Today, Salt dedicated her Talk to sharing what she believes is a very important message. She hopes you agree with her. As Followers of Jesus Christ in spirit and in truth, we must SEE that the TIME to BE ABOUT our Father's Business like never before is NOW.
Recorded 04/28/2024: Pastor Larry Stephens brings a message from Acts 18:1-17 on the importance of the presence of Christ with His people. We can be encouraged to know the Lord Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us. By examining Acts 18:1-17, we are reminded, because Christ is with us... I. Be About the Lord's Business II. We Are Never Alone III. Keep Being Faithful and Plant Gospel Seeds. Here is the link to the bio of John G. Paton, Missionary to the once cannibals of the Island of Tanna. John G. There is a reason why we had to hear "Remember Your First Love". We need to remember what we felt, Be About the Action that resulted from what we felt and then Burn the Idols that we setup while we were distant from God. There was a reason for the reminder..."Let's Do It!" Our tongues and our anger begin to rule us, we stop embracing truth and enjoying fruit and we fail to utilize the Spirit's power or the power of community. Why? We leave...service ends, we leave. Consecration ends, we leave. Trouble passes, we leave. So instead, why don't we choose to stay?!

In This Episode, We Get Tactical About: - Meditations 9.5 - Being Virtuous vs. Virtue Signaling - Virtue is Hard, Virtue Signaling is Easy - There is Injustice in What You Do and in What You Don't Do - Stop Talking About it and Be About it Resources + Links: Connect with Kristofor on Instagram | @team_healey How can Kristofor help you become more indispensable? https://linktr.ee/krhealey Shoot us a message on Instagram with your biggest takeaway @team_healey Show Notes: On our Friday Debrief we recap the week, talk about the lessons learned and head into the weekend with a tactical advantage. In Meditations 9.5 Marcus Aurelius reminds us that “Injustice lies in what you aren't doing, not only in what you are doing.” What does this mean? Said another way, you can commit injustice by doing nothing. Virtue signaling is incredibly popular in our internet focussed society. You must emote on every current thing. You must be down for the struggle…nominally. As long as you don't have to, you know, actually struggle. Virtue signaling is a violation of the core Stoic practice of showing rather than telling. Virtue signaling is not virtue. Emoting does not make for a virtuous life. It is the same as doing nothing. If we begin with a commitment to virtue, an earnest commitment to doing the right thing, to serving the common good, to philosophical ideals, it requires us to act when we see injustice, not to talk about it. Virtue signaling is easy. Virtue is hard! Until Monday…Out of role!

Haunters have always had a strange fascination with evil. We love using the fear of evil to build a mood and get scares in customers. Our attractions regularly feature grizzly murders, demonic creatures, inhuman villains and much, much more. We even advertise how "evil" we are in a bid to draw more customers. Basically, the haunt industry has long used evil to sell itself and customers have grown to expect nothing less. But sometimes the evil can get a bit too real. What happens when the evil we reference in the haunt has real-life victims in the outside world? What happens when the terror we put into visitors stops being fun and games? If haunting is supposed to be about having fun, why is it sometimes it's anything but? Needless to say that this is a heavy, but we think important episode about the ethics in haunting and when, sometimes, a haunt can go too far for a scare. This week's episode includes: Ethics in ThemesEthics Within the Haunt ItselfSexual ContentEthics in Marketing and PricingWhat Haunting is Supposed to Be AboutAll in all, it's a bit of a rough hour with some hard conversations (and few answers). But it's an important dialogue to have here and elsewhere.
