When God's warnings are ignored, judgment often comes suddenly and decisively. Pastor Wesley Welch walks through Daniel 5, unpacking the fall of Belshazzar and the mysterious writing on the wall as a sobering reminder of God's holiness. The passage shows that pride and disregard for God lead to destruction, while He alone weighs the hearts of kings and kingdoms. We are called to examine our lives, honor the Lord, and respond to His warnings with humility and repentance.

Veteran mining executive Brad Rourke lays out the bullish case for gold development, detailing the rapid transition of Scottie Resources in a $5,000 gold environment. Rourke frames the frenzied energy at the Vancouver conference as a validation of a long-term thesis, noting the venue is "absolutely packed" with investors seeking hard assets. He points to the company's high-grade resource, off-take deal with Ocean Partners, and strategic position in BC's Golden Triangle as signals of a project moving toward production. Rourke argues that the coming era belongs to tangible resources, drawing a clear lesson from his own experience: “Commodities can't print commodities.” He is so convinced that he's directing his own children into the sector. Watch the video to hear his perspective on the Taiwan "hamburger helper" ore story, the 2028 production goal, and why he believes in under-promising and over-delivering.✅ FREE RESOURCESDownload The Private Wealth Playbook — a data-backed guide to strategically acquiring gold and silver for maximum protection, privacy, and performance. Have you ever seen “the handwriting on the wall”? What did you do? Belshazzar knew about Nebuchadnezzar's experience, but he chose to ignore it. He surpassed his predecessor in the behavior that had led to his downfall. The writing was on the wall for him long before the fingers of a human hand appeared. We should take note! The Writing on the WallSeries: Daniel: Wisdom and Hope in Exile Preacher: Cory BrockSunday MorningDate: 19th October 2025Passages: Daniel 5:1-6Daniel 5:13-30
The fall of Babylon in 539 B.C. reveals timeless truths about pride and divine judgment. King Belshazzar's arrogant feast, using sacred temple vessels to mock God, led to supernatural writing on the wall declaring his kingdom's end. Despite knowing his grandfather Nebuchadnezzar's humbling by God, Belshazzar hardened his heart in pride. Daniel interpreted the mysterious words as God's final judgment - the king had been weighed and found wanting. That very night, Belshazzar died and his kingdom fell, demonstrating that every heart will ultimately be measured by God's eternal standard.https://www.ankenyfree.church
