Next month's community event will also be in WoW, helping folks who want to participate in the Balloon Tour events and those that need help with PvP for Children's Week to finally finish off What a Long, Strange, Trip it's Been achievement. WoW August 14, the day before Cyberwaif's birthday, AND the announced release date of Battle for Azeroth! With this announcement, the physical collector's edition is available for sale and includes a hardcover book with two novella's exclusive to the physical collector's edition with story about Battle for Azeroth. Excerpts were posted by Blizzard and are really worth reading - https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/news/21647285/collector-s-edition-a-tale-of-two-novellas For those of you not getting the physical collector's edition, the novella's will be for sale in digitial form minus all the artwork that is exclusive to the hard cover version. If you've already bought the expansion digitally in either standard or collector's edition form and order the physical version, Blizzard will refund the cost of your initial purchase to your account's Battle.net balance. Some highlights from the PAX East announcement - Dark Iron Dwarves and Mag'har Orcs will be the first two new Allied Races. Play through the War Campaign at release and unlock them. Kul'Tiran and Zandalari Trolls will come later in the expansion. Another round of realm connections is coming! The pre-expansion patch will include content in Darkshore that tells the backstory of the Burning of Teldrassil. It will include both story quests and replayable skirmishes with elites. There will be 2.5D animated pieces that tells the story of the Burning of Teldrassil. Check out more information over at MMO-Champion and WoWHead which have been tracking all the announcements and dev interviews. https://www.mmo-champion.com/content/7489-Battle-for-Azeroth-Releases-August-14th Also, if you are in Alpha and want to join the AIE Guild there, we have formed Alea Iacta Est Audacia on the Sylvanas server on the Alliance side. That's right, we're on the Alliance side so we don't spoil the Horde storyline since that's where the majority of our folks will be playing at the start. Just hop into the #WoW channel in AIE Discord and ask for an invite or DM Tetsemi on Discord as well. SWTOR Mandatory Fun Night, where attendance is optional, but fun is mandatory, is on the Republic side this week. They will be tackling GoTM as their main objective with the possibility of another MFN randomly popping up later in the week depending on Conquest goals. As always please keep track of AIE Discord and the #SWTOR channel for up to date information and make sure you've completed your story line far enough to have your own ship. Since we were gone both patch 5.8 and 5.8a dropped with a loud thud or clank depending on who you talk to. Major highlights were the Conquest overhaul, the return of followers and the final boss of GoTM, Izax. Links to both sets of notes are below,

AIE News Alludra - General- We have a new Guildie of the Month! North Issier- AKA Razzy and Crokaa is a a beacon of what AIE/AIEU represent and stands for. From helping new members get settled and helping others when any questions they may have.North really shown himself to be a standup member of the community, has taken to exploration in EVE, and always jumps to help others out when they need it. Nominations for June's GotM will be accepted until May 12th, 2015. This is a community wide program. Nominations will be accepted for members from any game division. Tetsemi - WOW- Last weekend was the Spring Craft faire- and by all accounts, over 60 guild members benefitted from the organizing, gathering, hair pulling, and general chaos that is AIE taking over Silvermoon City! Not to mention the COOP afterwards on Saturday, and the wrap up party/raffle give away that is happening right now at Gallywix's place. Thank you to everyone who volunteered, the Craft Faire is a perfect example of what makes AIE great! OH, and this just in- Tynchal, AIE's self declared oldest member, has set up Geillis' Daily BBQ and Beer Company. (How's that for RP?) As a new member of AIE, (or any other AIE member for that matter), all you need to do is post a reply on the forums or drop Geillis a reservation request in the mail, and, she will arrange to come and get you wherever you are in Azeroth. She will portal you to Halfhill where she will hand you the ingredients you will need to begin Cooking without even making one single slice of Spiced Bread. Blah! Stuff tastes terrible anyhow! In no time at all, you will reach Cooking Level 525; and if you are at least Level 85, then we can get you to Cooking Level 600 and the title of Master Of The Ways! Oh, I almost forgot the beer part. . .you also get a six pack of Darkbrew Lager to go. Such a deal! http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/56183-geillis-daily-bbq-and-beer-co-now-open-for-business Also, in WOW- It is Children's Week, which can be frustrating to PVPer and Non PVPers alike! with this in mind, AIE members are hard at work helping fellow guildies get one step closer to the “Long, strange trip achievement (paste in email from Sarah here) Alludra -Final Fantasy Abovan wants to know, with Heavensward quickly approaching, what goals do you personally have before we all head to the snowy north? GAME NEWS Changes came to the podcast over the year, we had @ShowNotFound (Ghomus) and @Acuzod step away from the podcast to rejoin real life. We wish them both the best and hope they are enjoying their time in and out of game. And, Mkallah and Tetsemi joined the podcast - not that anyone could fill Ghomus and Zod's shoes, but they are trying their best! AIE Guild Memories from Twitter Frosty the Snow-Ben @AltheMage @AIEPodcast taking down @GarytheRosh with @FERT_Raid was one of the best WoW memory. Bob Gries @Abovan @AIEPodcast Rememberance day was special for me. We were able to dedicate a candle in the FFXIV house to our fallen friends and family. Rght over there, we have Tetsemi (Welcome to World of Garrison Craft where your followers play the game better than you do!). And the awesome Alludra is off digging in the dirt for more pets! First off, we want to apologize for the sporadic podcasts the last few weeks- this time of the year makes it hard to record- or even, evidently, post the normal show. Thanks you, Alachaas and Hunts, for stepping in last week. That is all in the past, though- This week we are joined by special guests Rattozatto who is here to talk to us about AIE in The Secret World. Welcome! Ok, we'll be digging into The Secret World shortly, but first, let's cover this week's news... AIE NEWS Tetsemi - General: Did you get an Xbox or PS4 for the holidays? If so, there are threads in the AIE community sections of the forums listing IDs. Also, there are lots of smaller games either ongoing or starting up all of the time, see the Imperium Ludi section of the forum for more details. You acn also follow @AIENomads on twitter or check out the forums at http://forum.myextralife.com/forum/74-aie-nomads/ for all the information. I'm sure with all the games received over the holidays they will be picking up their roaming ways after the new year. Shimmeredge has started a great thread on the forums- just asking- Are you Okay? A lot of us have problems- especially this time of the year, and it is nice to have a place to just vent, talk, give and get virtual hugs, etc. And just for fun- Snaf wants to know what you got for Christmas! Reading the thread, it looks like a lot of AIE was indulged in some great geeky holiday gifts. So guys, what did you enjoy the most this season? Mkallah: - WoW: In pet news, Blizzard is celebrating Winter Veil by offering holiday savings of 50% on select World of Warcraft mounts and pets. Through January 5, 2015, take advantage of somg great deals in the Battle.net Shop. And the best thing is that all of these pets and mounts are fully giftable. Did someone go out of their way to help you in game? Made your day by queueing with you one more time in an LFR? Don't forget the Thank a Guildmate thread. Also, the AIE officers in ALL games are always looking for new Guildies of the month- they can be reached at GOTM@gmail.com. We try to announce our all star at the first of every month. And this is not limited to WOW- we want to hear about great guildies in all of the games AIE play. Always wanted to try raiding, but were afraid to start- or has your old team disbanded? Many new raid teams are forming, as well as existing ones looking for new players. On this episode of The AIE Podcast... The triumphant return of the Guildie of the Month! Did you see that trailer? Garrisons, Garrison, Garrisons! Have you preordered the Shadows of Revan yet? Abovan is here to talk about Final Fantasy All that and more coming up right now... Podcast Audio Raw Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0y2IqoOkq2k AIE General Guildie of the Month - AIE would like to congratulate our Guildie of the Month for December: Thuggs of AIE WoW! For those of you who do not know, Thuggs coordinated an event in World of Warcraft that helped over 130 people obtain a special weapon from the final boss of Mists of Pandaria, Garrosh Hellscream. This weapon, called an Heirloom, levels with the player up to 100. It is also transferable to alts. AIE's Guildie of the Month program is our way to acknowledge outstanding members in our community. If you know someone who you think deserves to be recognized please send an email to officers@aie-guild.org (we are in the process of getting a new email set up, will update that as new arises). Nominations for January's GotM will be accepted until December 13th, 2014. This is a guild wide program, nominations will be accepted for members from any game division. Regardless of whether you're a fan of the franchise or not, it's hard to deny the impact the Star Wars movies have had on the world. Last week, Lucasfilm announced the next movie in the series, Episode 7 The Force Awakens, will hit the screen on December 18th, 2015. They also published a teaser trailer, which spread across the Internet like wildfire. http://www.starwars.com/films/star-wars-episode-vii-the-force-awakens Zod Step-down announcement AIE World of Warcraft One of the coolest new feature of Warlords of Draenor is undoubtedly the Garrisons- and Thoribas on the forums was kind enough to post some great info from MMO Champion about highly useful ad-ons, Master Plan and Garrison Mission Manager. Having issues with level up followers because as soon as one follower hit 100, all missions became level 99-100? Blizzard has hot fixed the mission set up to create three brackets 90-94, 95-99, and 100. Each bracket can have 3-6 missions as long as you have a follower in that bracket. Thanks to Miy on the forums for letting us know. With membership spiking to 10 Million for World of Warcraft, AIE has seen a major influx of new and returning players thanks to Warlords- the WOW officers request your continued patience as we manage the queue. AIE EVE Online Lanctharus would like to remind all EVE players to sign up for Fleet-up. Fleet-up is the service they use to schedule corporation operations, which you can sync to your favorite desktop or mobile app, and give fleet commanders easy ways to prepare for and review missions, see what kinds of content the team can handle, see how they can improve, and more. If you're playing EVE and not in Fleet-up, you are missing out on a lot. And if you're not playing EVE,CCP released a video last week that might draw you into it. The video is called “This is EVE”, and shows off some of the high points of the game. Shot entirely in game and voiced by actual players carrying out missions, it's a pretty thrilling look at what goes on in the deep dark recesses of space. If you haven't seen it, we'll have a link in the show notes, and there's a link to it in the AIE EVE forums. AIE SWTOR We will have Max on next week to tell us more, but the all new expansion, Star Wars, The Old Republic: Shadows of Revan drops on December 9th- and your last chance to preorder for all of the goodies is Tomorrow! Bonuses include a Subscriber Exclusive Class XP bonus, as well as a grand statue of Revan for your Stronghold. There is a great discussion on the forums around what changes to expect with 3.0, particularly around the new commendation conversion and caps. And with that, let's get back to (Abovan) and find out what's going on in (Final Fantasy)... GAME NEWS FFXIV Fan fest

Everyone give three cheers for Wyllow of The Secret World! Many great things were said about this guildie including This player has been super helpful and very patient every time I have spoken to her in game. I know him from EVE, a great member of the community I completely support making him a GotM for his participation in EVE alone! So everyone give Gro a big high five if you see him! If you know somoene who you think is a fantastic example of what AIE stands for, let us know by sending an email to officers@aie-guild.org. Last week we announced we have a new Jabber service! Jabber is a multi platform chat room that AIE is using as a cross game greenwall. But have you been wondering how to actually use it! Well we have instructions for that! Head on over to the forums and look for the Jabber Jabber Jabber (or How to Connect a Jabber Client to the AIE server) thread to find out how to connect and ask your questions there! Just a reminder, the officers are thrilled to hear about new games that may be added to AIE, but would like to remind you that certain games currently have Non Disclosure Agreements and are not open for discussion on the forums. If you are playing a game and are under an NDA understand that any and all discussion on the topic may be shut down on the forums. A Book of Heroes Update: We have 12 coguilds bursting at the seams, plans to get 13 and 14 opened in the next few days! Please be patient as we try to keep this going in an organized fashion. A LOT of folks are playing this game! Bless and Curse you Dills! Also remember if the Alea Iacta Est guild name isn't in the book of heroes thread or Wiki, it's not an official AIE guild. Sale goes through the 28th, so act fast! An open apology to the EVE folks. I tried to look through the news postings to get some information on what is happening in the game, but to be honest I don't know what any of those terms mean! An example: Honeybadger Coalition, and therefore TEST, have officially reset standings with the CFC, by mutual agreement. There will be a temporary re-bluing at the weekend for evacuation of assets from Deklein. This is a news item, apparently! Alludra: In case you somehow are listening to THIS podcast and not any other of the great great Frogpants family of shows, official dates and times for Nerdtacular 2013 have been announced! [AIE NEWS BUMPER] AIE NEWS GO SLOW It's that time again! No not to read zod's funny flash cards, but it's time for a new guildie of the moment! Everyone give three cheers to Takemikazuch! Some of the amazing things said about Take-my-zucchini are: When I see a post by this member, it's usually one that makes me say, "this person understands AIE." Every experience I've had with him has been positive. He doesn't even get mad when he has to tell people over and over again how to say his name. Great guy, seems to have a good attitude, I'm looking forward to the many different butcherings of his name on the AIE podcast when he's announced as the GOTM. And to say congrats, here's a blast from the past with some special outtakes from Koltrane and the Raid Wrap-up.. [Play Koltrane Outtakes] It's Movie time for AIE! We have two different groups meeting up on December 15th for a screening of The Hobbit! If you are in the Southern California or Raleigh NC, then head on over to the meetup.com website and look for the Alea Iacta Est gaming community. Joining is free, and you can plan your own meetups easily through the site! Patch 5.1, Landfall, has finally arrived in the World of Warcraft! This patch includes numerous changes that impact pretty much everyone in game. Things like class balance and bug fixes are in there, but there have also been huge changes to the pet battling system, the new Item level upgrade system, the new brawler's guild that no one can seem to get into and we definitely shouldn't be talking about, scenario changes, and too much more to list. For more info, check the patch notes on Battle.net. We have a link in the shownotes. So Stu and Ayhood mentioned in the last show all about what was going on with the new Guild Dimension in RIFT. It looks like they've been rather busy getting ours all fancied up! Check out the full gallery for all the pics! Star Wars Free to Play dropped just a few short weeks ago. Grimbane and crew are trying to make The Secret World LESS of a secret to new players. They are trying to schedule and organize some early content nights to get people through content! We've launched into a new secret game, the Summer of Love is now happy memory, and we talk to a couple of RIFTers. All that and more coming up right now. THIS is the A-I-E Podcast... AIE NEWS The Summer of Love is over! We want to thank the event organizers, participants, and donors for such a wonderful summer of love! In case you missed an event check the forums; many players posted screenshots of the fun. Speaking of the Summer of Love, those who attended the Remembrance Day ceremony in WoW will recall the excellent firework celebration headed up by Takemikazuch. Tak asked us to pass along his thanks to the people that contributed to the tribute, including the numerous guildies for their material contributions and wonderful comments and remarks; and to the four volunteers who took time out of their lives to help him fire them off: Kavaar, Rho, Corellon, and Kutasez [cut-a-says]! New GOTM: Mobilehunter! Guildie Comment: I'd like to note Mobilehunter's generous donation of both her hearth cooldown and two chaos orbs I'd been carefully budgeting for. My play time is limited and small things like this can go a very long way for a player like myself. Sometimes it only takes one action to really stand out! If you would like to nominate someone for GOTM send an email to the officers! In the meantime head on over to the forums and give a big congrats to Moblilehunter. This is a reminder to all returning members that they have a UMAMI account! Everyone that was in the guild before the move to UMAMI was set up with an account, so there is no need to make another one. Your username is based on one of your character names or your forum name. To find your username and/or reset your password, go to the password reset page using the e-mail address you used to apply to the guild originally. Making a new account just adds work for the officers and means you may be stuck at pleb status for a few months. AIE World of Warcraft's great purge is beginning at the end of this month. In order to keep from running out of room, any characters that haven't logged in for over 5 months will be removed from the guild. If you have an inactive character that you want to make sure stays in the guild, just log onto them at least once before the end of the month. Starting in October, the World of Warcraft team will be going back to the old policy of removing all characters that have been inactive for 3 months or more. AIE's GERP system has yielded our first settled and active new game: The Secret World! Join the Templars, Dragons or Illuminati as they battle among themselves, or perhaps unite for the greater good now and again! AIE has branched into all 3 factions, because fortunately, the chat channels are cross faction. If you are playing on Arcadia, do a /chat join AIE and make sure to check the forum for more details! Plans for DragonCon are still underway! If you are going and haven't already stopped by the forums and the meetup.com site, then you are going to miss out on some great AIE Meetups! Also, check the MMO track schedule for the Extreme Guild Management panel led by our own AIE officers, and be sure to attend the MMO Party Saturday night. We're still planning a specific AIE meetup, but we've also decided we're going to just take over a table or two in the game room in the Hilton, so feel free to stop by there whenever you need to take a break. AIE wow is also opening a new co-guild. that's right, you loved salus so much there's not room for pandas anymore! This nomination is unique because it comes from outside AIE. yes folks, you can do that!!Vanflicke (80), guarded me (22) while I looted the trinket from Gurubashi. Unbeknownst to him, I am one of the co-GMs of UP IN SMOKE on my main. He represented your guild with excellence exemplary, and I would like to tell one of your officers of his actions. He has raised my respect for him and his guild. Remember guys, it's not only your behavior inside the guild that matters, but how you conduct yourself outside it too! And if you know anyone who should be nominated for GOTM please don't hesitate in sending the officers an email! In case you missed the forums update, the new section of the forums is really hopping! The “Imperium Ludi” section is where people are hoping to get interest in an AIE Expansion plan for one game or another. So if you are curious about how AIE decides what games to branch out into or if you want to join in on the discussion of a new game's likelihood of joining AIE head on over!Tak's Announcement :"The Remembrance Day Fireworks Tribute is coming along nicely! Within the first week and a bit the materials coming in were outrageous, so outrageous I have had to stop accepting materials weeks early than the deadline I had posted. Within that time span, over 5300 fireworks have been crafted, which, divided up among a five an pyro team amounts to between 53 to 54 stacks of fireworks per team member, which is insane!Tak would like to thank those who helped donate material for their time and effort, for it is you people that are helping make this happen! He's still seeking volunteers to help him set these off on the evening of August 2nd during the in-game WoW memorial at 10pm server time. Two people have already submitted names and he's looking for more! Meetings and rehearsal dates for the volunteers will be upcoming. I want each of you to find at least 5 AIE members randomly in Azeroth, and emote salute or hug them, but not Members of your raid team or your close friends!
