Januar 2021) an. It's time for the debut of a new show on The Marshall Pruett Podcast as Inside The Sports Car Paddock, a weekly interview format where drivers, team owners, engineers, and more bring us inside their world following major events like last weekend's Rolex 24 At Daytona, and other happenings spanning North American, European, and Asian sports car racing. Our debut episode opens with CORE autosport race engineer Jeff Braun who breaks down the team's incredible efforts to get their Nissan Onroak DPi to the finish line, the reasons why heavy rains made it impossible to continue racing, and whether the first red flag should have been the final red of the day. BMW Team RLL technical director Brandon Fry is next on the guest list as he details the program's win in the GT Le Mans category, the steering column issues that struck the sister BMW M8 GTE entry when Alex Zanardi climbed in for his first stint, and more from a 24-hour contest that had highs and lows for the German brand. The final interview in our debut episode goes to A.J. Allmendinger, who had a busy weekend pulling double duty driving a Meyer Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3 in GTD and sprinting up to the NBC Sports broadcast booth between stints. BMW's new twin-turbo V8-powered M8 GTE offers the most unique sounds in IMSA's WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, which made going for a high-speed ride from inside the car with John Edwards and Jesse Krohn in the BMW Team RLL GT Le Mans entry an absolute requirement at the Mid-Ohio round. Gears and Beers: The Unashamedly Unprofessional Automotive Podcast
It's Shit Beer Week! We think the shit beer did something to us, not only were we off the rails, the rails were absolutely nowhere to be seen! Off the rails, and off our chops it would seem!We argue a lot this week, more than usual believe it or not (blame the shit beer). We argue about the new BMW M8 GTE and somehow tangent on to the Honda S660... Mitch loses his mind over the Mercedes AMG Project One, which again turns into an argument. Joseph talks about the new Hyundai Genesis G70 sedan, which we all think looks spectacular (spoiler alert). We marvel at the Bugatti Chiron's Zero to 400 to Zero world record, we talk about the update to the Subaru Impreza and we fall in love with the new pocket-rocket Suzuki Swift Sport. Before we end, we talk about how we will be attending Wolrd Time Attack Challenge, which is under a month away. We'll have a lot of stuff to talk about after the weekend, and hopefully will record a podcast with Will from the Boosted Autos YouTub
