The 2025 Pro Motocross Nationals get underway this weekend at Fox Raceway and both classes are stacked with contenders. In the 450 division, we have lots to look forward to as Saturday will mark the return to action of both Lawrence brothers and Eli Tomac and the American motocross debut of Jorge Prado. Of course, you can't count out defending 450 Champion Chase Sexton who has plenty to prove after narrowly missing out on the Supercross Championship, or new SX Champ Cooper Webb, for that matter. Who do you see winning this weekend? Comment below!
Presented by 6D Helmets When Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha's Eli Tomac brake his leg at the Tampa Supercross in February, fans around the globe groaned with disappointment that the eight-time AMA Champion was again sidelined with injury. After having his fibula plated on February 14, Tomac initially told us that he hoped to return to racing in time to get some gate drops in the final rounds of the Supercross championship in order to be ready for the May 24 Pro Motocross kickoff at Fox Raceway. After getting back on the bike, however, ET decided that his time would be better spent training at his Cortez, Colorado, ranch in preparation for an all-out assault on this summer's series, and he told us in today's podcast that he is 100% up to speed and has never come into a motocross series so prepared. Tomac also told us that this most recent injury, coupled with how great he felt before it, has changed his mind about 2025 being his last year of racing full time. "I am not done racing," he said, with certainty. But hit play already and hear him say it himself! Thanks for checking out the 6D Helmets Midweek Podcast, on a Friday. Ha!
Jorge Prado has found ClubMX in South Carolina a great place to learn more about his new Monster Energy Kawasaki KX450. Jason Weigandt chatted with Prado after his second day riding Club's "OG sand track." Prado, the four-time World Motocross Champion, missed most of Monster Energy AMA Supercross due to shoulder surgery, and will have about four weeks of riding to be ready for round one of Pro Motocross at Fox Raceway. Is that enough? Is he confident? Let's find out. The Racer X Exhaust podcast is presented by Yoshimura, Insta360 Cameras, OnTrack School and Racer X Brand.

If you're thinking about converting your dirt bike or dual-sport into a rally racing or lightweight ADV weapon, check out their Rally Moto Kit for a true bolt-on, Dakar-race-proven nav tower/fairing system that is made in the USA. Our first pre-race interview of 2022 is with 2021's biggest success story, American Skyler Howes. After two stellar privateer Dakar efforts (fifth overall in 2021), the friendly desert racer finally got the call to suit up for the Factory Husqvarna Rally Team this year. And while it seems like this is where the fireworks fly and the champagne pops for Howes, he's far from celebrating just yet (ok, he did buy a truck to celebrate a bit).In this candid interview recorded at the Kurt Caselli Foundation's annual Ride Day at Fox Raceway in Pala, California, we chat with Howes about his relationship with the late, great Caselli and how some pieces of sage advice are still inspiring him today. We also get his take on the newest and future Dakar Rally rule changes, what he's looking forward to (and not looking forward to) about the upcoming race course, how the all-new Husqvarna rally bike is, and, of course, how awesome it is to be a FREAKING FACTORY FREAKING RALLY FREAKING RACER!Don't miss this show featuring a special pre-interview chat with Quinn Cody about his time with Kurt Caselli, the Kurt Caselli Foundation work he's been a part of, and some of his early memories of young Skyler pulling holeshots in the pro class against 450's on a two-stroke!Thanks, Cycle News for making this possible!

He also talks about how he didn't test a lot on the KTM last season because he was just a rookie and was new to the 250 four stroke model and the team just wanted him to get comfortable. Max also talks about the new factory addition KTM 250SXF. We talked to him when it was about a month away from Anaheim 1 and he had only a few days on the bike so not a lot of experience on this new model yet for him but he was very optimistic about it.
The Keefer family breaks down the 2021 Cal Classic MX weekend at Fox Raceway as well as talk about which amateur prospect impressed them the most, what every amateur needs to work on, why some amateur motocross promoters just don't get it and a whole mess of other amateur motocross stuff that you may need to know about.

Presented by Pro Taper Last weekend's Dirt Bike Kidz Fox Raceway MX National kickoff was one for the ages.

Even when word got out that the GEICO Honda team might have to close up shop, everyone knew Honda would find a place for Jett Lawrence. The 17-year-old Australian is the hottest prospect in the sport after a rookie pro season that saw him nearly win his third supercross race, then cap the year with a Lucas Oil Pro Motocross overall win at Fox Raceway. Plus, his off-track persona gives him popularity beyond his results. This week, Jett's Honda HRC factory 250F ride was announced as official, as was his new deal with Red Bull, which led to a cool video where he rides a half-width supercross track. Jason Weigandt rang up Jettson for a conversation about his new ride, his 2020 season, and the strange small-world story of training with Ken Roczen's dad back in the day. Last weekend's Fox Raceway MX National went off without a hitch and both classes saw first-time National Champions crowned in dramatic fashion. We also had first-time winners, first-time competitors, and new rivalries spark up out of nowhere. We covered it all in this week's Pro Taper Kickstart Podcast. Enjoy!
In this episode I breakdown all the motos at Fox Raceway, how the championships panned out, announce this weeks winner of our Pick'Em Challenge, and we tease some of the stuff we are going to talk about leading up to the 2021 Supercross Season. Presented by FLY Racing Tevin Tapia had a horrible crash one month ago at Fox Raceway and broke a few vertebrae in his neck. Luckily, the long-time privateer did not suffer paralysis. Instead, Tapia lost control of his left leg but maintained feeling throughout his body. After 10 days in the ICU, Tapia was relocated to a rehabilitation facility and has continued to make progress. We gave him a call today to get an update on his recovery and were pleased to hear some great news.
Presented by FLY Racing Life changed for our buddy Tevin Tapia at around 9:30 a.m. on August 7. Out for a day of moto at Fox Raceway with his dad, Rod, Tevin went to size up a triple jump with a deck landing but was sent into a violent endo when he landed in softer dirt than he had anticipated. On impact, Tapia broke his C6 and C7 vertebrae in his neck and initially, could not feel his legs. Thankfully, Tapia gained his feeling back as he was being transported to the hospital. In the ICU, Tapia's neck was fused by surgeons to stabilize the vertebrae. Currently, Tevin is in a rehabilitation center in Murietta, California, and he has minimal movement in his left leg. It's going to be a long road to recovery, but Tapia is grateful that it was not worse and he is impressively optimistic and upbeat.
Presented by FLY Racing Unless you've been living on a deserted island for the past several years, you have undoubtedly seen (and heard) the small electric stability cycles known as STACYC. Equipped with small electric motors and throttles, the little bikes have allowed countless youngsters to develop their two-wheeled motor skills sooner. What does this mean to the motorcycle industry? Future growth, of course, as the STACYC bikes make the transition onto a mini bike a practically seamless affair. Yesterday, KTM and Husqvarna debuted a line of officially licensed STACYC bikes at Fox Raceway, and we were able to sit down with STACYC CEO and inventor, Ryan Ragland, and his wife, Brandy. The story is interesting and inspirational, as Ragland is a friend of ours from his early days as a mechanic for the Red Bull KTM race team! Even if you don't have a youngster who rides a STACYC, this is a great listen. Enjoy!
