Revelation 19:11-16
If you would like additional information, books, or if you would like to make a love donation; please visit us at https://www.walkinginpower.orgThe study of the book of Revelation, also known as the apocalypse (meaning "uncovering" or "unveiling"), focuses on revealing truths hidden from unbelievers. The speaker emphasizes that this prophetic book is structured chronologically, covering "things that were, things that are, and things that are to come." Understanding its symbolism often requires knowledge from the book of Daniel. The prophecies within Revelation can operate on multiple levels; for example, the judgment of the seven churches in Chapters 2 and 3 refers both to seven literal churches and to seven successive church ages. The study will involve "hopscotching" to other Scriptures (like Matthew and Thessalonians) to place the rapture and the second coming of Christ in the correct historical sequence relative to Revelation's chapters.Dr. Bern Zumpano ties the imminence of the prophecies to a biblical chronology known as the "week of the Lord," where one day equals a thousand years. By this timeline, the periods from Creation to Abraham, Abraham to Moses, and Moses to Jesus each cover roughly two days (2,000 years), totaling four days by the time of Christ. This explains why the Apostle Paul referred to his time as the **"last days"—**only two days remained until the Lord's rest on the seventh day (the millennial reign). The most significant sign indicating the end of the age (not the end of the world) is the parable of the fig tree, which is identified as the nation of Israel. Jesus stated that the generation that sees the fig tree "put forth its leaves" (i.e., Israel restored as a nation) will not pass away until all end-time events take place. Since Israel became a nation in 1948, Bern illustrates how the world is in the final generation preceding Christ's return and the seven-year Tribulation period, which Revelation primarily addresses.
This message explains Jesus' teaching in Matthew 24 about the End Times, given privately to His disciples on the Mount of Olives. Jesus reveals that prophecy is meant to be understood and outlines three phases: immediate events, the Tribulation, and ultimately His Second Coming. Scripture shows that after unparalleled global distress, Jesus will return visibly and powerfully, fulfilling numerous Old Testament prophecies. His return will bring judgment on a world hardened in rebellion, while His words remain infallible, inerrant, complete, and authoritative. While the Church will be removed before the Tribulation, the generation that endures those final years will witness these signs unfold. Jesus emphasizes that although no one knows the exact day or hour, believers must stay watchful, faithful, wise, and ready—not focused on the Antichrist but on Christ Himself. The call is to live prepared, because His return is certain and life is uncertain.
The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe and the early part of Advent focus on the coming of Christ at the end of time. As Christians we hope for our salvation through Jesus Christ and in the Jubilee year it is most appropriate to place our hope in Christ. Listen to Fr. Frank Donio, S.A.C share more in this segment of the Son Rise Morning Show on Sacred Heart Radio, about how we hope in Christ as we prepare for his Second Coming to restore all righteousness.Advent refers to the coming of Jesus Christ in time and at the end of time. We look forward to commemorating his birth into this world at Christmas and we look forward to the coming of Christ at the end of time where he will usher in the new heaven and the new earth. During this time at the end of the calendar year, we put our hope in Christ as the pathway towards our salvation and we pray that he will enter more fully into our lives today, so we can help serve him more completely. Pastor Scott Ardavanis preaches a sermon from Titus chapter 2 verse 13 on the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Section 133 received Nov 3, 1831 in Hiram Ohio Historical background - By November, 1831, Joseph had compiled many of the Lord's revelations which would eventually become a Book of Commandments, later known as the Doctrine and Covenants. On November 1, 1831, the Lord revealed a “Proclamation” to the world which became the preface to the Book of Commandments, or section 1. Two days later, on November 3, 1831, the Lord revealed an appendix to the Book of Commandments, or section 133 which is a prophetic declaration of what must occur prior to the second coming of Christ. Recap: Christ will appear suddenly in his temple. The saints must flee from Babylon and gather in Zion. Christ will stand on Mount Zion with his 144,000. The continents will become one land and the lost ten tribes will return. The gospel will be preached worldwide. Christ will appear in red apparel. The righteous shall be resurrected and the New Jerusalem will be established while the wicked will be destroyed by fire. Section 134 declared and adopted Aug 17, 1835 in Kirtland Ohio Historical Background – On August 17, 1835, the church held a conference in Kirtland, Ohio to accept the Book of Commandments as scriptural revelations from God. Also, due to the political turmoil and abuses of power, especially the disregarding of constitutional rights and privileges that should have been afforded the saints, it was felt necessary that a statement of beliefs in Governmental laws should be included in the Book of Commandments. Joseph Smith was in Canada at this time and was not present at the conference. Therefore, Oliver Cowdery wrote section 134 outlining the role and purposes of earthly government. This was presented to the saints and it was accepted to be included in the Book of Commandments but as a declaration and not a revelation. When Joseph returned and reviewed the document, he allowed it to stand as is because the saints had already voted their approval during the conference. Recap: Governments are instituted by God for the benefits of mankind and should preserve freedom, protect rights, life and property. Laws should be administered fairly and equally. The people are bound to obedience to the laws of the land. Punishments should be made according to the nature of the crime.

by Elder Buddy Abernathy (preached on May 7, 2025) In the last half of Revelation 19, John writes about the second coming of Christ. Most of the time when we read about the Second Coming in Scripture, we focus on the Resurrection of God’s children. However, in these verses, we see Jesus returning in judgment...

What is the Power of Christ Consciousness? How can you feel it? How can you understand who Christ was? Was he here to die for our sins? Or was he here to manipulate karma? This is a very different view of Christ, who he was and why he was here. Understanding Jesus Christ can help us to have a better understanding of who this great being was and how grateful we all are to have had him in our world.

Send us a textWhat does it mean when Jesus says, "I am coming soon"? For many, those words spark fear, uncertainty, or confusion. But in Revelation 22, they are not a threat--they are a promise. In this Ascension Sunday message, Pastor Jason explores how "soon" is less about clocks and more about certainty and readiness. With grace-fueled urgency and heartfelt honesty, we are invited to examine the condition of our hearts--not through fear, but through the cleansing work of Christ. The question is not when Jesus is coming...the question is: are we ready?Whether you are new to faith or feeling distant from it, this message offers hope, clarity, and a call to live like the King is returning--because He is.Linkoln shares his story on why he started coming to Ravenna Church of the Nazarene and shares why you should consider doing the same.Ravenna Church of the Nazarene530 Main Street, Ravenna, KY 40472The Dirt Path Sermon Podcast is a place for real sermons that speak to real life.
