Gears and Beers: The Unashamedly Unprofessional Automotive Podcast
We're back for episode 105! This week we start off talking about the burping properties between Heineken and Great Northern, before sending out condolences to Mr. Ben Sewell who tore his ACL (rip). Then, Mitch breaks into a rant and argument about Matthew's comments from last week's episode about Porsche and turbocharging. Then Mitch goes onto another rant about BMW / Mini, and their false British-ness, then Matt rants about Mini, but about their ridiculous range - when all they need is 2. Joseph then brings up news about the Hyundai Genesis G70, and finally releasing their pricing/specs for the Australian market, and Matthew quickly talks about how his old Subaru Forester XT is still up for sale on CarSales. Joseph then talks a bit more about his new brake system, after getting used to it for another week, and Matt talks about how Garth Tander and his wife Christina Nielsen had a small bingle on track. Then Mitch talks about the sneakly little tricks that some of the Excel Cup teams use to gain an edge over the competition; from different ECU's, better engines, and milling out the ballast blocks. We then talk about LeMons racing, and what cars would make good platforms for LeMons or cheap car racing, and personalised plates and their extreme costs. Gears and Beers: The Unashamedly Unprofessional Automotive Podcast
We're back with episode 77, and a man down; Mitch isn't on this week because he scored a ticket to go see Jim Jefferies. However, Mr Ben Sewell of Pencil's Ballercast makes a return this week in place of Mitchell. This week, the boys start off by talking about absolute nonsense, before starting off with Matt talking about what he's done to his 105 Series this week, and getting it scratched last weekend. Then, just to mix things up, Ben talks about beer! He talks about Newstead Brewing Co.'s new beer 'Ale-y Oop'. Joseph then talks about a bit of news. He talks about the new Jeep Wrangler's 1 Star Euro-NCAP score. This then develops into a discussion about how relevant the 1 Star is to Jeep buyers. Somehow, Ben has Hyundai car news... Which is weird. Then Matt talks about Hyundai committing to hydrogen cars, Skoda dropping the price on the base Fabia, and Mazda coming out with an orange limited edition MX-5 starting at $38k, and Ford not selling as much of the 2018/19 Mustang as they'd hope. Then Joseph talks about Toyota once again teasing the GR Supra racecar, then he and Matt educate Ben on the Supra. Then Matt asks Ben to look up the Toyota Soarer and the Nissan Z32, then asks his opinion as to which is cooler. The boys then take a listener question from Ben's dad asking what's the deal with Joseph and Mitch's fascination with the Hyundai Excel Twin-Cam (X3). The boys then talk about the new Civic, and whether or not it'll age well. Matt then brings back a favourite segment, 'What About This Car' on the Chrysler Crossfire. www.gearsandbeersmedia.com www.facebook.com/gearsandbeersmedia
