A (relatively) in-depth analysis of British, singer/songwriter Judie Tzuke in just under thirty minutes.Judie Tzuke was born Judie Myers in 1956. She is best known for her 1979 hit 'Stay with Me till Dawn', which reached number 16 on the UK singles chart.Tzuke's family relocated from Poland to England in the 1920s, and changed their surname from Tzuke to Myers, like other Jewish families from Eastern Europe. Judie preferred the original family name, using it at school and later as her stage name. She was educated in the visual arts, performing arts, and music, performing in folk clubs from the age of 15. Tzuke's career as a solo artist began in 1977, when she signed to Elton John's Rocket Record Company. Her first single on Rocket, 'For You', was released in 1978.In 1982 Tzuke headlined the Glastonbury Festival and in 1996 she launched her own label, Big Moon Records. In 2008 she released her sixteenth studio album, Songs 2. The same year, she co-wrote four tracks with Morcheeba, and featured as a vocalist on two tracks from their Dive Deep album.In 2018, Tzuke joined with Beverley Craven and Julia Fordham to record 'Safe', a song that she had written with Beth Nielsen Chapman. An album was released titled Woman to Woman, together with a tour of the same name in the same year.From October 2024 to January 2025, Tzuke took her 'Jude The Unsinkable Tour' to a selection of dates around the UK. I Play for Paris Pt.3   Twisted Original Club, Progressive and Trance anthems and a couple of Rock ones!   Fittingly starting with “Sympathy for the Devil”, diving straight into Progressive sexy house with a hint of Club House before a Progressive – Trance House climax.  First time I get people to actually dance to my beloved Faithless, must have been the time when everything clicked and kicked in.   One month ago some nihilistic losers butchered 130 women and men in Paris…   Forget about the social media meltdown, France is my country and Paris my city. Whereas France is actually far from being the model country it aspires to be, by attacking “her” for being the “capital of prostitution and obscenity”, those bastards just proved that somehow those symbols of secularism and freedom are still alive and worth celebrating.   Forward to a few days ago… I was unable to mix anything, which wasn’t dark and filled with anger for a month until we decided to have an impromptu party. The core nexus of friends who could make it facing Xtian who was wondering what would spark his muse and how he could get out of his negative loop and make himself and his friends happy.   I played a 4 hour set, took about 20 minutes to get into it but once I found the right format for this forum it flowed. Got out of my spleen and played fun eclectic jams, old and new edits of tunes everyone knew but cuts they had not heard before. Whereas my usual format is to play current paid releases in whatever genre takes my fancy, I went into a “Richard Vasquez/Doctor Love” mode and played for me and for my friends.   Four hours later, they were asking for more and pushing me to go harder and louder. Take that nihilistic butchers, this is our answer to your dead-end philosophy.   Set is cut into 3 parts, slightly edited of what did not quite work live but true to the spirit of the night.     Part 3 is simply the culmination of all that. Wonderful Life (Freemasons Club Mix) - Hurts: This cuteness and fantastic musicality of the guys in Hurts is only surpassed by this amazing remix. A fave of 2010. Ring The Alarm (Freemasons Club Mix) - Beyonce: I rarely put a well known over the top vocal "diva" on my DJ mixes. Here is one of those rare remixes that excels beyond the persona of the artist. Classic. Disco Lies (Freemasons Club Mix) - Moby: Almost nothing like the original. I love Moby but this remix is a clear indication of what the Freemasons can do to a song. A fitting closing to part one.
