Presented by Maxxis and Outhouse Coffee Co. Wow, what a race the 2026 Houston Supercross was! The Triple Crown format always yields some intense racing, but last weekend's race took the cake, with the overall winner in the premier 450 division not being decided until the very end! Of course, we all know that defending Supercross Champion Cooper Webb used consistency to earn his first win of the season, doing so without winning any of the three main events. At the same time, Ken Roczen, Hunter Lawrence, and Eli Tomac each lit the candles. The 250 Western Division, in contrast, was a statement from defending champion Haiden Deegan, who handily won all three main events and notched his third consecutive win. Levi Kitchen and Cameron McAdoo rounded out the podium. We cover all of this, and more, on this week's show!

Bobby shares his story from his younger years to where the team is today, opens up about how gambling helped fund the early days of Star Racing Yamaha, and breaks down the team dynamics and tactics he used to get the most out of his riders—including pinning Cooper Webb and Jeremy Martin against each other. He also explains why he was so committed to Cooper Webb, what he saw in him early on, and even shares what Haiden Deegan is really like as both an athlete and a person.Gypsy Gang, as always, thanks for listening. Presented by Maxxis and Outhouse Coffee Co. Last weekend, the Monster Energy Supermotocross World Championship Playoffs got underway in Concord, North Carolina, at xMAX Dragway, and severe weather forced the cancellation of the event after the first 250 and 450 motos were run. Four lightning strikes in the area initially halted the event, but the ongoing threat of lightning, plus steady rain and impending nightfall, finally did the race in. For the most part, racers were relieved, but the fans on hand were upset, demanding refunds and the like. There is no debating the fact that the race could not have run with the lack of lighting in the motocross section of the course outside of the stadium, and the course was challenging enough without throwing in mud and poor visibility into the mix. Eli Tomac told us after Friday's practice sessions that it was "The sketchiest track I have ever ridden on." Throughout the weekend, the track claimed many victims, including top riders like Malcolm Stewart, Seth Hammaker, Julien Beaumer, and Garrett Marchbanks. Jett Lawrence said after the race that the track had a limit that could not be pushed, and that you had "to take your medicine out there," in the rough conditions. We talk about that, and a lot more, in this week's Kickstart Podcast, presented by Maxxis and Outhouse Coffee Co.!

Send us a textOriginally from Denver, CO, Dylan Wineland is an award-winning cinematographer now residing in Salt Lake City, Utah. In today's episode, we dive into Dylan's journey and unexpected path to becoming a commercial DP (Director of Photography), all of which came to be thanks to dirt bikes. Dylan grew up riding and racing dirt bikes against the likes of Eli Tomac, Jason Anderson, and Justin Bogle. While Dylan didn't have quite the career that the aforementioned did, he was able to race locally in the A class against the likes of future professional Supercross and motocross racers, Derek Anderson and Todd Bannister. We also spend time talking about his steps to becoming a cinematographer, working on season one of The Spectrum Series alongside me, his time interning at Brain Farm, and eventually working for commercial clients such as Ford Motor Co., Toyota USA, BF Goodrich, The Olympics, KN Filters, Polaris, and more. This was a wonderful conversation diving into many more topics and I hope all enjoy! The Failed Experiment on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheFailedExperimentFollow Dylan Wineland on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dylanwineland/?hl=enView Dylan's Portfolio:https://winelandpictures.com/Follow The Failed Experiment on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_thefailedexperiment/Follow Kyle Cowling on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kylecowling/Support the show

Johnny Hopper joins us in studio once again, and this time we dive into some controversy. At the post-race press conference after Round 4 at High Point, Johnny asked Aaron Plessinger a question about Eli Tomac's potential switch to KTM — a moment that sparked backlash across the industry. Some loved the question, others hated it, and we break it all down, including Steve Matthes' reaction. We also discuss whether Supercross should start a feeder series, if scoop tires should be regulated, whether Jorge Prado can figure out the Kawasaki, and how Chase Sexton might adjust to that platform if he makes the switch. The High Point Pro Motocross National was awesome! The weather that everyone feared all day finally rolled in and let loose just as the final 450-class moto got underway, and that made for some amazing racing that saw Eli Tomac score his second moto win of the season. At the same time, Jett Lawrence was forced to work through the pack after a poor start and a soft early race pace to earn his fourth overall of the series. And of course, Haiden Deegan rebounded with a vengeance after his Thunder Valley MX defeat to absolutely dominate both motos for his third win of the season. We cover itr all, and more, in this week's Kickstart Podcast.

Jimmy Button joins us for Chapter 359! Jimmy's racing career took place in the golden era of the sport, lining up against the very best in supercross throughout the 90's, battling for podiums and race wins. His career came to a screeching halt in 2000 after a crash in the whoops left him temporarily paralyzed from the neck down, and his journey to getting back on his feet was long and far from comfortable. Because of Jimmy's broad understanding of what it takes to make it in this sport, what it feels like to compete at the top, and how quickly your world can fall apart when injuries hit, he started Road 2 Recovery—a foundation that helps injured action sports athletes after life-changing crashes. Not many people have seen both sides of the sport like Jimmy Button, and that's what makes his story so unique. This is three and a half hours with Jimmy Button. Presented by 6D Helmets When Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha's Eli Tomac brake his leg at the Tampa Supercross in February, fans around the globe groaned with disappointment that the eight-time AMA Champion was again sidelined with injury. After having his fibula plated on February 14, Tomac initially told us that he hoped to return to racing in time to get some gate drops in the final rounds of the Supercross championship in order to be ready for the May 24 Pro Motocross kickoff at Fox Raceway. After getting back on the bike, however, ET decided that his time would be better spent training at his Cortez, Colorado, ranch in preparation for an all-out assault on this summer's series, and he told us in today's podcast that he is 100% up to speed and has never come into a motocross series so prepared. Tomac also told us that this most recent injury, coupled with how great he felt before it, has changed his mind about 2025 being his last year of racing full time. "I am not done racing," he said, with certainty. But hit play already and hear him say it himself! Thanks for checking out the 6D Helmets Midweek Podcast, on a Friday. Ha!
