In this episode of the HUNTR Podcast, the guys sit down to share their thoughts on the 2024 deer season. As most of you know, we spend so much of our time preparing for deer season throughout the year. It's not just something we do for fun—it's a lifestyle. We live and breathe deer hunting 365 days a year. We put as much effort as possible into off-season projects to give ourselves the best chance of knocking down a mature buck every year. This year, we had success in both Iowa and Ohio, and it feels great to see all the hard work pay off. It's crazy how fast the season flies by, and you learn so much along the way. But like we always say, the best thing about deer season is that there's always another one coming. We hope you enjoy this episode, and we'll see you next time. The early split of the 2024 Iowa deer season for bow hunting came to an end last Friday. It is safe to say that this season left a major impact on the Raised Hunting crew. There were a lot of challenges to face during the 2024 deer season, Warren kept a tag in his pocket till December, Easton's target buck Gump just keep running and avoiding us a all cost, and the uncharacteristic weather began on day one of the season in October and continued through the final day. Even through all the warm November days, countless trail camera pictures, and some days of getting skunked in the tree stand, this deer season was a major learning experience. On this episode of the Raised Hunting Podcast, we dive into our biggest lessons for the 2024 Iowa deer season. We investigate some of the results from our new strategies we tried on our farms and how we can adapt them for the next season. From potentially adding more water troughs into crucial areas, to moving stands into more beneficial locations, the gears in the minds of the RH Crew are always spinning. We still have some late season opportunities here in Iowa and who knows, we still might have some new hunter adventures to close out the year! On this week's episode of the Pennsylvania Woodsman, Mitch is flying solo by the seat of his pants. With the holidays and hunting season, it's hard to get much of anything planned this time of year! On the road home from opening weekend of deer camp, Mitch recaps the past 10 days of hunting season. This includes a successful northwoods bear camp where the gang harvested 3 bears on the first 3 drives of opening day. Mitch delves into the backstory of why he believes this hunt was so successful, as the hunt Captain and good friend Clayton Good did an excellent job of scouting and strategically placing standers. Next he dives into the opening weekend of deer season at his camp in north central PA. With little scouting preparation going into this weekend, there needed to be a few cards in his favor for things to line up. Spoiler alert - the cards were subpar at best. Mitch discusses why the area he chose to sit on opening day was good, however it missed the spot by about 100 yards. Still hunting with a gun was also on Mitch's mind to level his odds and cover ground, but with snow and rain followed by temps in the teens, the snow became so crunchy it was nearly impossible to still hunt successfully. Moral of the story: there is plenty of season left, keep grinding, and be patient. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Mitch delves into the backstory of why he believes this hunt was so successful, as the hunt Captain and good friend Clayton Good did an excellent job of scouting and strategically placing standers.Next he dives into the opening weekend of deer season at his camp in north central PA.

This week on the Oklahoma Outdoors Podcast, John takes some time to talk about his 2024 deer season so far, and the challenges he has encountered. John has done a lot of hunting this year, but it's been different than in the past. With November coming to a close, John really hasn't spent much time hunting his own properties. He has only hunted his family ranch a handful of times, and with the warmer than usual temperatures, those hunts have not been very productive. John does talk about a quick trip he made to the ranch, and also about his trip to Texas and the close encounter he had with his recurve bow. There is still a lot of season left, and John is ready to buckle down and get serious now. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
