Billy Molls is an amazing hunter and leader. Billy was brought up on a farm and surrounded by animals all of his life. His family and childhood inspired him to dive into this sport. Never being handed anything and always staying hungry drove him to hunt in Alaska. Here he dives into the experiences he has within hunting and exactly what moments facing wild bears actually feel like. Not only does he tell us about incredible experiences in the sport, but opens up about faith and how that plays a huge role in all aspects of life.
What is a mountain man? In days gone by, the mountain man was a rugged individual who carved his life out of the Rocky Mountains, Yukon or Alaska living off the land. Trapping, hunting, fishing and more. Many a boy grew up dreaming of living such a life, but few of us have pursued it with the passion and dedication as Billy Molls. Known as the Modern Day Mountain Man. Billy Molls has guided hunters across the Alaskan wilderness for more than two decades. Hunting Dall sheep and Alaskan-Yukon moose in the Brooks range, Grizzly bears in the western interior and Brown bears on the pennuslia and Kodiak island. Molls has lived a life many of us dream about. Chronicling most of this through a video camera, The Modern Day Mountain Man is a popular channel on YouTube and social media. Billy's open personality and willingness to share his struggles and his faith make his shows a "must-see TV" Today we discuss his life as a guide and his faith journey as he spends months each year in the wilderness of Alaska.
I hope you get something out of this conversation with the Modern Day Mountain Man, Billy Molls! Billy is an Alaskan big game guide, speaker, adventurer, father, and man of faith. You can follow some of his adventures on Youtube or catch him at a speaking engagement. Enjoy!

What is the key to consistency in hunting? For hunters that continue to find success on more hunts than not, what do they attribute that success to? Trust the Guide..... Billy Molls attended a Christian church throughout his youth. He left with little to no understanding of what he actually “believed”. Because of his experiences in the wilderness of Alaska, Billy's Christian faith is now central in his life: Billy has survived grizzly charges. An experience with a moose calf delivered him from a two-year bout with depression. Take a listen and be inspired!
