This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! For Paige Stone, the supernatural was never a mystery—it was a constant companion. Before she even learned to tie her shoes, she was seeing things no one else could: flickering shadows, voices in empty rooms, and presences that came without warning. Most children outgrow their imaginary friends. Paige's never left. In her book The Uninvited: A Collection of True Life Supernatural and Paranormal Experiences, Paige reveals a lifetime spent living side by side with spirits—some gentle, others deeply unsettling. These weren't the fleeting chills of a haunted house visit. They were full-fledged interactions with forces that seemed to claim her attention, her home, and sometimes her peace. But instead of running from the paranormal, Paige leaned in. Her journey became one of understanding and connection—an attempt to bridge the gap between the living and the dead, and to help others recognize the unseen energies shaping their own lives. Today on The Grave Talks, Paige Stone takes us deep into her world: a life surrounded by the inexplicable, where every whisper, shadow, and shiver tells a story. Because some guests don't need an invitation… they're already here. Chances are, you know what it feels like to carry the heaviness of grief. You know that grief is messy and non-linear, with no way around it. Yet in the midst of your colorless experience, the world around you is buzzing, bright and loud and completely ignorant of the hole inside you. Today's roundtable guests are two women who understand what it means to hold space for the hard stuff, and they have made it their life's work to help people feel seen, supported, and less alone. They remind us that our grief matters, our struggle is real, and how important it is to find people to sit with you in it. Katie Huey is a certified grief educator and coach who knows personally what grief can do to a life. She has a beautiful way to help people find words when they don't know what to say, and reminds us that grief doesn't have to be so isolating. Abby Waychoff is an occupational therapist, yoga instructor, and the heart behind Mother Lover. She walks alongside women through pregnancy and postpartum, and she also creates space for those in the midst of grief. This roundtable sits in the tender middle where grief and everyday life meet. Abby shares losing her sister—her person—and how that reshaped motherhood, work, and identity. Katie reflects on losing her dad unexpectedly and the decade-long evolution of grief that led to her new book, Grief Cookies and Other Comforting Things. Together we talk language (what helps, what harms), parenting through loss, making meaning without forcing timelines, and building rituals that let our people stay present in our lives. In this episode: When the world keeps spinning: That frozen-in-time feeling after loss—and how to function when the calendar won't wait.Permission to feel both: Joy and sorrow coexisting; why “time heals” isn't the whole story.Words that help (and don't): Moving beyond “there are no words”; simple phrases that land with care.Parenting & grief: Telling the truth at kid-level; navigating family trees, school projects, and curious classmates.Rituals that root us: Ofrendas, Día de los Muertos, photo traditions, quilts from loved ones' clothes, and everyday anchors (toast with cream cheese & jelly).Coping vs. numbing: Movement, nature, journaling/blogging, creative outlets—and how compartmentalizing can be a short-term tool, not a forever plan.Community & support: Why we shouldn't do grief alone; finding your “me too” people.Identity shifts: Career pivots, creative work, and the exfoliation of “shoulds” after loss.Practical Practices You Can TrySay something simple: “This sucks. I'm here with you.” / “I don't know what to say, but I'm not going anywhere.”Micro-comforts: Warm drink, a short walk, fresh air on your face, a favorite song—tiny signals of safety to your nervous system.Ritualize remembrance: A photo on the mantle, a yearly ofrenda, a recipe they loved, a shared song—light, repeatable touchpoints.Kid-level honesty: Offer age-appropriate truth, answer questions directly, and let the story grow with them.Name the cycle: “This wave will pass. Another may come. We can ride them together.”Key TakeawaysGrief doesn't vanish; it changes shape. Some years are softer, some spike. Both are normal.Language matters. Avoid timelines and silver linings; choose presence over fixes.Compartmentalizing can help you move through the day—return to the feelings when you have capacity.Traditions keep people with us. Rituals don't need to be fancy to be meaningful. You don't have to do this alone. Support—professional, peer, spiritual, creative—lightens the lift.Loss can catalyze aligned living—a clearer yes, a braver no, a gentler pace.About Our GuestsAbby Waychoff — Mom, OT by training, and current mental health counseling grad student. It's a fact - your children fail. And when they do, how do you respond? Today, Chip uncovers why the Bible says that failure is never final, and that God can teach you to respond to your children exactly the same way He responds to you when you fail. Let's face it - our kids live in a world that is hostile, difficult, and painful. They're in a battle for their lives - whether it's sex, drugs, alcohol, peer pressure, or just the culture of bigger, better, more. The question is, how do you help your child face these battles, see them for what they are, and then WIN? Chip answers that question and encourages us to step up and step in to make a difference in our kids' lives.Introduction: “Five Smooth Stones” - God has been in the business of helping children defeat the “evil giants” in their world for a long time.Teach them to suffer wellTeach them to work “Unto the Lord”Teach them to manage their lives wiselyTeach them to discern good from evilTeach them to live grace-filled livesBroadcast ResourceDownload Free MP3Message NotesAdditional Resource MentionsMarriage Truth Cards Offer"Uninvited Guests" ResourcesConnect888-333-6003WebsiteChip Ingram AppInstagramFacebookTwitterPartner With UsDonate Online888-333-6003

Have you ever seen a 5-year old drive a car? Well, you say, “Don't be ridiculous!” Right! They watch you drive for years, before they begin to drive – with you in the car, and finally, they're able to drive on their own. That's a word picture for where Chip is headed today. Your children watch you as you live in obedience to the Lord, they practice obedience with you alongside, and finally, they live a life of love and obedience to God all on their own. Exactly how that process unfolds is what Chip explains in this message.Introduction: God's Dream for Your ChildYou must understand your child's two primary needs are for SIGNIFICANCE and SECURITY.You must recognize your child's primary responsibility is to learn OBEDIENCE.You must remember, obedience is a DEVELOPMENTAL PROCESS.You must commit to providing the necessary RESOURCES for your child to learn obedience.Obedience is achieved when your child has TRANSFERRED his/her primary love, submission, and dependency from YOU to JESUS CHRIST.Three characteristics of righteous childrenThey make wise DECISIONS. -Philippians 1:9-11They keep their COMMITMENTS. -Proverbs 20:6They care genuinely for OTHERS. -John 15:13Broadcast ResourceDownload Free MP3Message NotesAdditional Resource MentionsMarriage Truth Cards Offer"Uninvited Guests" ResourcesConnect888-333-6003WebsiteChip Ingram AppInstagramFacebookTwitterPartner With UsDonate Online888-333-6003

There has been a dramatic shift in the family dynamic over the last 50 to 60 years. Back then, men typically went to work to earn money, while women managed the house and cared for the kids. In this program, Chip Ingram raises a few vital questions: how does this traditional structure compare to the realities of how families function now? And what does the Bible have to say about the roles men and women play in their households? Join us for those profound answers!Introduction:“Relationships just don't work well when the man neglects to take the lead when he should, neglects to make decisions at home, and fails to be proactive in his involvement with his family.” -“Passive Men, Wild Women” by Pierre MornellFighting lies with truthLie #12 (for men):Husbands are to earn the money and wives are to take care of the kids and the house. The truth:As a husband, I am the SERVANT LEADER in our home. In this program, Chip stresses the devastating impact unresolved conflict has on a marriage. Every marriage will eventually face struggles and arguments over four key areas:RolesIn-lawsMoneySexFighting lies with truthLie #9:Getting help for our marriage from a counselor or a mentor is for losers. We should be able to figure this out on our own, and besides, we don't want to broadcast our problems. The truth:Every great athlete, artist, and business executive knows the value of a COACH. We all get stuck on occasion and need help to work through the issues we can't see for ourselves.Key verse:1 Peter 5:5Lie #10 (for women):All he cares about is work and sports. I feel like I'm left to do all the work of raising our kids and taking care of our home. I wonder sometimes if he even cares. The truth:Men default to areas where they feel confident. Your husband has fears and insecurities about being a SPIRITUAL LEADER and EFFECTIVE FATHER. Criticism and disrespect will heighten those fears and push him away.Key verse:1 Peter 3:1-2Lie #11 (for men):All my wife cares about is the kids and the calendar. Our sex life is on life support because she's always tired or making excuses. Sometimes I wonder if she even cares. The truth:Women default to areas where they feel confident. When tackling an important project, it is natural to want to divide all the tasks fairly, so everyone shares the responsibilities and weight of the job. However, in this program, Chip Ingram cautions that while that strategy may be successful in the workplace, it often causes stress, burnout, and resentment at home. Hear what God's Word says about an all-in partnership with your spouse, that is deeply rewarding and life-giving.Fighting lies with truthLie #6:Marriage is a 50-50 proposition. As long as everyone does their part everything will be okay. The truth:Marriage is a 100%-100% proposition. It is an UNCONDITIONAL commitment to an imperfect person. It's giving the other person what they need the MOST, when they DESERVE it the least, at great PERSONAL COST.Key verse:John 13:34-35Lie #7:Marriage shouldn't be this difficult. No matter how hard I work it seems like we always have issues to work through. I really wonder if it's worth it.The truth:Everything of great value requires COMMITMENT, SACRIFICE, and PERSEVERANCE. As my spouse and I face challenges and overcome them, our intimacy and joy will far outweigh our present problems.Key verse:Galatians 6:9Lie #8:I've tried hard to make this marriage work, but it's too far gone. Transformation will occur when I FOCUS on being the HUSBAND God wants me to be.Key verse:Ephesians 5:25Lie #5 (for women):Until my husband takes the initiative in the financial, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our relationship, he shouldn't expect me to show him the respect and affection God calls me to as a wife. The truth:It is tempting to wait for my husband to do his part before I do mine.
