Hello to you listening in Shah Alam, Malaysia!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds (and a bit more) for Motivate Your Monday and your host, Diane Wyzga. The beginning of a New Year can feel daunting. All those plans to kick start, days to fill, resolutions to keep, and more to do! There's no shame in admitting feeling a wee bit wobbly-legged about going forward in the face of wide open frontiers. What to do? Gain some courage by reversing your Bucket List. Instead of a list of what is yet to be done, what about a list of what you've accomplished from the littlest things that you felt made a difference to the biggest things you never thought you would achieve. You might begin by asking yourself:What made me proud? What have I learned? How did I transform my thinking about strangers to compassion and kindness?Who revealed the meaning of true love to me?Where did I find the hope and resilience to face whatever came my way? When did I feel most content or fulfilled? What would I do all over again just for the joy of it?What did I long for as a child? What have I created or, at least, not destroyed?Who have I lifted up?How have I defined my life? What dreams came true? And, which was I happy to leave by the wayside? What or whom did I fight for and why? When did I take time to play? In my experience the Reverse Bucket List invites us to pay attention to what we've done, won, gained, lost, learned and kept on living no matter what. It's proof that over and over again we have stepped outside our comfort zone to strive for something to do, someone to love, and something to hope for! Give it a go. Reverse your Bucket List and shine a light on you. You're always welcome: "Come for the stories - Stay for the magic!" Speaking of magic, I hope you'll subscribe, share a 5-star rating and nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, bring your friends and rellies, and join us! There is still much to learn about Parkinson's disease (PD), and it remains an ongoing challenge for scientists and researchers. The Parkinson's Foundation recognizes the importance of supporting new and innovative ideas to advance research toward a cure. Research takes time- from a conceptual idea to early laboratory work, with the hope of eventually progressing to clinical stages and, ultimately, a breakthrough. PD GENEration: Powered by the Parkinson's Foundation is a global research initiative that offers genetic testing and counseling to people with Parkinson's. The goal is to use the genetic data collected to accelerate current and future clinical trials aimed at developing better, more personalized treatments for Parkinson's. In this episode, we speak with Connor Courtney, Associate Director of Research Programs at the Parkinson's Foundation. He takes a deep dive into how basic science lays the groundwork for future research and highlights the importance of supporting young scientists throughout their career in Parkinson's research. We later invite Maggie Caulfield, Director of Research Programs, who shares recent key insights from the PD GENEration study and discusses current challenges in Parkinson's research. Together, Maggie and Courtney emphasize the vital role individuals can play by learning more about and participating in research. For the past several years Germany has been deconstructing their fossil fuel energy production and replacing it with far more expensive alternatives. This has led to large increases in overall energy prices, and downstream increases in manufacturing costs. The consequences have been snowballing throughout 2025, while cheap competitive alternatives coming into the EU from China have compounded their problem. Recently a survey of major industries was conducted in Germany to determine the forecast for 2026, the results are not good. Approximately half of the industrial sectors in Germany are anticipating job losses, cuts or layoffs this year. 22 out of 46 business associations are preparing to downsize their labor force. Only 9 of the 46 are expected to increase hiring. Job losses are expected in auto manufacturing, the textile sector, wood and paper fabrication. Job gains are expected in aerospace, shipbuilding and defense production – i.e. the war machinery. When the largest and most developed industrial economy in Europe is pinning its economic survival on war machinery, a particular momentum is created. It is never a good outcome for Europe when Germany becomes reliant on war to maintain employment. This pledge represents a fraction of historical U.S. contributions, which have reached up to $17 billion in recent years, with voluntary funding often in the $8-10 billion range. Administration officials describe the amount as sufficient to keep America as the world's top humanitarian donor while demanding greater efficiency from UN agencies. The funding will flow through an umbrella mechanism controlled by the UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), allowing targeted distribution to specific crises and countries. Initial priorities include 17 nations such as Bangladesh, Congo, Haiti, Syria, and Ukraine. Notably absent from the list are Afghanistan and the Palestinian territories, with officials stating Gaza aid will tie into ongoing peace efforts. Source: discernreport.com War/Peace Did US Land Strikes On Venezuela Begin Last Week & No One Knew It? President Trump on Friday in a radio interview disclosed something which missed the attention of the US and global media. He let slip that a large land site had been knocked out by a strike from US forces in the Caribbean – however without specifying which country was hit (whether Venezuela or perhaps Colombia). o According to the full remarks in context, the president said: “But every time I knock out a boat, we save 25,000 American lives. It’s very simple. And what’s happening is they’re having a hard time employment-wise, they can’t get anybody. And we just talked out, I don’t know if you read or you saw, they [Venezuela] have a big plant or a big facility where the ships come from. Two nights ago, we knocked that out. So we hit them very hard. But drugs are down over 97 percent. Can you believe it?” Some unnamed American officials suggested to the New York Times that the Commander-in-Chief was referring to a drug facility in Venezuela: Trump did not name the location of the facility, though American officials told the New York Times that the president was referring to a drug facility in Venezuela that was eliminated. The president's comment is the only report of such an attack. No other Latin American government, including Venezuela, has disclosed a strike of this sort. : Source: zerohedge.com Zelensky Wants 50-Year(!) Security Guarantee From Trump A major point of disagreement remains security guarantees. Ukraine has been pushing maximalist demands for something akin to NATO Article 5 protections. It would be like getting all the benefits of being in NATO but without being a formal member of the Western military alliance. The Ukrainian side has revealed that President Trump had offered security guarantees for 15 years following a peaceful settlement, but Zelensky considered this much too short to protect from future potential Russian aggression. But in classic Zelensky fashion, he wants way more than this. Also, maximalist demands are something that European leaders have backed him on all along – and they may have even put him up to. According to The Wall Street Journal: Kyiv had asked for security guarantees to last up to 50 years after the end of the conflict during weekend discussions. In the documents currently being discussed, the U.S. offered a 15-year guarantee with the possibility of extension, Zelensky said in audio messages to journalists on Monday. This year he focused on the country's youngest children and their families' need for high-quality child care.” The Obama administration was a gigantic money laundering operation. “The President explained the need in last Tuesday's address stating, “In today's economy, when having both parents in the workforce is an economic necessity for many families, we need affordable, high quality childcare more than ever.” “But the child care tax credit isn't all the President proposed.” “He would also significantly expand the Child Care and Development Fund(CCDF), a child care subsidy for low- and moderate-income families authorized under the Child Care Block Development Grant (CCDBG) Act. (CCDBG was reauthorized last year after 18 years.) By 2025, the proposed expansion would increase the reach of CCDF to an additional one million children, under four-years-old.” Taxpayers subsidies and grants for “childcare.” “The last part of the President's proposal, in typical Obama Administration-style, is a competitive grant that would promote innovation in the child care system. The proposed grants– totaling $100 million– would allow states to create pilot programs to determine the best ways to provide child care to vulnerable populations, including children with disabilities, parents who work non-traditional hours, and families who have difficulty finding high-quality child care.” https://newamerica.org/education-policy/edcentral/presidents-child-care-plan/ Taxpayers “grants” totaling $100 million (for starters) to be given to “vulnerable populations.” Can you say “Somali?” Taxpayers funding of “childcare,” was a “necessity” for the funding of the democrat party. The Somali community was always a hub of this “childcare” theft of taxpayers money. It was set up this way on purpose. A Somali community, governed by Somali's and protected by the democrat party. The Somali's were being brought into this country starting with the George W. Bush's presidency. But Obama began accelerating the number of refugees from Somalia along with other Muslim countries. Here's just the last year under Obama. “A total of 38,901 Muslim refugees entered the U.S. in fiscal year 2016, making up almost half (46%) of the nearly 85,000 refugees who entered the country in that period, according to a Pew Research Center analysis of data from the State Department's Refugee Processing Center. That means the U.S. has admitted the highest number of Muslim refugees of any year since data on self-reported religious affiliations first became publicly available in 2002.” “Just two countries – Syria (12,486) and Somalia (9,012) – were the source of more than half of fiscal 2016's Muslim refugees. The rest are from Iraq (7,853), Burma (Myanmar) (3,145), Afghanistan (2,664) and other countries (3,741).” https://pewresearch.org/short-reads/2016/10/05/u-s-admits-record-number-of-muslim-refugees-in-2016/ Obama was an installed puppet of Prince Alwaleed and was doing his bidding. Obama filled his administration with people tied to the Muslim Brotherhood, who were implementing their “civilization jihad.” These communities began electing corrupt representatives like Ilhan Omar. Infiltration not invasion. Taxpayers money was funneled into these communities through “childcare grants” and other “welfare programs,” in order to fund the democrat party. Minnesota is just the “doorway” into a much larger nationwide fraud scheme to fund the democrat party. A magnifying glass is about to be put on ALL state welfare programs that are receiving “federal funding.” These grants and benefits handed out to these crooks, are now the doorway to expose and bring them all to an end. That's why the Dems have been trying to destroy, obstruct, and kill Trump, ever since he came down the escalator. Because they knew that he knew about all this, and is on a mission to stop it. The American People are being replaced, and the Democrats are directly responsible for it. This is the battle for the Republic. It's very important that you take time for you (and no, I don't mean spa days and massages)... I mean time out to relax, even with a blanket, a drink, a good book and maybe an animal at your feet. We live in a fast-paced world nowadays whereby people don't know how to slow down or take time to just be. I AM.Focus, give yourself permission, journal, do breathwork, do EFT, pray - do whatever you need to do in order to replenish you and your mindset (which is also a podcast episode of mine #418 when it's live). Dear Dave, I went through a divorce earlier this year, and I was granted custody of our children. They're 13 and 18. The house we live in is paid for, and it's worth about 0,000. I also don't have any other debt. My ex-husband has been very good about paying child support, and I have 5,000 in savings. Should I be investing at this point? Michele Dear Michele, I'm really sorry to hear about the divorce. I know the whole situation, regardless of the financial situation, is very hard on you and your kids. “She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.” (Luke 2:7 NLT) Imagine for a moment that it’s your birthday and your friends and family have decided to throw you a party. It isn’t just any party. It’s a mega party. Everyone that you know is there. There are gifts galore and the largest cake you’ve ever seen. Your name is strung in lights outside the house. Pictures of you are on display. Songs with your name in them are playing in the background. But there’s just one small problem with your birthday party. Someone forgot to invite you. At first, you think it’s an oversight. You’re sure that your friends and loved ones want you to be there. But when you arrive at the party, the music is so loud and everyone is so preoccupied that no one opens the door, even though you’re pounding on it. Then you notice that some of the celebrants are looking in your direction. They discreetly whisper to others, who also look in your direction. But they go back to their celebration without stopping to let you in. What you don’t realize is that they’ve decided just to ignore you, hoping that you’ll eventually get tired of knocking and go away. They want to celebrate your birthday without making you the center of attention. They have their own thoughts about how to commemorate your big day, and they don’t want to make things awkward by trying to fit in the things you prefer. I think Christmas has become like this for many people today. They string their lights. They decorate their trees. They listen to Christmas carols. They run around buying things for everyone they know. But they forget to make room in their schedules for Jesus. You could argue that Jesus was an outcast from birth. Luke 2:7 says of Mary, “She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them” (NLT). The innkeeper decided who would enjoy the relative comfort and security of his lodging. Jesus and His parents did not get the invitation. Jesus had a heart for outcasts because He, too, was an outcast. Luke 15:1–2 says, “Tax collectors and other notorious sinners often came to listen to Jesus teach. This made the Pharisees and teachers of religious law complain that he was associating with such sinful people—even eating with them!” (NLT). Jesus welcomed people whom others shunned. He made room for everyone in His ministry. This Christmas, will you make room for Him? Unfortunately, even Christians can become so busy that we forget about Jesus. Let’s not make that mistake this year. Is there room in your Christmas celebration for Christ? Reflection question: How can you put Christ at the center of your Christmas celebration? In this episode, I explore the importance of truly stepping away from your membership business over the holiday season.I share personal stories and practical advice on setting boundaries and embracing rest, debunking the myth that constant hustle is required for success.I also discuss how taking a real break not only protects your wellbeing, but can spark creativity and increase your effectiveness as a membership owner in the new year.Tune in for actionable tips to help you (and your community) enjoy the festive period guilt-free.In this episode:Why is it essential for membership owners to take genuine time off during the holidays, rather than just reducing work hours? What are the consequences of always being available and not properly disconnecting from your business? How can you plan and communicate your holiday break effectively to your team and members? What are the benefits—both personal and strategic—to stepping back from your membership, and how can it set you up for success in the new year?Thank You For ListeningI really appreciate you choosing us and for supporting the podcast. What's your next step?If you haven't launched your membership yet, I've made my signature Membership Roadmap Course completely FREE, walking you through exactly how to get set up for success!Already have a membership and looking to grow and scale? Join me inside Membership Academy where I'll help you take your membership to the next level. And if you found this episode valuable, I'd be eternally grateful if you would leave an honest review and rating for the show. They're extremely helpful when it comes to reaching our audience, and I read each and every one!Key Quotes & Takeaways:"If you burn yourself out because you're not able to pull yourself away from your business, you're going to take all of that exhaustion, all of that resentment, because that will build. You're going to take all of that into the new year and that will absolutely bleed into every aspect of what you do. Your members don't want a version of you that's running on fumes, that's not rested.""When the brain is distracted by other things is when some of the best actual ideas and creativity comes up. When you take that time out, when you allow yourself to step back, you make space for those big ideas to show up.""You'll find that any time going forward that you want to take a break away, it no longer feels like it's a risk. It no longer feels like something you should be guilty about. You start to see it as a normal, healthy part of running your membership, because it is. And you'll come back from that break fresher, motivated, with a clearer idea of how the next year is going to look than you would if you'd spent the holidays balancing your laptop on your knee when you should be having Christmas dinner and enjoying the break."

In this episode I'm exploring why self-care for mothers often feels like an impossible task. It's not a lack of self-compassion or personal development that's to blame, but the invisible labor—those daily habits and tasks that women silently shoulder. This understanding is crucial for self-improvement; it helps us identify how to stop being a perfectionist trying to manage everything perfectly. To truly embrace self care, and to feel happy in our lives, we need to share these responsibilities, allowing us the space for growth and fulfillment.
