ZRCN CEO John Stauss joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss the company's transformation from a family-founded private firm to a publicly traded innovator with global ambitions. ZRCN Inc., the parent of Zircon Corporation, is best known for its electronic stud finders—a product category it has long dominated and now plans to revolutionize once again. Stauss explained how the company has used Silicon Valley R&D to modernize a traditionally stagnant tool sector, solving everyday frustrations like locating wall studs without damaging drywall surfaces. “We solved that problem,” he said, pointing to the company's long-standing reputation for reliability in wood-frame construction markets. Beyond its classic offerings, ZRCN has broadened its product line to include devices that detect rebar, metal piping, and live AC wiring—addressing growing needs in both residential and commercial settings. These innovations are helping the company gain traction in international markets, expanding beyond North America where it first established its foothold. Looking ahead to 2025, Stauss revealed the company is gearing up to launch a new breakthrough technology that could reinvent the very category it pioneered. “Yes, yes, yes to all of the above,” he said when asked if the company was refining, innovating, and expanding at the same time. This next phase of growth will be driven by a mix of enhanced features, an expanded product portfolio, and wider global penetration. The CEO also reflected on how pandemic-era home improvement booms bolstered demand, and how ZRCN's resilient supply chain enabled the company to deliver when competitors couldn't. Now, with the company entering the public markets, investor engagement and transparency are becoming top priorities. #proactiveinvestors #otcqx #zrcn #StudFinder #HomeImprovement #ConstructionTech #DIYTools #InvestorUpdate #SiliconValleyTech #ElectronicSensors #GlobalExpansion #HomeRenovation #SupplyChain

Channel Partners 2025 | By Doug Green Vodafone is a global brand with deep roots in mobile communications, but what does Vodafone US do—and how can channel partners and carriers benefit? At Channel Partners, I sat down with David Joosten, CEO of Vodafone US, and Alain Masson, Vice President of Channel Partnership, to get the full story. “If you're supporting enterprises with a global footprint, Vodafone is a partner you should know,” Joosten told me. Vodafone US is not a consumer-facing business, but rather the enterprise arm of Vodafone Group, dedicated to serving US-headquartered multinational companies. These are typically Fortune 500 organizations that require connectivity, voice, IoT, managed services, and network solutions—not just domestically, but in 90+ countries where Vodafone operates or has deep partnerships. A Global Network with Local Expertise “We've evolved far beyond mobile,” Joosten explained. “Today, we fuel 30–40% of the world's internet traffic through our global backbone. And for US enterprises looking to scale globally, we bring both reach and regulatory know-how.” That's critical, especially in regions where companies need local contracting capabilities, compliance with local tax regulations, and in-country technical support. Vodafone can deliver on all three, thanks to its owned operations in 27 countries and partnerships in 60 more. Why the Channel Matters Alain Masson is leading Vodafone's push into the channel ecosystem in the US, building relationships with top technology services distributors (TSDs) and resellers. “We're here to extend Vodafone's capabilities to a broader audience in the US—especially those supporting globally distributed enterprises,” said Masson. “We've already seen success with large channel-led deals and continue to grow rapidly.” For partners, Vodafone offers a broad portfolio—from voice and data to IoT and managed services—all delivered through a centralized US-based team with global execution capabilities. A Message for Rural Telcos and Regional Carriers Joosten also extended an invitation to regional operators, including rural telcos, First Nation carriers, and other service providers. “We've built an entire Partner Markets organization for this. Whether it's co-branded services, shared network investments, or roaming agreements, we know how to work with other operators,” he said. With shared services, procurement scale, and AI-powered innovations already in place, Vodafone is looking to collaborate across North America—no matter the size of the partner. Where to Learn More Vodafone US may not be a household name domestically, but its global infrastructure, experience in complex markets, and now, a growing channel program, make it a powerful option for enterprises, MSPs, and carriers alike. Learn more at vodafone.com, or reach out directly to David.Joosten@vodafone.com or Alain.Masson@vodafone.com.

He further addresses cultivating essential leadership qualities like accountability and advocates for training to empower teams. Dr. Pat underscores the importance of knowing both your own and your employees' strengths and weaknesses, as well as the need to cultivate core values in a company through training and by leading by example. The presentation concludes with a question-and-answer session that explores strategies for developing leaders, properly placing employees, and addressing underperformance.Key aspects of Dr. Pat's leadership insights include:Adaptability: Every leader needs to adapt by being aware, diligent, and accommodating. Awareness: Leaders should know their brand's position in the marketplace, similar to how stockbrokers monitor market happenings. Diligence: Diligence drives passion and enables leaders to excel, requiring accommodation for circumstances and individual strengths and shortcomings. Leader Efficacy Model: This model involves four quadrants: potentials (identify, design a path, and develop), promoters (retain and restore), producers (engage and empower), and performers (develop, direct, and deploy).... Leaders should aim to have these four types of people on their team to scale their business.Accountability: Dr. Pat stresses that leaders must be accountable to themselves and their teams, taking responsibility for their actions to enhance credibility4.Individual Leadership Development Plan: Every leader needs a plan to attain their vision alongside an accountability partner. Great leaders understand their weaknesses, empowering strengths and delegating challenges. The 10/80/10 Modification of the Pareto Principle: The top 10% are the performers making things happen, the 80% are just there riding the wave, and the bottom 10% are not working out. Give the bottom 10% a mutually agreed upon time with a training process to attain specific milestones and goals.Hiring and Placement: Use assessments like DiSC to align individuals with appropriate roles based on their strengths. If someone is not performing, consider if they are in the proper position and provide training to help them excel.Leading by Example: A leader's core values and how he leads himself will determine how the organization is led.Interested in sponsoring the podcast? The Sinaloa Cartel has established a vast international presence, extending its operations far beyond its origins in Mexico. In the United States, the cartel has entrenched itself in numerous cities, utilizing sophisticated distribution networks to supply narcotics such as fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin. The cartel's influence is particularly pronounced in border states like California, Arizona, and Texas, but its reach extends nationwide, contributing significantly to the opioid crisis. Beyond the U.S., the Sinaloa Cartel has expanded into Canada, Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, Africa, and the Middle East, establishing a global footprint in the illicit drug trade. The cartel's international expansion is facilitated through strategic alliances with various criminal organizations worldwide. In Colombia, partnerships with paramilitary groups such as the Clan del Golfo enable the production and trafficking of cocaine. In Europe, collaborations with entities like the 'Ndrangheta in Italy and the Kinahan Organized Crime Group in Ireland have been reported. The cartel also engages with Chinese triads, including Sun Yee On and the 14K Triad, to procure precursor chemicals necessary for synthetic drug production, particularly fentanyl and methamphetamine. What does a pink puppet called Connie have to do with ethics? More than you might think. On this episode, I'm speaking with a lawyer, whose innovative approach to getting employees to engage in ethics, involved turning to something we all know from our childhood, a puppet.Episode SummaryThat lawyer and my guest on this episode is Fraser Simpson, Associate General Counsel at the Wellcome Trust.  He's on the show to me to tell me about a creative and award-winning approach to embedding ethics in organisations. Fraser and the team at Acteon Communications tackled the challenge of inspiring ethical decision-making in a world where written policies often fall short. Their solution? Connie, a hot pink puppet who represents a conscience, prompting employees to ask, "What would Connie do?" Fraser shares how Connie was born from a need to engage employees in meaningful, human-centred conversations about ethics and compliance. We delve into why traditional approaches often fail, how behavioural science can transform organisational cultures, and why creativity is a powerful tool for behaviour change. Whether you're in legal, compliance, or simply curious about innovation in professional settings, Fraser's insights are both practical and inspiring. Throughout our conversation, Fraser illustrates the power of storytelling, humour, and simplicity in sparking conversations that matter. Connie's journey—from a sketch to a living, breathing character—offers lessons for anyone trying to make complex ideas relatable and impactful.Guest BiographyFraser is the Associate General Counsel at the Wellcome Trust, one of the world's largest charitable foundations supporting science to tackle urgent health challenges. Fraser's work that we discuss on the show focuses on developing a business integrity framework that empowers employees to make sound decisions in moments that matter. With a background in law and a passion for creativity, Fraser has pioneered innovative approaches to compliance, including the development of Connie, a hot pink puppet that embodies ethics and inspires employees to think critically. He describes himself as a dad of two first and a lawyer second, drawing on everyday challenges and creativity to influence his professional work.AI-Generated Timestamped Summary of Key Points[00:00:02] Innovative Ethics Solution (14 Minutes)Fraser introduces Connie, a bright pink puppet created to make ethics training engaging and memorable. Here are some of the key points discussed:Personal Journey to Immigration Law: Akua relocated from Ghana to the U.S. and encountered significant challenges transitioning her legal career. Despite skepticism and hurdles, she built her own law practice, beginning with intellectual property law and eventually pivoting to immigration in response to the needs of her clients.Cultural Understanding in Legal Representation: Akua emphasized how her shared cultural and experiential background with clients helps her offer more nuanced legal support, particularly in navigating issues such as proving the legitimacy of marriages and understanding immigrant struggles.Insight Into Immigration Trends:With changes in U.S. administrations, the immigration landscape could experience stricter enforcement policies, including mass deportations or denaturalization initiatives.Akua stressed the importance of preparation, such as maintaining complete immigration records and seeking lawyer guidance rather than navigating complex immigration laws alone.Advice for Immigrants:All immigrants—naturalized citizens, green card holders, non-immigrants, and undocumented individuals—need to stay proactive and informed about their rights and responsibilities.A central piece of advice was to consult an immigration attorney before submitting applications to avoid mistakes that can lead to severe consequences like deportation or case denials.Global Reach of Services: Akua's firm supports clients across the U.S. and worldwide, reflecting immigration law's federal nature and the firm's capacity to work virtually with a wide array of clients.Encouragement to Immigrants:Akua underlined the possibilities of living the American Dream with hard work, rule-following, and resourcefulness.
