Starting with the Bobo doll, Al describes how modeling was the basis for gratuitous television violence effects on children. For him, learning by modeling is connected to self-regulation and human agency. Albert Banderas' famous Bobo Doll experiment sought to challenge the ideas of his predecessors. Psychologists had for years assumed that learning was primarily achieved through positive and negative reinforcement. However, Banderas' findings challenged this behavioralist idea. His findings are still being used today by education specialists to help students learn.
