You will not live this life forever. This isn't something we like to think about often and can seem somewhat morbid. However, God's Word says that it's the realization that we don't know how long we have on this Earth that leads to wisdom. James 3-5 talks about two kinds of wisdom: one that lives for eternity, and one that only lives for the here and now. God is also clear: you might find temporary success with worldly wisdom, but ultimately it leads you down the path of pride. If you are wondering: how do I know what happens after I die AND how should that shape my life, this week's Practically Speaking message is for you!
Prayer: Lord, help us see people as You do.
There are two kinds of wisdom, earthly/worldly and heavenly/Godly wisdom. You will be able to tell if a person is truly wise by looking at their life. People who practice Godly wisdom not only know what is good and right, but they practice it as well. Their lives reflect their wisdom. Your life will reflect the wisdom that you are seeking.
We are all about creating environments where you can connect with people just like yourself, learn more about the God of the Bible, and grow in your faith. You will hear encouraging messages for everyone because we are a church for all people.

There are influences in life that will affect the outcome. How we yield to these influences determine how we end up. Bro. Hughes is captured by the phrase “Walking in wisdom” That should be the goal: To elevate our lives to a higher plane and align with God’s plan for our life. Paul writing to the Colossians says to redeem the time. The literal translation is to take advantage of every opportunity. Bro. Hughes returns to our study of the two wisdoms presented in James 3 and hits close to home in eveluating how we as a church demonstrate that wisdom in our ministry.
Paul uses two words in our text that open a treasure trove of blessing to us if we can understand them. Those words are walk and wisdom. He is speaking about more than just a mode of transportation and knowledge. There are several meanings in the Greek used for our word walk. There are things we need to talk toward or away from. One translation of walk means to occupy. There are things with which we need to be consumed. Walk can also mean to align with. There are things with which we need to conform, and many more with which we should not. We need to walk in a purposeful manner. We need to walk in a way that brings honor and glory to Him. The second word is wisdom. The word wisdom is powerful. It literally refers to practical skills. In Greek, it means higher or lower; worldly or spiritually. There are two types of wisdom: There is wisdom about man and then there is wisdom from God. One of these two wisdoms is influencing us and directing us in life. One of these wisdoms determines how we are walking. Each kind of wisdom has an effect. Bro. Hughes asks which kind of wisdom do we want to influence our life?

The current circumstances of our nation are an opportunity for the Church to shine. While many people are pulling from "worldly wisdom," we as the body of Christ have access to the wisdom of Heaven. Pastor CJ shares an important message on how we can pull from Heaven and truly be lights in the earth.

Jealousy and Rivalry flow out of a deep rooted selfishness to get our own way. When we see an advantage that another has—or may get—we resent that they have it (Jealousy) and rival against them to get what they get (Selfish Ambition). We need the Lord's help for our attitudes and actions to change.
