It's not just kissing money goodbye, but there is a harvest (increase) the Lord adds to us through our generosity. However, just like planting a garden, once you plant,  there is cultivation of the seed that is necessary. This is the watering process. Just as Paul mentioned in 1 Corinthians 3, “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.” It's God's responsibility to bring the increase, but it's our responsibility to plant and water the seed. The world has a definition of generosity, but we say it like this: Generosity is having NO LIMITS. There is a life of abundance and radical generosity that God calls us to. And when we learn to lean into that Grace, God accelerates us in ways we couldn't even imagine. Support the show

2 Corinthians 9:8 says, “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.” So, there's a facet of the grace of God that launches us into a life of abundance and generosity. We are right with God because of the Blood of Jesus. It's not a place we achieve, but a position with God we receive. Right standing with God is a gift. That doesn't mean that sin doesn't have consequences, but when we do sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus. Some argue that the Tithe is strictly an old covenant principle. That because we are no longer “under the law” they assume the Tithe doesn't apply to us. However, the principle of the Tithe far predates the law. What we are redeemed from is the curse of not tithing. Scripture says “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law.” (Galatians 3:1) But, there is a life of blessing the Lord has for us that is only accessed through the Tithe. Support the show

God's economy works differently from man's economy. There are principles of generosity that produce an increase in our lives. A life that is unifying, freeing, loving, strategic, intentional, and missional. It's a life fully supplied by God– spirit, soul, and body. In other words, there is a joy to our generosity.  Support the show

So, let's talk about money. Yes, money can be a sore subject in church, but Scripture says a lot about the subject. We have to ask ourselves, “If we really believe God has our best interests in mind and He has some stuff about money, should we spend time listening to what He has to say?” Our answer is yes! The truth is that God not only calls us to a life of radical generosity, but He also calls us to excessive increase. God wants to teach us to both give and receive from Him. But, it can only be done His way. Support the show

God wants you to grow in the gifts He placed in you. But growth isn't automatic and only happens in the confines of the One who gave us those gifts. One of the biggest ways we develop is simply by showing up and sacrificing time to put God's kingdom above our priorities. When we set time aside to put God first, we, in turn, grow into the person He created us to be. Support the show

God is calling us to Himself. He's calling us to embrace a relationship with Him and spend time in His word. But, throughout the centuries, people have made excuses and wrongly prioritized things in their lives of God. Support the show
