The doorbell camera captured a masked, armed figure at the front door. The FBI recovered the footage. Blood confirmed as Nancy's was on the porch. A pacemaker signal went silent at 2:28 a.m. Her phone, wallet, and daily medication were left inside the house. Discarded gloves were found two miles away. Drones went up. Dogs went out. More than a hundred investigators eventually worked the case. The reward climbed to $1 million. And after all of that — no arrest. No publicly identified suspect. Nancy Guthrie is still missing.Jennifer Coffindaffer spent a career at the FBI reading scenes most people never have to picture. She walks through the forty-one-minute window that defines this case — doorbell camera disconnect at 1:47 a.m., a person detected at 2:12, pacemaker signal lost at 2:28 — and explains what those timestamps reveal when you line them up the way an investigator does. She examines what it means when a case opens this clean, with this much physical and digital evidence, and still produces nothing the public can see moving forward. The masked figure is specific. Ski mask. Gloves. A jacket. A holstered handgun. A 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack — the FBI says it's sold exclusively at Walmart. He discovered the camera in real time and covered the lens with weeds pulled from Nancy's own yard. That footage was released on February 10. The man has not been publicly identified. The investigation's trajectory has been marked by inter-agency friction and credibility questions. The FBI Director publicly stated the bureau was denied access for four days. The Pima County sheriff disputed that account. The sheriff's resume scandal and a recall campaign have further complicated public confidence. The canvass contamination questions remain unresolved.Nancy Guthrie was 84 years old. She depends on daily medication. Every passing hour without that medication is a countdown. Coffindaffer addresses what the first hour tells an investigator, where the holes are, and why a case that should have been solvable from the evidence at the scene remains frozen.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary
The Nancy Guthrie case has a piece of evidence the public still hasn't been allowed to hear: the 911 call that started everything. The family walked into her Tucson home around midday, realized she was gone, and was on the phone with dispatch within minutes. That recording is the front edge of the entire investigation — and to this day it's still locked away.Former FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer joins Tony Brueski to dig into the evidentiary spine of this case: the doorbell camera that went dark at 1:47 a.m., the figure the software caught at the door, the pacemaker that dropped its signal at 2:28 with her phone left behind. Biological material was recovered at the home. Gloves turned up nearby. DNA went to the lab. And a specialized tracking tool was deployed to try to pick up a signal from the device inside her chest.Coffindaffer gets into what investigators typically protect when they hold a 911 call this long, what that biological evidence can and can't establish, and why a fast, by-the-book opening doesn't guarantee a fast resolution. This is the detail-level conversation — the one that treats the records as the witnesses they are.For listeners who want the evidence laid out clearly instead of the noise around it, this is the segment. An 84-year-old woman vanished from her own home in the middle of the night, and the physical trail she left behind may be the strongest thing this case has. Listen for what it's actually telling investigators.Footer Links:Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? In this episode Chris and Melissa dig into one of Chris's favorite PCB design topics: pocket masking vs. gang masking on fine-pitch components.Chris explains why solder mask slivers matter, how PCB design tools can accidentally create manufacturability problems, and what designers can do to help prevent solder bridging during assembly. The discussion covers solder mask expansion, registration tolerances, stencil printing, pick-and-place placement pressure, and why “gloves, not mittens” is the mental model to remember. The episode also opens with a few updates, including Chris becoming a Certified Electronics Program Manager and CircuitHub announcing a $28 million raise from Plural Ventures.TL;DR: For fine-pitch components, especially 0.5 mm pitch and smaller, pay close attention to your solder mask expansion.Chris's rule of thumb:Start checking at 0.5 mm pitch or smallerAim for 10 mil spacing between copper pads, edge-to-edgeReserve 3 mil for solder mask registration on each sidePreserve a 4 mil solder mask sliver between padsIn metric, that means roughly:0.25 mm copper-to-copper spacing0.075 mm registration allowance on each side0.1 mm solder mask sliverIf space is tight, Chris recommends trimming the copper lands slightly rather than sacrificing the solder mask sliver. The sliver is what helps prevent solder from bridging between pads during printing, placement, and reflow. The short version: protect the solder mask sliver. Gloves, not mittens.pickplacepodcast.com
Weather Golf: Mud, Rain & Misery Jeff goes full meteorologist, explaining how weather absolutely wrecks your game — distance drops, mud adds side spin, and TV never shows how bad it really is because half the shots are pre‑recorded. The guys talk about: • Why mud on the ball is basically Mother Nature saying “good luck, buddy” • How to stay safe when the course turns into a Slip 'N Slide • Why rain golf is character‑building… or at least story‑building Swing Thoughts & Mental Game Simplification Jeff shares coaching wisdom from the trenches: The fewer thoughts you have, the better you play. They break down how simplifying your swing and ball position can turn a struggling golfer into someone who suddenly looks like they know what they're doing. Towels, Gloves & Staying Dry Without a Caddy Rain round survival school is in session. Jeff and John cover: • The “weave your towel through the umbrella” trick • The “stuff it inside your jacket” backup plan • Rotating gloves like a Vegas blackjack dealer • Why worn‑out gloves are basically a confession of bad grip habits • And yes… buying gloves in bulk is not only allowed, it's encouraged Mountain Golf Destinations Jeff goes on a tour of his favorite elevation‑heavy golf spots across the country, including: • Pine Canyon (AZ) • Cliffs at Glassie (SC) • French Lick (IN) • Wolf Creek (Mesquite, NV) Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. In Shakespeare's plays, he uses the word "gauntlet" a total of 6 times. In one instance, the stage directions declare that a character "throws down his gauntlet." In Hamlet, stage directions again refer to a gauntlet by saying that attendants bring "foils and gauntlets" into the scene of Act V. But do you know what you should be seeing on stage in these moments? Do you know what object Shakespeare expected the characters to be carrying for these scenes? Gauntlet sounds like a military exercise or maybe a very difficult journey through several tough obstacles, and there's a variation of this word which means exactly that—but that kind of gauntlet is for another episode. Today, we're looking at the kind of gauntlet that was actually an article of clothing—a glove, to be precise. A highly decorated ornate glove that came all the way up to the wrist of the wearer and was designed to protect the hand against wounds. To find out more about what these gloves were made from, who made them, and exactly why a character would throw one down on the ground in Shakespeare's Henry VI, we are talking with Hannah Marples, clothing historian and author of the project "Experimental Archeology: testing the wearability of a pair of gloves worn by Henry Cary in a painting by Marcus Gheeraerts the Younger, 1603" Hannah joins us today to help us explore the history of gauntlet gloves, and how they connect with Shakespeare and his plays.

They also dive into Rai's wholesome story, his iconic double gloves and iron covers, and the sweet moment with his wife after the win. John's monologue delves into the contentious issue of redistricting and its implications for voter representation. He shares insights from Jim Clyburn, who bravely addresses the challenges posed by attempts to redraw his district. John argues that Democrats must stop treating their political power as something to be wielded cautiously and instead recognize that the stakes are higher than ever. With the future of democracy hanging in the balance, he calls for a new generation of fighters within the party who are willing to challenge the status quo and advocate for the needs of everyday Americans. Next, John speaks with Professor Corey Brettschneider about the rush for redistricting, birthright citizenship, and age limits for the Supreme Court. And last but not least, MS. Rhonda Hansome returns to joke with the gang about the latest mishigas and the hell we are enduring in Trumpland.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

After a difficult 2025 campaign split between the Red Sox and Phillies, Walker Buehler signed a minor league deal with the San Diego Padres this past February and successfully pitched his way onto their 2026 Opening Day roster. Through his first four starts of the season, the 31-year-old right-hander has logged a 1-1 record with a 4.58 ERA, a 1.25 WHIP, and 18 strikeouts across 17.2 innings. While he's still working on finding his peak command following his post-surgery struggles over the last couple of years, he's showing some highly encouraging signs of bouncing back. Most notably, he just secured his first win as a Padre on April 16, tossing five strong innings and striking out a season-high seven batters against the Mariners. He joined Gwynn & Chris for his Friar Friday debut!

Four weeks after Savannah Guthrie's 84-year-old mother was kidnapped from her Tucson home, there's no suspect in custody, no confirmed identification of the man on camera, and critical evidence has yielded no actionable leads. The DNA should have been a breakthrough. Gloves recovered two miles from the scene contained genetic material from an unknown male. But it didn't match anyone in CODIS. Genetic genealogy—the technique that solved the Golden State Killer case—could eventually provide answers, but the process takes months. Whether investigators are even pursuing that route remains unclear.Nancy's pacemaker offered another potential lead. The device emits a Bluetooth signal detectable from over two hundred yards away. Search teams flew helicopters specifically scanning for that signal across the Tucson area. They found nothing. The silence suggests troubling possibilities: Nancy could be somewhere the signal can't penetrate, the pacemaker may have stopped functioning, or worse. The suspect's face has been everywhere. Every major network has broadcast the doorbell footage. Fifty thousand tips have flooded in. Yet somehow, not one person has successfully identified him. No coworker. No neighbor. No one who has ever crossed paths with this man has come forward with information that led anywhere.Robin Dreeke, a 21-year FBI veteran who served as Chief of the Counterintelligence Behavioral Analysis Program, addresses the dysfunction narrative. The crime scene released early. Blood photographed by reporters before federal agents secured the property. Evidence routed to a private lab. Contradictory public statements. Dreeke's assessment: this friction is normal. Multi-agency investigations always have this tension. The difference is that America is watching this one.Resources have drawn down. The home was returned to Nancy's family. What does that actually mean for the case?Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary
You've been flooding us with questions about the Nancy Guthrie disappearance. Tonight we're answering them—no guests, no filter, just the facts and what they tell us.Four weeks. An 84-year-old woman still missing. A suspect captured on camera whose face has been seen by millions. Fifty thousand tips submitted. And somehow, not a single person can identify him. How is that possible? Not one coworker, neighbor, family member, or casual acquaintance has recognized this man and come forward. We break down what that absence of identification actually means for the investigation. The DNA evidence has hit a wall. Gloves recovered two miles from the scene contained genetic material from an unknown male. No hit in CODIS. Genetic genealogy is an option—but it takes months, sometimes longer. Is that pathway even being pursued? And what about the mixed DNA found inside Nancy's residence?Nancy's pacemaker has a Bluetooth signal detectable from over two hundred yards away. Search teams flew helicopters specifically scanning for that signal. They found nothing. The implications are grim: either she's somewhere the signal can't escape, the device has stopped working, or something worse. Then there's the investigation itself. Robin Dreeke, who spent 21 years with the FBI including time as Chief of the Counterintelligence Behavioral Analysis Program, offers insider perspective. The crime scene released before the FBI secured it. Blood photographed by reporters before federal agents arrived. Evidence sent to a private lab instead of Quantico. Contradictory statements about basic facts. Dreeke says this level of friction exists on almost every major case—we just don't usually see it.The resource drawdown. Operations moving to Phoenix. The home returned to the family. What do these developments actually signal? We're live with answers.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? What is it that really makes us healthy? Is it regular trips to the doctor, a swift diagnosis, and medicine when we need it? Or do we need a more holistic approach? Today's guest believes it is the latter. Dr Gemma Newman has been a family doctor in the NHS for 20 years. She is regularly invited to speak and teach all over the world and is incredibly passionate about treating body, mind and spirit as one - and this forms the basis of her brand new book, Get Well Stay Well - The Six Healing Health Habits You Need To Know. Like me, Gemma increasingly found that her conventional medical training wasn't yielding positive results for many of her patients - so she decided to take a more open-minded approach, studying nutrition, psychotherapy and a range of other holistic methods and combined them with her conventional medical practice. And, very soon, she began to see radical transformations in the health of her patients. It's this holistic method that Gemma explains in our conversation today, using the acronym GLOVES - which points to six key areas of life we can address if we want to get well and stay well. They're ways of thinking, being and doing that should be front and centre in our lifestyles, and, of course, we discuss them all during our conversation together. Crucially, Gemma, believes the first step in any effective, lasting behaviour change is finding self-compassion, and her approach will help you trust your inner wisdom, feel more in control, and stop outsourcing your wellbeing to the doctor's surgery. And in a world where ‘wellness' often comes with a hefty price tag, her suggestions are all free. Gemma writes and speaks from the heart and I think you will really enjoy this conversation. This episode, first aired in 2019, brings you the story of John Scott, the professional hockey player that every fan loved to hate. A tough guy. A brawler. A goon. But when an impish pundit named Puck Daddy called on fans to vote for Scott to play alongside the world's greatest players in the NHL All-Star Game, Scott found himself facing off against fans, commentators, and the powers that be. Was this the realization of Scott's childhood dreams? Or a nightmarish prank gone too far? Today on Radiolab, a goof on a goon turns into a parable of the agony and the ecstasy of the internet, and democracy in the age of Boaty McBoatface.Special thanks to Larry Lynch and Morgan Springer.
