Wrapping up action from the race weekend, covering all the scoops, with the normal cast of characters.
A great day of racing at round two of the great outdoors. Let's cover the bullet point.
On paper the overall results from the Hangtown Motocross Classic are a repeat of round one, but the action was far different and - dare we say - even more exciting! The Dirt Diggers M.C. always do an amazing job of putting on the NorCal race, and even though the temperatures were borderline unbearable, the things that unfolded on the race track made the sunburn and dehydration all worthwhile.

Two-time 250 National Champion Jeremy Martin left the 2023 Hangtown 250 National in the back of an ambulance with a badly broken arm that would ultimately put him out for the remainder of the season. After missing all of 2024, and then accepting a job as the VIP Tour Guide for the Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha team during this year's Supercross series, many assumed that JMart was, in fact, done with racing. Off the record, he told a few months ago that he planned to purchase a bike race this summer's Millville 450 National as his final farewell to racing, but that all took a big u-turn when he was asked to fill in for the numerous injured Star 250 riders at the first three Nationals this summer. Martin lined up last weekend at Fox Raceway with a mere eight days of riding the Star machine under his belt, and he carded 20-20 moto scores for four championship points and 21st overall at the series kickoff. "Absolutely got my teeth kicked in at Pala," he wrote on his Instagram on Monday. "Went from training for a marathon to racing round one." We tried to speak with Martin after the race on Saturday, but he was long gone by the time we made it to the Star truck, so we asked him to join us for some bench racing in this afternoon's Midweek Podcast, presented by 6D Helmets!

Round 3 of the Pro Motocross championship brought us to the mile high city (well a little bit outside of it) in Lakewood, Colorado. Chase Sexton was coming off one of the best rides of all time last weekend and gaining the points lead but just as quickly as the momentum swung in his favor, it was lost this weekend so James breaks down why Chase struggled from his perspective and why the bike didn't work as well here compared to Hangtown. Jett Lawrence was looking to bounce back after a gnarly get off and potential injury and we saw him regain control by taking the OA on the day and talk about what led him to being able to rebound so quickly. Sit back people, you're in Bubba's World now
Jett's streak comes to a vicious end and the MX2 World Champ asserts himself in Northern California.
Andrew Hopson checks in to discuss a performance rarely equaled in the sport of motocross. Last to first with Chase Sexton.
On this week's SMX Insider, Kevin Windham joins the show in the big interview. Jason Weigandt and Jason Thomas break down all the action from Hangtown and tell us what it means moving forward. Can Jett Lawrence bounce back from his hard crash? Is Chase Sexton now the title favorite? We discuss Haiden Deegan's fast start to the 250 championship and much more. Get the inside scoop of the sport you love with SMX Insider!

Chase Sexton had everyone buzzing after his incredible second 450 moto at Hangtown where he crashed in turn 2 and charged from last to first by the last lap!! He's on to talk about getting comfortable on the KTM and his expectations for the rest of 2024. Jeremy Coker of the Star Racing Yamaha team is on to talk about BluCru and what it's like managing the biggest team in the pits. Did we just witness one of the best rides of all time?! Round 2 of the Pro Motocross Championship provided some incredible racing across the 4 motos and had plenty of surprises in both classes. The things that held Chase back last weekend in Pala actually played in his favor this weekend and the opposite goes for Jett. James breaks down the bike setups in detail of both the KTM and Honda, and what Jett was doing on the first lap going for the jump which ultimately ended his win streak at 24-0. In the 250 class Deegan went out and dominated but Vialle was able to capitalize on his mistakes in moto 2 so what does this mean moving forward? Sit back people, you're in Bubba's World now

Hangtown gave us hope. The juggernaut that is Jett Lawrence can, in fact, be beat. You can argue that he was hurt, but what you can't argue is Chase's incredible ride from 40th to 1st. A feat Jett hasn't even accomplished (yet.) Chase's speed was otherworldly, and with that speed, we may just have a championship on our hands. Oh yeah, we also talk 250's.
Presented by Pro Taper The Hangtown MX National was hands-down, one of the best motocross races we've seen in years, and definitely the best performance of Chase Sexton's career. Fortieth to First is going to be a catchphrase when it comes to the Red Bull KTM rider, no doubt! We talk about everything that we saw and learned at the second round of the great outdoors!
