FOLLOW UP: MOTOR FINANCE COMPENSATION SCHEME PAUSEDIn what should be a surprise to no one following the story, thanks to the legal challenges of the Financial Conduct Authority's proposed compensation scheme for customers who were impacted by illegal practices by those who arranged their finance, that this has now been partially paused. Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) rose to a market share of 30% for the month, but still only 25% year to date. There was also a jump in private registrations. The Alfa engine has been tuned to provide, in normal Stradale trim, 612bhp, but if you want the track focused Trofeo model there is 740bhp. Weight has been stripped out too, with the Stradale coming in at 1590kg and the Trofeo ending up at 1490kg. UK GOVERNMENT IN TALKS WITH NISSAN OVER SUNDERLANDOnce again the UK Government is in talks with Nissan about helping the company to secure the future of the Sunderland plant. The unveiling of a new electric supercar from Ferrari sharply divided the internet Tuesday morning as traditionalists decried the design as “an Apple product on wheels” and supporters praised the luxury brand's bold attempt at a reinvention. Ferrari's unveiling of the Luce—a $640,000 speedster and its first ever electric model—sent shares down around 6% Tuesday morning as the brand's fans slammed the new model as an abandonment of its identity, specifically noting its aggressive styling. The car was designed in collaboration with former Apple designer Jony Ive and his business partner Marc Newson, who are credited with designing the Apple Watch, and the pair brought a distinctive Silicon Valley style to the Luce. There are more issues as well, but CARIAD has addressed some of them. However, they have not acknowledged the work of the researcher or paid them a bounty which is unacceptable behaviour from a company like the Volkswagen Group.
