor tropical edition of HotGameMagnet we talk about one of my top favorite games of 2024. Cyberpunk 2077: Gangs of Night City is a gritty futuristic slugfest of underworld crime and street level dominance. Control is fleeting and life is cheep. We loved the theme, art and color of this game. We were also very impressed by the amount of replayability that comes from the many modular elements as well as a very clever mission system. This is one of those games that so far my main gripe is that we don't have the time to play it more.

Public relations is an integral part of any marketing strategy. It plays an important role in enhancing credibility and driving business growth. Successful PR firms understand that building a reputation and lasting relationships with clients, stakeholders, and the media requires strategic thinking and planning. This week, Jack Sharry talks with StreetCred's Managing Partner, Jimmy Moock, and Marketing Manager, Elena Krasnow, about public relations and credibility marketing in financial services. They discuss the key elements of successful PR strategies, the value of authenticity and active listening in building connections, and StreetCred's partnership with Future Proof, the world's largest wealth festival. In this episode: [01:21] - Jimmy's background and career path [07:30] - What brought Elena to StreetCred [10:41] - The Future Proof festival [12:43] - The relationship between authenticity and active listening [14:57] - The growth of Future Proof [16:51] - What makes Future Proof special [20:51] - Key factors for effective PR [24:40] - Final thoughts and key takeaways Quotes [20:59] - "We take our clients and the work that we do for them personally. We leave it all out on the field. We bleed for them." ~ Jimmy Moock [21:16] - "We believe that PR is a contact sport, meaning you need to be out on the field. Every one of us is doing every portion of client work because the minute we give that up is the minute our skills become rusty." ~ Jimmy Moock [22:03] - "Being authentic is so critical, and being unafraid to connect business goals and personal stories and share vulnerable moments is something we encourage our clients to do." ~ Elena Krasnow [22:29] - We all have money stories and ways money has shaped our belief systems. The more we bring those things and the human element to the surface, the more we can really drive success." ~ Elena Krasnow Links Jimmy Moock on LinkedIn Elena Krasnow on LinkedIn StreetCred PR Brian Hamburger Jason Lahita William Ruben Future Proof Frances Frei 2024 MMI Annual Conference Matt Middleton Emma Smith Connect with our hosts LifeYield Jack Sharry on LinkedIn Jack Sharry on Twitter Subscribe and stay in touch Apple Podcasts Spotify LinkedIn Twitter Facebook

Street Cred ep.707 I wrote this in 2017, but I dusted it off, gave it a quick edit, and re-recorded it. I hope you like it! Submission guidelines can be found at http://www.TallTaleTV.com ---- About Tall Tale TV ---- Hi there! My name is Chris Herron and I'm an audiobook narrator. In 2015, I suffered from poor Type 1 diabetes control which lead me to become legally blind for almost a year. The doctors didn't give me much hope, predicting an 80% chance that I would never see again. But I refused to give up and changed my lifestyle drastically. Through sheer willpower (and an amazing eye surgeon) I beat the odds and regained my vision. During that difficult time, I couldn't read or write, which was devastating as they had always been a source of comfort for me since childhood. However, my wife took me to the local library where she read out the titles of audiobooks to me. I selected some of my favorite books, such as the Disc World series, Name of the Wind, Harry Potter, and more, and the audiobooks brought these stories to life in a way I had never experienced before. They helped me through the darkest period of my life and I fell in love with audiobooks. Once I regained my vision, I decided to pursue a career as an audiobook narrator instead of a writer. That's why I created Tall Tale TV, to support aspiring authors in the writing communities that I had grown to love before my ordeal. My goal was to help them promote their work by providing a promotional audio short story that showcases their writing skills to readers. They say the strongest form of advertising is word of mouth, so I offer a platform for readers to share these videos and help spread the word about these talented writers. Please consider sharing these stories with your friends and family to support these amazing authors. Joy Reid leads this episode of The ReidOut noticing that since Donald Trump came along in 2016, leading Republicans insist that because of him, Republicanism is booming among Black people, despite there being no evidence of that. We also continue to point out the absurdity of the concurrent idea that Donald Trump is just like a persecuted Black teenager in the 1930s, as many on the right also push the racist narrative that being an accused felon gives Trump "street cred" with African-Americans. Plus, we cover how Tennessee St. Rep. Justin Jones has again been silenced by Tennessee House GOP leaders for passionately fighting for gun reform after a mass murder at a Nashville school. St. Rep. Jones joins Joy to speak out. All this and more in this edition of The ReidOut on MSNBC.
