Olly Stone grew up in Europe obsessing over motocross mechanics — not riding, wrenching. He taught himself on two-strokes, polished his spokes at 3am watching GPs from Japan and Australia, and eventually earned his way to America. Pro Circuit. Justin Barcia. Austin Faulkner. Then team principal of the Troy Lee Designs GasGas program — until KTM pulled the budget overnight and ten years of work disappeared with a phone call. Now he's back. New team. New facility. And it's moving faster than even he expected. In Chapter 402, Olly breaks down what it actually takes to survive as a European mechanic in American moto, what made Mitch Payton's Pro Circuit the standard for everyone else, the brutal reality of how factory programs end, and the new program he's building from scratch — including a shop in Corona and a riding facility in Florida that's already turning heads.Enjoy Chapter 402 — like, subscribe, and drop a comment below.IN THIS CHAPTERWrenching at Pro Circuit under Mitch PaytonWorking with Justin Barcia and Austin FaulknerTroy Lee Designs GasGas team principal — and how KTM ended itHaiden Deegan vs Austin Forkner at the test trackBuilding a new Supercross team from the ground up in 202600:00:00 Intro00:02:35 Welcome Olly Stone00:03:31 How Olly Found a Career in Motocross00:18:26 Cash App Ad00:20:04 The English Built Dirt Bike00:32:04 MXGP has no rules00:33:06 Ducati Doesn't get enough Credit00:37:58 Betting Everything on MXGP00:53:40 The Grind of MXGP01:03:38 The Work Culture at Pro Circuit01:10:01 SOTA Fuel Ad01:10:40 Olly's first job at Pro Circuit01:17:14:23 Early Days Working for Pro Circuit Kawasaki01:26:43 Mitch Paytons Drive to Win01:31:34 Cooper Webb VS Tyler Bowers01:33:32 Working for Prime Austin Forkner01:43:55 Austin Forkner was faster than Ricky Carmichael01:48:58 Deegan Couldn't beat Austin Forkner01:50:57 Motosport Ad01:52:47 What was Austin Forkner Missing?02:00:02 Why Everyone Love's Dean Wilson02:02:17 Why Olly Left Pro Circuit Kawasaki02:05:12 Justin Barcia Destroy's Equipment!02:09:35 Why Racers love Broken in Bikes02:10:46 Becoming Crew Chef of Troy Lee Designs GasGas02:16:08 Forced to Leave Troy Lee Designs GasGas02:27:32 Why MX6 Racing is so successful02:29:35 MX6 Racing's Breakout Supercross Season02:37:43 Fist Handwear Ad02:39:08 Privateer Riders on a "Factory" Program02:43:48 Building a Top 5 Supercross Team02:51:41 Buying Justin Barcia's Property02:54:18 The Cost of Running a Supercross Team03:09:24 From Factory to Privateer03:14:03 Closing

Keefer and Pro Circuit team up to create a stage one engine build that gives the rider a noticeable amount of power on the track but still is smooth enough to keep an "easy to ride feel". What is involved into such a build? Is it comparable to an SR? Can you run pump fuel? All of those questions and more will be answered in this show. Keefer will also break down what Pro Circuit can do to your suspension and how you can get more comfort as well as hold up within your KX450 SHOWA suspension.
Hoppo talks about his time at Pro Circuit and Honda HRC, coming over from Aussie, the art of the cone pipe, what he's doing now, Dave Feeney, stories from the road and much more.

Motos&Friends is brought to you by Daytona Bike Week Teejay Adams recently rode three entry- intermediate-level Hondas: the Rebel 300 with e-clutch; the CB650R also with e-clutch, and the NC750X with DCT. In the first segment this episode, Teejay tells us what an e-clutch and DCT are, and also what she thought of these three bikes and how they handle this exciting new technology. Even if you're a seasoned rider, you will still want to hear all about e-clutches and DCT, it might be exactly what you want even though you don't know it yet! * * * * * In this episode's Snippet Janet Kersey and Brain Bentley from the Daytona Beach Visitors Bureau, tell us about this upcoming 85th Annual Daytona Beach Bike Week, one of the world's premier motorcycle events. Here's a bit of trivia I'll bet you don't know—Janet Kersey was the lady who started the Daytona Beach Biketoberfest over 30 years ago! So she knows both Bike Week events incredibly well. Janet and Brian tell us all about what you can expect this upcoming Bike Week. Not just the events and local scenic rides, but also the jam-packed schedule of races including the 56th annual DAYTONA Supercross and the historic DAYTONA 200. So for more information including lodging availability, events, vendors, parking and more, go to OfficialBikeWeek.com or call the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce at 386-255-0981. We'll see you there! * * * * * In the second segment this episode, I chat with Andy Jefferson, from both KTM and Husqvarna. Andy got his first motorcycle in 1970, and after years racing locally on the high desert tracks of Southern California, Andy started riding AMA Nationals and Supercross events on a Husqvarna for Pro Circuit's Mitch Payton. His teammates included Jeff Jennings and Troy Lee. Sadly, knee injuries eventually ended Andy's Pro racing career, but as determined as he is, he finally got his chance to work at Husqvarna overseeing the service, aftermarket parts, and customer relations department. In 2013, Andy became Media Relations Manager for all the motorcycle brands including KTM, Husqvarna, and GasGas. His long history as a racer includes an Over 40 World Vet Championship, and in 2024 he was inducted into the Legends and Heroes Moto Museum. * * * * * Here's a quick reminder to leave us your comments on our social media—we're on all the usual platforms at Ultimate Motorcycling.
