Some argue that the Tithe is strictly an old covenant principle. That because we are no longer “under the law” they assume the Tithe doesn't apply to us. However, the principle of the Tithe far predates the law. What we are redeemed from is the curse of not tithing. Scripture says “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law.” (Galatians 3:1) But, there is a life of blessing the Lord has for us that is only accessed through the Tithe. Support the show

God's economy works differently from man's economy. There are principles of generosity that produce an increase in our lives. So, let's talk about money. Yes, money can be a sore subject in church, but Scripture says a lot about the subject. We have to ask ourselves, “If we really believe God has our best interests in mind and He has some stuff about money, should we spend time listening to what He has to say?” Our answer is yes! The truth is that God not only calls us to a life of radical generosity, but He also calls us to excessive increase. God wants to teach us to both give and receive from Him. God wants you to grow in the gifts He placed in you. But growth isn't automatic and only happens in the confines of the One who gave us those gifts. One of the biggest ways we develop is simply by showing up and sacrificing time to put God's kingdom above our priorities. God was very intentional in His design and when give way to alternative truths, it opens the door to the destruction in our lives. If you've been in church any amount of time, you may have read some stuff that seemed a little extreme in the Old Testament. Not just the Ten Commandments, but rules from shaving your beard to not eating shellfish. What things actually apply to us as New Covenant believers under grace? “God is sovereign.” A phrase commonly heard in all of Christianity. But, where does it come from? What does the scripture actually say about God's sovereignty? Jesus is not only our Savior and Lord but also our teacher. Scripture says over and over again about how He went from town to town teaching. One of the many things He taught was how we pray. John 17 is a beautiful demonstration of all Jesus taught about prayer in action. It's an account of one of the longest recorded prayers from Jesus in Scripture. We are in a fight. A fight for righteousness, holiness, and truth. It's not a fight against people but FOR people. Scripture says “Walk as children of Light (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth)... Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them;  for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light. Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil.” (Ephesians 5:8-15)Right now, darkness is trying to enshrine itself in our country. From lies and misinformation in legacy media, the mass genocide of the unborn, the mutilation of children, to attempted assassinations of political leaders. Now is our time to be salt and light in our community. To stand with God's way of life and to bring healing and hope. Support the Show.

2000 years ago Jesus prayed for us. He prayed for YOU. And that prayer is still having an effect on us today. What did He pray over us? How are we coming into agreement with that prayer? Support the Show.

Jesus is the Son of God. But, scripture also calls Him the Son of Man. Understanding how Jesus operated as a man is crucial for us because He told us to go and do the "same works" that He did. God needs believers in places of influence. God is able to put knowledge and skills in you so you stand out above the crowd. The question is are we honoring Him? God will put you in places of influence where you have an impact in the culture and people's lives. Support the Show.

There are times and seasons in our lives that can feel hopeless. Moments where it seems like we're not going to make it through. But, it's in those moments that test our trust in God.
