This week's episode: A recap of Scott Dixon's win in the Honda 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and a preview of this weekend's IndyCar doubleheader at Iowa Speedway.
Send us a textWhen six-year-old Lena Chin attended her first race at Sebring, something clicked—the sights, sounds, and energy of motorsport captured her imagination completely. Nearly two decades later, she's become a competitive force in the Gridlife Touring Cup Series, piloting her Honda S2000 against some of the best amateur racers in the country. In this illuminating conversation, Lena pulls back the curtain on the unique world of Gridlife racing—a grassroots series that blends competitive motorsports with music festival energy at iconic tracks across America. Far from the polished corporate atmosphere of professional racing, Gridlife offers an accessible yet fiercely competitive environment where drivers compete on street tires while building a tight-knit community that feels like family.Lena's journey reveals the evolution of success in racing—from chasing trophies to measuring growth through consistent improvement, rising from 20th place to consistent top-10 finishes against fields of 50 cars. Her Honda S2000, built by AD Smedgard Motorsports with a transplanted K24 engine and full racing modifications, represents the technical side of the sport, while her interactions with young female fans highlight the human impact of representation in a traditionally male-dominated space.Beyond the adrenaline of wheel-to-wheel competition, Lena shares how she balances racing with career and personal life, finding renewal through time spent at Chicago's lakefront and exploring the city's diverse neighborhoods. She offers listeners a glimpse into memorable racing moments—from night racing at Daytona to recent podium finishes at Mid-Ohio—and announces an upcoming women-only track day at Gingerman Raceway designed to welcome newcomers to the sport.Whether you're a seasoned racing enthusiast or simply curious about the human stories behind motorsport, Lena's perspective offers a refreshing look at modern grassroots racing and the women proving they belong on track. It was quite an eventful day at Mid-Ohio for Conor Daly, and he's back on Speed Street to give us the lowdown. He joins co-host Chase Holden to recap his on-track incident with Santino Ferrucci and the rest of his weekend with the Juncos Hollinger Race Team. Conor reports that he had his best road course qualifying effort of the year and felt incredibly optimistic about the team's progress before the contact with Ferrucci caused him to lose 11-seconds in track position and took him out of contention for a good finish. Conor also gives listeners some insight to his recent test at Iowa and what can be expected at this weekend's double header.Mid-Ohio race winner Scott Dixon joins the show to chat about his ability to capitalize on Alex Palou's late race mistake, which parked him in victory lane for the 59th time in his IndyCar career. Scott explains he was struggling with tire wear at different points in the race and wasn't sure how the two main strategies would play out before he saw a dust cloud from Palou running off the track. From there, he deployed his hybrid boost and push to pass to gain a major run on the 10-car, which ended up being the winning move of the race. Scott also talks about celebrating with his son Kit at the track for the first time, his takeaways from the recent Iowa test and his expectations for the rest of the 2025 season.

Welcome to our motorsports podcast where we discuss F1, IndyCar, IMSA, NASCAR, our own racing adventures, and some other adventures! This one is for the older guys - Nico Hulkenburg, Scott Dixon, and Shane Van Gisbergen show the younger guys it can still be done!Although both McLaren drivers dominated the British GP with Lando taking the win, it was Nico Hulkenberg who made the headlines as he scored his first career F1 podium finish after starting 19th on the grid! It was a wet and wild grand prix that tested the strategists to their limits. The experience and good timing from the Sauber pit wall helped launch Nico far up the grid to grab the team's first podium since Kamui Kobayashi at Suzuka in 2012.Indycar went to Mid-Ohio where it was the Chip Ganassi show by the end of the race. Alex Palou leading within the final 10 laps and Scott Dixon behind after saving fuel to make a two stop strategy work from starting 9th on the grid. With the laps winding down, Palou makes a rare mistake by going wide and off the track slightly which slowed him up enough that Dixon was able to capitalize and get ahead of Palou for the eventual win! Dixon is the third race winner for this season but this win now makes it 21 consecutive seasons with a win for Scott Dixon!NASCAR was at the park in the windy city of Chicago. SVG dominated the weekend in not just the Cup series but in Xfinity as well. This is two wins in the season for SVG now which moves him up in the standings for the playoff picture.Coming up this weekend: NASCAR at Sonoma, IndyCar is at Iowa for a double header, IMSA is at Mosport, and WEC is at Interlagos.
Tonight, on Trackside with Curt Cavin and Kevin Lee, they recap Alex Palou’s costly mistake from Mid-Ohio to give Scott Dixon his first win of the season. They later talk about what to expect from this weekend’s doubleheader at Iowa following testing from there not too long ago. They also talk about the challenges Iowa will have like last year. In the second half of the show, they talk answer fan questions on X about Josef Newgarden being unhappy and more future tracks potentially coming to the 2026 season. Then to wrap up another edition of the show, Kevin answers more fan questions about the 2026 season schedule and talks about who could drive for McLaren at next year’s Indy 500 since Kyle Larson has ruled it out. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

(26:58-36:23) – Jake announces that Keving Pritchard will be meeting with the media within the next hour. Plus, he dives further into Jay Huff because it could have an impact on who the Pacers bring in to round out the center position. (36:23-44:09) – The first hour of the program concludes with Jake and Eddie highlighting some things that stood out this since their last show between another dominating performance by Joey Chestnut, a driver in Formula 1 recording his first podium finish, and the IndyCar race yesterday. (44:09-1:06:37) – The Dean, Mike Chappell, from CBS4 and FOX59 joins the program to discuss which team has made the headlines the most this offseason, examines the future of Alec Pierce and Bernhard Raimann with both players entering the final year of their rookie contracts, and comments on how he expects Carlie Irsay-Gordon to operate this season when evaluating the futures of Chris Ballard and Shane Steichen. (1:06:37-1:16:03) – Chris Perkins from the South Florida Sun Sentinel joins Query & Company as the next Company Camp Caravan stop to discuss the offseason for the Miami Dolphins, where things are at right now with Tua Tagovailoa heading into the season, his perception on the Indianapolis Colts, and gives his win prediction for the upcoming season for the Dolphins. Finally back after a couple weeks! Vacations and sickness are behind us now and we are geared up for NASCAR's Street Race in Chicago! We go over everything we missed from the last couple weeks from Mexico City and Pocono and make our picks for Chicago. IndyCar runs Mid-Ohio this weekend and we go over the last couple races from St. Louis and Road America. NHRA ran a couple races while we were away. F1 is in action from Silverstone this coming weekend and we talk all about the last couple races from Canada and Austria! This episode is packed and it's good to be back!

Send us a textRound 9 is in the books!! Still only two race winners!!Tune in to get John and Michael's opinion on the race from scenic Elkhart Lake Wisconsin.John was on a solo (Red Solo) mission this year, but was able to beat the heat and have a great race. Michael watched from his AC cooled couch and took in the FOX feed live (well slightly delayed). It was another incredible win for Palou who can get the job done no matter the circumstances. Have a happy 4th and check us out after the race at Mid-Ohio.
Welcome to our motorsports podcast where we discuss F1, IndyCar, IMSA, NASCAR, our own racing adventures, and some other adventures!Maximum chaos happened this week and no it was not from NASCAR...well IMSA has a NASCAR tie now so I guess it still is. Anyways, a return to the streets of the very tight Detroit street circuit for IndyCar and IMSA where cautions certainly bred cautions. One incident took out the untouchable IndyCar and Indy 500 Champion, Alex Palou. The Indy 500 win curse continues at Detroit as another winner fails to go back to back the following race weekend. However, another repeat winner for the season as Kyle Kirkwood had the dominant pace this weekend. Over in IMSA, a new BOP has been applied and even though the favored manufacturer won it was not easy. Last minute overtaking in the closing moments had to be done which gave an entertaining finish as Acura took the win in GTP. Ford won in GTD Pro.Formula 1 went to Spain for their final race for now at Barcelona and it was spicy mainly due to the late Safety Car. We discuss the race in two parts and discuss the incident!aaaaannnnndddd Blaney wins at Nashville for NASCAR.Coming up this weekend: NASCAR is at Michigan, Supercars is at Perth, some of IMSA is at Mid Ohio, and MotoGP is at Aragon.
