Numbers 13-14 // Jonathan NeefIn this teaching on Numbers 13-14, we analyze the mission of the twelve spies and the two very different reports they brought back. While ten spies focused on the strength of the walled cities and the size of the inhabitants, Joshua and Caleb looked at the power of the one who promised them victory. The sermon examines the consequences of the people's rebellion—their desire to return to Egypt and the subsequent judgment that led to forty years of wandering. We discuss how fear can blind us to his provision and how trust in his word is the only way to move forward into the "land flowing with milk and honey."SERMON NOTES (YouVersion): https://bible.com/events/PRAYER REQUESTS: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2542/responses/new26.03.15

Pastor Dennis Ticen - 1st Sunday of Lent, Sermon for February 22, 2026. Numbers 13:26-33. Part 2 of "Mountains + Valleys"
In this episode, we begin with a discussion prompted by a question about The Chosen; if the show depicts Joseph comforting Jesus in Gethsemane, is that a theological shift in broader Christianity toward the LDS idea that angels can be resurrected beings who once lived on earth? From there, the conversation pivots into Part 2 with a deeper dive into the apocryphal Book of Enoch: why it mattered to early Christians, how Jude appears to quote it, and how Enoch's dramatic narrative tries to explain the origin of evil through fallen angels, forbidden knowledge, and giants the size of Mount Garfield. We had a couple of spots open up on our Standard of Truth Tour to Missouri/Illinois. We meet in Kansas City on Sunday, June 21st, and fly home from St. Louis on Saturday, June 27th. https://standardoftruth.com/tours/tour-missouri-nauvoo-carthage-springfield-st-louis-june-21-27-2026/ Sign up for our free monthly email: https://standardoftruthpodcast.substack.com If you have any questions or possible topics of discussion for upcoming podcasts, please email us at: questions@standardoftruthpodcast.com
What if the very thing standing between you and God's promise isn't the land—but the giants you see in it? In this powerful message, Giants in the Land, Pastor Nathan walks us through Numbers and the journey of Israel on the edge of the Promised Land. What they encountered wasn't just fortified cities or intimidating enemies, but giants that shaped their fear, identity, and perspective. While most saw impossibility, Caleb and Joshua saw God's faithfulness and power, revealing a timeless truth: the giants we face often expose what we truly believe about God—and ourselves. This sermon challenges us to confront the modern giants that keep us stuck in the wilderness: fear, past trauma, false identity, insecurity, and spiritual hesitation. Pastor Nathan calls us to invite God beyond surface-level fixes and into the hidden places of our hearts where transformation begins. Revival doesn't happen by avoiding the giants—it happens when God exposes and overcomes them. If you're longing to move from promise delayed to promise fulfilled, this message will challenge, encourage, and awaken your faith to step boldly into all God has prepared for you.For more on LifePoint Church go to lifepointaz.com Check out our merch store https://lifepointaz-shop.fourthwall.comFind all our links in one easy spot https://linktr.ee/lifepointaz Follow us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/lifepointaz Follow us on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/lifepointchurchaz/

Who are the Nephilim? Does God change His mind? What did God mean when He said, “My spirit shall not abide in man for ever, for he is flesh, but his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.” ? If you have a question for Cale, you can email faith@relevantradio.com
In this message, Pastor Dale discusses the importance of addressing any “giants” that oppose or hinder our spiritual progress. Just as the children of Israel were required to drive out the giants who inhabited the Promised Land, born-again believers must also drive out any giants and tear down any enemy strongholds attached to their old lives. No matter how loud or how longstanding, these hindrances must go if we are to move into and fully occupy all God has promised us as His children.

Seth invites us into a world of Giants
In this episode, Caleb's conquest of Hebron unveils a shadowy past steeped in legends of giants that once roamed the land of Canaan. The Israelites, paralyzed by fear of these formidable beings—particularly the Anakim—hesitated to enter the Promised Land, viewing themselves as mere "grasshoppers" in comparison. Yet, as Joshua led the conquests, references to giants faded, with significant encounters primarily linked to Caleb's decisive victory in Hebron. Tracing the origins of these tribes back to the aftermath of Babel, the episode hints at a forgotten age when giants thrived. Though most were defeated before the Israelites arrived, the haunting legacy of their existence lingers, woven into the very fabric of the land. Mysteries abound, from the colossal dolmens believed to be built by giants to the ancient myths that continue to captivate the imagination, leaving listeners to ponder: how much of this lore is truth, and how much remains shrouded in enigma? Caleb, giants in Canaan, Anakim, Israelite journey, Joshua's battles, fear of giants, twelve spies, historical context of Canaanite tribes, Rephaim, descendants of Anak, mythical giants, Tower of Babel, ancient legends, dolmens in Canaan, ancient architecture, monumental structures, legacy of giants, cultural memory of giants, mysteries of biblical history. Welcome to 2024 and welcome to a new series here on Beyond The Building! This month of January we are taking 4 weeks to dive deeply into 1 Samuel 17, a very familiar portion of scripture where David courageously faces and defeats the giant, Goliath, who has tormented all of Israel for 40 days. In this first episode, we focus on being able to identify the giants that we face in our lives today and shifting our focus to taking back the land that rightfully belongs to us as children of the Living God.

After a summer holiday, the Bible Bash team has returned! This month, Liam takes a look at the story in Numbers 13 and 14 - the story of the Hebrew scouts, which reveals the reason the people were destined to wander for 40 years before entering the promised land. Liam raises important questions: Is this story of the scouts a story of failing faith, as we are so often told, or is it something more? What about Caleb's “different spirit”? Is a brave and unfettered “different spirit” the way into the promised land for all of us? Don offers a reading from Feminist thinkers Rosemarie Tong and Tina Fernandes Botts. The Beatitudes describe the ideal disciple and his rewards, both present and future. In other words The person whom Jesus describes in this passage has a different quality of character and lifestyle than those still "outside the kingdom." That's you and me!Despite the pressures, stress and troubles we endure in pursuit of His promises, we as believers continue to swim against the current of the world, Jesus knows this and through these beatitudes He's not only pronouncing blessings over His followers but also encouraging us, to endure in the Faith as people of God, looking forward to the blessings God has promised. At this point none of this may seem to line up with the title of this message but as we continue into the message, it will become clear that in the Beatitudes, Jesus is making it clear to us, that the challenges of being a disciple also means we are continually facing giants Support the show
