Isn't it easy to live united with others today? No? Well, then we need 1 Corinthians 8. Here, Paul opens a discussion lasting through chs.9-10. If 1 Corinthians is all about what unity in Christ looks like, the center of the letter here shows how unity in Christ plays out in pursuing unity with others. Guest pastor Chris Leeper (Director, Baptist Collegiate Ministries at Radford University) shares how we need to be spiritually sensitive to others as ambassadors for Christ.
Guest speaker Darrell Cook (Senior Campus Minister, Baptist Collegiate Ministries at Virginia Tech) starts us back in our Hebrews journey. In Hebrews 3:16-4:13, we see how Jesus is greater than the condition of our hearts. When we strive to enter today into His rest, His works, and His Word, we experience how God reconciles the broken condition of our hearts to His image through Christ.
Ben Braly is the Director of Baptist Collegiate Ministries here in Jacksonville. We were honored to have Ben preach on the prodigal son here at FBCOP.
You've likely heard the statistics or the stories of how young Christians who go off to a secular college or university end up losing their faith. On this episode of Apologetics Profile we talk with Pastor Rich Day who shares his ministerial experiences and engagement with both Christian and non-Christian students on secular campuses. Pastor Rich gives us insights and practical helps as to how we can engage students of all beliefs who have doubts about God. Rich Day is the lead pastor at Lakeview Baptist Church (LakeviewBaptistTallahassee.com) in Tallahassee, Florida. In addition to his pastoral duties, he is also the Director of Ratio Christi at Florida State University (FSU), the Baptist Collegiate Ministries at the local community college and Regional Director for The Great Exchange. Pastor Day was recently awarded a Doctor of Ministry degree in Apologetics and Executive Administration from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (www.NOBTS.edu) where he also graduated with his MDiv. and MA.RESOURCES: Be sure to check Rich's earlier podcast and Watchman Fellowship Profile on the controversial movement known as the Black Hebrew Israelites: Apologetics Profile podcast: Black Hebrew Israelites Watchman Fellowship's 4-page Profile on Black Hebrew Israelites ADDITIONAL RESOURCES: Watchman Fellowship's 4-page Profile on Atheism by Robert M. For the biblical Christian parent, the current culture we live in clearly demonstrates Isaiah's warning, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!"[1. Isaiah 5:20] But his warning should not be a surprise, for there is a real antithesis between the biblical Christian view of the world and the way the non-believer views this world. Join Professor Jason Truett Glen, Director of Worldview Formation at Bryan College as we discuss the Christian worldview and education. Professor Jason Truett Glen began serving as the Director of Worldview Formation at Bryan College in July of 2012. Jason also serves as Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Culture in the Christian Studies Department at Bryan College. Professor Glen received his MA in Christian Ethics from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina and a BA in Biblical Studies from Southeastern College at Wake Forest. Jason also studied theology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary for two years and Political Science at Texas A&M University for four years. Professor Glen has ministered to college students for the past 16 years through such organizations as the Navigators, Baptist Collegiate Ministries, and local churches.
