Comment faire revivre le Disco ? Avec Never Dull

Le Disco Bowl - Le Podcast

Attention les Gaulois, épisode en Anglais !Warning: serious heavyweight vibes in this episode with one of today's true GOATs… Never Dull. While he was in France for his European tour, we were lucky enough to welcome one of the most influential Disco DJs out there right now.Coming straight from San Diego & Tijuana, Never Dull is a producer I've been following since 2018 — and someone I never thought I'd get the chance to interview. And yet, thanks to the Disco Bowl — and mainly to Louis, who had the guts to hit him up in an Instagram comment — here he is on CaleSon.Alberto (his real name) looks back on a wildly shifting career: ska/reggae beginnings, a detour through lo-fi, and eventually a full embrace of Disco.Because as his name suggests, Never Dull refuses to box himself into one single style. And honestly, that's exactly what Disco is about: total freedom.Today, he's one of the leading captains of the Disco revival. But who knows… maybe tomorrow he'll open a donut shop in Tijuana (you'll understand when you listen). And to top it all off, the night of the interview he plugged his USB at the POPUP… and absolutely destroyed the dancefloor (you can watch and listen to the set here),while I destroyed the English language with my questionable accent — though I'm pretty sure we still managed to have a deeper conversation than a TOEFL class. Never Dull. Thinking of moving to the USA as a dentist? Wondering what exams, applications, and documents you'll need to practice or specialize there? Curious about how much it costs — and what life as a dentist in the States is really like? Dr. Hazel Kerr and Dr. Dorrin Reyhani join Jaz for a deep dive into everything you need to know about moving to America as a dentist. Both UK-trained and now faculty at UPenn, they share their personal journeys and break down the full pathway — from exams like the INBDE and TOEFL, to transcripts, personal statements, and application timelines. They also discuss what it's like working in the US compared to the UK, including earning potential, patient culture, and training opportunities. Whether you want to complete an advanced standing program, pursue a specialty, or bring your skills back home, this episode gives you a clear roadmap to make it happen. https://youtu.be/Ro9dljETKpc Watch IC065 on YouTube Key Takeaways The journey to becoming a dentist varies significantly by country. Specializing in dentistry can open more opportunities than general practice. Board certification enhances professional status and may offer insurance benefits. International dentists have specific routes to practice in the US. Scholarships can significantly reduce the financial burden of dental education. Teaching positions can provide pathways to practice without additional costs. Faculty primarily teach and supervise dental students in clinics. Early preparation for the INBD exam is crucial for success. Clinical experience and a strong portfolio are essential for applications. Networking and externships can enhance application prospects. Understanding the application process can alleviate stress for international students. Cultural differences impact how dental care is valued and perceived. Want to monetize your skills as a teacher? Book a free 1:1 with us to see if we can help.   "How do we make research meaningful for the classroom? What really helps students acquire grammar? Can apps ACTUALLY support second language learning?" These are some of the questions we tackled in our conversation with Dr. Shawn Loewen.  Shawn Loewen is Professor of Second Language Studies at Michigan State University, where he directs the doctoral program in SLS. His research focuses on instructed second language acquisition, the research-practice gap, and mobile-assisted language learning. He is the author of several influential books and serves as associate editor of The Modern Language Journal. His new book, "Edited Volume in Instructed SLA" is out now.    In our discussion, we dive into: whether the explicit vs implicit debate matters if people can actually learn languages on "those apps" pattern recognition and why some learners “just get it” task-based language teaching vs. Instructed SLA why most institutions don't really know what their approach to learning is  leveraging AI and technology for learning  bridging the gap between researchers and teachers the limits and potential of communicative language teaching   FOR MORE FROM DR.
