Hebrews 3:1 “Jesus is the high priest of our confession.”It is through our confession that we demonstrate if we are testing God or Trusting God. Confess or confession means to say the same as and for us as believers in the bible, confession means that we say the same with our mouths as God has already said in His word. We make the words of our mouth agree with the Word of God and in that way we line ourselves up to receive the full authority that Jesus has given us.Because Jesus is the high priest of our confession so if you have no confession, Jesus cannot act as our high priest because He's only our high priest in respect of what we confess, first and foremost, confessing Him as Lord. In other words, whenever we confess with our mouths what the bible says about us as believers, we have Jesus as our high priest in heaven releasing His authority and blessing upon us. But if we remain silent, and have no confession we're losing out on our access to His ministry as high priest. Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to youThis is a Kingdom key, Jesus is saying our #1 priority should be pursuing, studying, exploring, understanding, learning and considering all there is to know about the Kingdom and the Righteousness of GodMany pastors teach this verse to mean take care of God's business first then he'll take care of you.  In my opinion that cheapens the meaning of the verse and thereby cheapens the gospel message Jesus is conveying.What Jesus was actually saying is... I've come to restore the thing you need more than anything else, that which Adam lost, The Kingdom and Righteousness! Therefore make that your#1  priority and all the other things will be added unto you. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.What a blessing it is to worship a God who can calm the wind and the waves by speaking to them. Too often, many of us are tossed about on the wind and waves of our emotions. But the good news is, if Jesus can speak to the wind and the waves he can also speak to our emotions.One of the most serious challenges of discipleship, especially  in trying times like these we're living in, is learning how to maintain control over our emotions. 2 Chronicles 7:14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.The most important aspect of fasting is the humbling oneself, afflicting our soul, and gaining a deeper revelation of our need and dependence upon God. God begins this verse with "IF" and by the use of the word "If" God is implying a conditional promise, and the very first condition He stipulates for His people is humility. Sincere and heartfelt prayer cannot take place without humility, neither can repentance.
