What is a mountain man? In days gone by, the mountain man was a rugged individual who carved his life out of the Rocky Mountains, Yukon or Alaska living off the land. Trapping, hunting, fishing and more. Many a boy grew up dreaming of living such a life, but few of us have pursued it with the passion and dedication as Billy Molls. Known as the Modern Day Mountain Man. Billy Molls has guided hunters across the Alaskan wilderness for more than two decades. Hunting Dall sheep and Alaskan-Yukon moose in the Brooks range, Grizzly bears in the western interior and Brown bears on the pennuslia and Kodiak island. Molls has lived a life many of us dream about. Chronicling most of this through a video camera, The Modern Day Mountain Man is a popular channel on YouTube and social media. Billy's open personality and willingness to share his struggles and his faith make his shows a "must-see TV" Today we discuss his life as a guide and his faith journey as he spends months each year in the wilderness of Alaska.

Benchmark indices turned sharply lower during the fag-end of the session, after staying flat for the better part of the day, as US stock futures indicated a weak session on Wall Street later today. Dalal Street investors took cues from Dow Jones Futures, which tumbled 160 points in early pre-market deals, and booked profit largely in metal, financials, and FMCG counters. S&P 500 and Nasdaq Futures also slipped 20 points and 60 points, respectively, suggesting a third straight session of declines in the US. That apart, weekly expiry of the F&O contracts added to the volatility. By close, the BSE barometer of 30-shares was down 338 points, or 0.68 per cent, at 49,565 levels while the Nifty50 index quoted at 14,906 levels, down 124 points or 0.83 per cent. In the intra-day trade, the indices hit a low of 49,497 and 14,885, respectively. Heavyweights HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Reliance Industries, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, TCS, and HDFC contributed the most towards the indices' losses as they declined between 0.5 per cent and 1.5 pe cent. Individually, Tata Steel, Hindalco, Coal India, Britannia, ONGC, IOC, Sun Pharma, Power Grid, UPL, and Tata Motors were the top laggards at the bourses in the large-cap space while M&M, Cipla, BPCL, IndusInd Bank, Titan, L&T, and SBI remained top gainers. Sectorally, metal stocks came under pressure today after China said it will strengthen its management of commodity supply and demand to curb any "unreasonable" increases in prices. Prices for commodities such as coal, steel, iron ore and copper – of which China is the world's biggest user – have surged this year, fuelled by post-lockdown recoveries in demand and easing liquidity globally. In effect, the Nifty Metal index tanked over 3 per cent with Tata Steel, Steel Authority of India (SAIL), and Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) sliding 5 per cent each, while Coal India, National Aluminium Company, NMDC, Vedanta, and JSW Steel declining between 2 per cent and 4 per cent in the intra-day trade. However, analysts suggest using these corrections as an opportunity to enter the stocks as fundamentals remain positive. That apart, the Nifty Bank, Financial Services, Private Bank, and FMCG indices slipped nearly 1 per cent each. On the upside, the Nifty Realty index remained gainer for the second straight day and ended 1 per cent higher on the NSE. Cheap valuations, however, drew investors towards smallcaps. The S&P BSE SmallCap index hit a record high of 23,093 levels in the intra-day trade today but closed at 22,980.5 levels, up 0.22 per cent. Among individual stocks, Automotive Axles, Gayatri Projects, Shakti Pumps, Pokarna, TV Today, TCI Express, Just Dial, H.G. Infra Engineering, Shivam Auto and Emami Realty rallied between 10 per cent and 20 per cent in the intra-day session today. The S&P BSE MidCap index, meanwhile, ended 0.12 per cent lower today. Among individual stocks in the broader market space, fertiliser stocks gained ground at the bourses on Thursday after the Centre increased its share of subsidy for di-ammonia phosphate (DAP) by 140 per cent from Rs 500 to Rs 1,200 per bag. Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals, Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers (RCF), Deepak Fertilisers, Coromandel International, Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals (GNFC) and Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals (GSFC) gained in the range of 3 per cent to 9 per cent on the BSE in the intra-day trade today. That apart, shares of Tata Coffee rose 4 per cent and hit an all-time high of Rs 185.80 on the BSE. The stock of the Tata Group Company surpassed its previous high of Rs 183.45, touched on November 29, 2017. In the past one month, Tata Coffee has outperformed the market by zooming 60 per cent, as compared to 4.5 per cent rise in the S&P BSE Sensex. Shares of JK Tyre and Industries on Thursday jumped over 6 per cent after the company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 194.96 crore for the March quarter of the previous
Host James Lott Jr talks about Chinese American character and actor Chao Li, who was on Falcon Crest!
In this episode we are talking about What You Want to Know About the Energy of TV. We are going to give you some really helpful tips and guidelines about what you consume and what it's really all about. 1:16 The Energy of TV Today we are talking about television and what you want to know about it’s energy. Nick Just a heads up, we're not here to tell you to stop watching TV because I know the title is like what you want to know about the energy of TV, but we’re going to talk through what TV can do to you. KISMA I think well done TV is a brilliant thing, so we're definitely not going to tell you to not watch TV ever. But we are going to give you some really helpful tips and guidelines about what you consume and what it's really all about. Nick 16:07 Everything Has an Energy So back to the whole title, the energy that is in the show you’re watching, the energy that the characters are putting out in the writing and the theme, it's coming right out of the TV onto you. KISMA The stories are so engaging that they wrap you into it in such a powerful way. Well your little brain just buys right in, and on a certain level you're very aware that you’re just watching a show, but energetically that doesn't change it. Everything has an energy. Nick 17:16 What You Consume It's really important when you think about what you consume. Nick What you consume, what you speak, what you think. KISMA Very much so. And when we're talking about TV, it wraps you in a different way and that's in your energy. It's in your brain and it's in your energy field. So like anything, we're not going to say don't do it, but you do need to be aware of it and make sure that you're not bingeing on the wrong things. Cause you probably know how you feel when you're bingeing on that. You know, you feel uneasy after that and you take that energy with you into your sleep and into your dreams. Like it can be really disruptive. 19:39 Tips and Guidelines I recommend cutting cords and do your best to not have the TV on in the bedroom. We just don't have a TV in our bedroom. I recommend not. And I definitely recommend not turning it on first thing in the morning. Don't watch the news. It's like it's all infiltrating. Not just your energy, but your room energy. KISMA That's a really good point. It's not just you. It comes into the environment. Nick Any other tips or guidelines for the energy of TV? KISMA Yeah. Keeping good company. When you think about keeping good company, that's not just the people. It's actually the good company of your environment, the things in your environment and certainly the media that you consume. Just try to moderate as best as you can. Secondly, like Kisma says, use the cord cutting technique that we've taught many times.Cut your cords to release that energy. Nick 24:12 Let Yourself Enjoy It The last piece of advice is know what you're getting into and if you're going for it, just go for it. Really let yourself enjoy it. Nick
Indian markets began this week with a negative bias as bears took charge and dampened sentiment on the back of weak global cues. Selling pressure was seen in banking, metal and pharmaceutical counters while IT shares witnessed some buying interest. On the derivatives front, call writers added hefty open interest at 11,400 and 11,500 strikes while put writers added marginal open interest at 11,300 and 11,200 strikes. On the technical front, secondary oscillators suggest that the market could trade in a volatile manner with Nifty likely to consolidate in the range of 11,200 to 11,500 levels and Bank Nifty within the range of 22,300-23,300 levels in the coming sessions. For the upcoming week, we expect that the 11,400 to 11,500 range would remain crucial and would act as a major hurdle for Nifty. However, bulls could make a comeback only if Nifty manages to give a decisive move above 11,500 levels. Till then, stock-specific action would remain on the radar.
Feels like we are living in different Phases but somehow only Ryder got a haircut. Thankfully, all Phases have Pumpkin Bread! In the What Are You Kidding stories, “meat cleaver massage” is now a thing, a “Karen” freaks on a mom for letting her kid drive a riding toy without a driver’s license, the newly-refurbished Golden Gate Bridge makes a ghostly sound, and a bar uses bedsheet ghosts as social distancing. Sam Hunt’s “Hard to Forget” leads Fitz to hold a Yodel-Off between us all. In the Hourly Bulletin, Sunday protest turns violent against Seattle police, a man drives into a crowd of protesters and shoots someone on Capitol Hill, masks now required for employees in businesses across the state, local shopping malls are preparing to open. In the Fitz Files, Ryan Seacrest’s health scare may lead him to stop travelling even after quarantine, Lizzo plays flute for “Graduating 2020”, the real band behind “Tiger King'' gets a record deal but it’s more “Tiger King”, ABC has “Bachelor Best Of”s starting tonight. In The Good Stuff, a police officer stopped during a protest to speak to a little girl who was afraid of him and let her know that he was there to protect her, and she is OK to protest. Elmer Fudd has lost his gun, as Warner Brothers removes it from new Bugs Bunny cartoons and replaces it with a scythe; we take your calls. Who In The Group Is Most Likely To…sacrifice everyone else in a Zombie Apocalypse or be the least affected by “Save The Dogs” Ads on TV? Today’s Troop Salute is Captain Arthur Jackson USMC. On Wheel of Wake Up we called a random coworker, Carlie in Promotions, at 4am just because. Ryder and Drew are trying to teach Shade how to use Tinder; Fitz and Claire make fun but, well, yeah, look over their shoulders. Monday Motivation has some uplifting quotes to get your day started right.
As VP of data and research for NYI - the ad sales interconnect in the country's biggest DMA, Betsy Rella likes finding the stories in the numbers – the takeaways she extrapolates from surveys and data sets that NYI can use to grow the advertising business. And, at a time when the world, literally, is home and when those numbers say that New Yorkers are consuming more video than ever, that information is key. Since everyone in media/marketing is also playing catch up on their knowledge base and business insights, I asked Rella for a download on trends in consumption and a 101 on how media buys are planned and sold differently these days. Always wanted a solid definition of "Impression-Based Buying"? You got it. How that differs from "Holistic Media Planning"? Done. We also talked about the very definition of TV today, how media companies need to assess all the ways and places people are consuming video (and whatever they call TV), the rise of CTV ("connected TV") and why Cuomo Prime Time is consistently topping the ratings along with all kinds of news programs. It's actually a little beyond a "101", so get the "201" on today's shifts in media buying and planning from a data and research exec who has worked at ABC, Lifetime, MTV, Weather Channel, Ispos and TiVo! Listen to the full podcast, and please subscribe wherever you love to listen (And speaking of RATINGS - a bunch of stars for Insider Interviews with E.B. Moss on Apple would be appreciated!) Key takeaways: On TV: "You could be watching on your TV set, you could be watching on your phone, you could be watching on your computer, you could be watching on your iPad. And Nielsen classifies different types of households: a home that is a cable home or an over the air home or a broadband only home. But people are still buying TV sets. So, in some ways it's still TV, but there’s more content is available, whether it's through ad-supported cable networks or paid channels. On Impression-based Buying: "With the dawn of new technologies, phones, tablets and so on, and the ability for consumers to engage with content on all these platforms, the game has changed as has the need for advertisers to flight campaigns across these multiple platforms. Because, of course, if you can't measure it, you can't sell it! If you look at Nielsen data, overall time spent with video is relatively flat over the last two years. But what's changed is how people are viewing: we see a decline in live plus time shifted TV, but an increase in viewing on connected devices, smart phones and tablets. So, this begs the question, how do you measure all the viewing across these many platforms so you can report back to the client in a more unified way? Using impressions unifies linear and digital, and also eliminates any ratings discrepancies from using different universes." On TV Consumption as we #StayHome: "Usage levels have surged across multiple day parts and it's not just adults -- we're seeing growth in teens and 18 to 34s as well. Ratings are up, of course, for news networks across the board, not only in early morning, but all dayparts, even overnight. as we're seeing people staying up later than they were before. We're seeing live TV up. DVR playback up. And streaming in New York is up 44%. That's a pretty big number and was measured just a few weeks ago." On the Need for and Challenge of Holistic Media Planning: "Right now you get TV in one place, digital in another place. Ideally you would have one platform where everything's feeding into it in terms of your TV piece, your digital piece, your OTT piece, your set top box, video on demand piece. Part of it involves legacy thinking and workflows that have existed for decades, and quite honestly, the systems themselves. It all needs to feed into one platform so you're not operating on a siloed basis." On Advertising and Brand Marketing Now: "Consumers say they want brands to share information on how they're supporting their staff ...

And this series turns out to be "more than meets the eye" as far as what it portrays...but you have to hear about it as only the Golden Stallion can present it! Also, some important "shop talk" in the beginning. Check it! ============= https://zog.email

I have a huge guest on this edition of Squared Circle Pit, Eric Bischoff – the guy who ran the show in WCW during its heyday. We talk about licensing music for the nWo, what the conclusion of the nWo angle was supposed to be, working with KISS, his plans for the WCW Big Bang PPV that wasn't and we get really deep into why it's so hard to get television clearance for a wrestling company that isn't WWE. It's an absolutely fascinating listen if you're a wrestling fan, and even if you're not. Eric is going to be appearing at the inaugural Astronomicon, a pop culture convention taking place in metro Detroit at the Wyndham Garden in Sterling Heights, MI (34911 Van Dyke) from Friday, February 9 thru Sunday, February 11. More info and tickets available at Astronomicon.com. Check out previous Squared Circle Pit interviews about wrestling with Slipknot's Corey Taylor, Chris Jericho, NJPW star Kenny Omega, Cannibal Corpse's George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher, Jamey Jasta, Every Time I Die's Andy Williams, Zakk Wylde, Killswitch Engage's Mike D, Converge's Jacob Bannon, Neurosis' Scott Kelly, former WWE announcer Justin Roberts, ROH star Frankie Kazarian, EVOLVE booker and former ROH booker Gabe Sapolsky, and more. -It looks like Kevin Spacey's career might be over. Apparently, he has used his status to harass numerous people over the years. It's rumored that he might be investigated by British police for other acts of sexual harassment. This is such a sad ending to a great career. Of course, I feel for the victims, and I also feel for Spacey. Everyone has been destroyed by his behavior including himself. -I also talk about the right way to audition. Is there a right way? I think so. -Finally, I explore my opinion on the changing state of television right now. In my opinion, the existence too many programs are having a diluting effect on overall quality. I hope everyone had a spectacular Thanksgiving! A little help please: if you enjoy this podcast, or even if you don't, please consider, becoming a patron by subscribing for $5 a month. As the holiday season heats up, Liz and Ben are forced to confront that these days, there's no easy way to give someone a television show. Are they Luddites for not embracing the streaming era? Or are they missing an obvious solution?
From boss babes (Lannister and Lyon) to delightfully weird women (Belcher and Baskets), Moms on modern television are basically unstoppable. Natalie and Maren discuss some of their favorite mothers on TV today and what the future holds for these characters. They also dream up their ultimate “Mom Squad,” and decide which fictional moms help represent their real-life moms … without offending them, hopefully. And this week in fangirling: Maren is riding a high over her own web series idea and Natalie is loving a “tale as old as time” for the second week in a row. *** Brought to you by TV Time: http://bit.ly/2rxbrSz Fangirl Merch: https://fangirlfridayspodcast.threadless.com/ Instagram: @fangirlfridayspodcast Facebook: @fangirlfridayspodcast Twitter: @fgfpodcast

This week's episode goes off the rails quite quickly, thanks to a revelation by Rob Ford that Tony and Gary can't quite get over. It is unexpected, insane, and very, very funny! Also: Gary has difficulty peeing (and NOT for the reasons you're thinking!); the “Best of TV Today”; Tony's GREAT radio idea; and Gary and Tony go to a listener's house party! This episode is a gas!!!

In the mid 1980's it was always extremely difficult to balance the programme bearing in mind the varying listener interests. Most of the feedback came from South Asia, North America, Europe and the Pacific, so compiling an edition to interest someone in Bombay as well as Boston was challenging. Following my trip to Victor Goonetilleke in 1985, we experimented with some special Asian editions of the programme which were only broadcast to Asia at 1430 UTC. They had very different content, focussing mainly on South Asia. The programmes brought mixed response. Some said they liked the fact that we highlighted issues affecting South-Asian listeners. But there was an equally strong lobby that said the reason for tuning in to a European station was to find out what new technologies were being used there. They thought we should not single out a particular area as being a special case. In the end, we limited the number of special opt-out programmes, prefering to do "media safaris" to various regions of the world and making the programmes available to all target areas. In this edition we looked at the different approaches taken by foreign radio manufacturers in India. Philips set up Philips of India and made radios locally to match the buying power of that market. The Japanese, on the other hand, did not share their technology and would only build screw-driver assembly plants in India using components shipped from Japan. In the end, the Indian engineers had the last laugh. They quickly became the engineering entrpreneurs in the Middle East, South-East Asia and Silicon Valley leaving the Europeans very much in the shade. On later visits to Delhi it was obvious that operations like TV Today and NDTV didn't need any help from "developed countries". They were well ahead already. Only Indian state TV and radio remains firmly stuck in the 1960's, strangled by its own bureacracy. When was the last time you listened to All India Radio?
We go back in time to visit lil' Jonny McGovern writing fake tabloid articles for TV Today and scripting the life of his sit-com alter ego, Jon McQuin. House diva Maxine Inniss joins us for the entire show! Brought to you by Audible.com.
