Trek has just launched a versatile trail platform in its new Fuel. Riders here at CCM have been fans of the previous Fuel EX and the Slash enduro bikes. The new Fuel, which actually comes in three configurations, has elements of both of the preceding models as well as the 27.5” Remedy. In this episode of the Canadian Cycling Magazine Podcast, MTB editor Terry McKall speaks with three folks from Trek about the new Fuels. Ross Rushin, Trek mountain bike marketing manager, Dylan Howes, Trek mountain bike senior engineer and Trek marketing manager for Canada Taylor Cook get into the details about the expansive system for talking on all kinds of trails.The discussion turns to the project both McKall, and CCM photo editor and MTB tester Matt Stetson have been working on: a comparison between the Fuel LX model and EX one. McKall took the longer travel bike out on the trails of Vancouver Island, while Stetson played on routes in Ontario. You can check the video with McKall and Stetson's insights, after you listen to the pod.Trek offers three versions of the Fuel: EX, MX and LX. The Fuel EX and LX models both run 29” wheels. The former has a 150-mm fork and 145 mm of travel. On the LX, there's 160 mm of travel working with a 170-mm fork. Finally, the MX is a mullet bike (29” front, 27.5” rear wheel) sporting a 160-mm fork and 150 mm of rear wheel travel. To add to the lineup, there's also the new Fuel+ eMTB, which replaces the EXe. It is similarly available in EX, MX and LX versions with a new motor and battery. Mazda rolled its beloved MX-5 onto U.S. roadways just over 35 years ago. The most recent iteration rolled into the public eye a decade ago and launched formally for the 2016 model year. Over the last decade, this so-called ND-generation Miata has gone through some update cycles and added more features and power. The most recent update also gave the Maita a new steering rack and some updates to the interior. That said, the main design and philosophy of this fourth-generation Miata haven't changed too much from its launch almost a decade ago. The revised powertrain does add some welcome extra oomph, making 181 hp from a 2.0-liter I4 since the ND's first overhaul for 2019. I have had the pleasure of knowing Talli for many years; I took one of my first psychosexual trainings with her in Cambridge a decade ago. Talli initially worked as a PT in the US before changing directions and becoming a leader in psychosexual therapy, both clinically and from a research perspective. In this conversation we talked about the similarities, overlaps and also the differences in the two professions, and how setting boundaries for ourselves clinically and professionally can benefit not only the people we work with, but also our own professional stress levels.We also talked about various topics related to sexual health, pelvic rehabilitation, and trauma-informed care, emphasizing the importance of a more psychologically informed approach in these fields. We also explored the complexities of working with patients, particularly those experiencing pelvic floor issues, and the need for additional psychological support. In today's conversation , I have the pleasure of chatting with the phenomenal Dr Margie Davenport about her research, and driving the conversation forward to support female athletes in their pregnancy and postpartum journey.​We talked about Margie's journey as an athlete herself, to pursuing research particularly in the realm of postpartum physical activity​We also discussed the importance of creating a safe space for women to engage in physical activity postpartum, emphasizing the mental health benefits and the need to normalize exercise rather than pathologize postnatal recovery. ​Margie highlighted the evolution of guidelines and recommendations, with the consensus statement providing a more comprehensive approach to physical activity postpartum. Round five of the Pro Motocross Championship took place last weekend at MX 338, and yes, the results were the same in both classes, but all four motos were anything but boring! The stranglehold that Jett Lawrence and Haiden Deegan have on the 450 and 250 classes, respectively, is amazing, and we should all consider ourselves fortunate to be witnessing the performances that these two riders are putting on. On this week's podcast we recap everything that went down at Southwick, as well as at the Mini Monsters Lincoln Trail race.

Hunter was very close to securing the overall at High Point and he's on to talk about a crazy 2nd Moto that changed in quick fashion.
