In this Wednesday episode, we focus on the artistry of drone photography with two special guests. Armand Sarlangue was awarded Photographer of the Year 2022 by the Siena Drone Photo Awards for his image, Big Bang, which is a top-down shot of an active volcano fissure in Iceland. Mickey Falzone's image of the Taj Mahal on a misty morning was commended in the Urban drone photography category. We hear stories of the awards show, rubbing shoulders with top photographers, late-night after parties, meeting Twitter friends IRL, and the important role prestigious photo competitions play to inspire and elevate photography for the global audience. We also learn the true value of web3 through a touching story about how Armand almost didn't even enter the competition. Recorded October 5, 2022. Our speakers: Armand Sarlangue, Mickey Falzone, Subodh Shetty, Jerry Grayson, Christoph Fischer, Anastas Tarpanov, Ekrem Sahin, Pelin Genc, Sarah Lyndsay, Kristin Piljay, and host, Pam Voth. In this episode, we interview Jerry Grayson of Khepera Publishing about his role as developer for 7th Sea Lands of Gold and Fire. Our conversation topics include Jerry's background as a gamer, his goals and inspirations for Ifri, content that didn't make the cut, a bit about Jerry's other games, and more besides. From Khepera Publishing: Jerry has designed and published games since 2002. Flattered that others find his small efforts amusing, his proudest industry works are GODSEND Agenda, HELLAS: Worlds of Sun and Stone, and ATLANTIS: The Second Age. When not creating games that have all uppercase letters in the title, Jerry works on becoming a better human being through acts of civility and kindness to others. Jerry has been writing books set in and around Africa for years. And the books he's written are fun, bold productions filled with awesome art and great characters. A little known fact; If tickled Jerry will hiccup cinnamon and glitter. 7th Sea is produced by John Wick Presents, and is available from their online store or on DriveThru RPG. A base version of the game is available for free directly from John Wick Presents. Recorded at GenCon 2018 Presented by Jason Pitre, Anna Meade, Jerry Grayson, Eloy Lasanta, and Sarah "Doombringer" Richardson. This panel serves as a welcome introduction to the twin fields of roleplaying game design, and publishing. It features a long discussion on how and why we design games, how games have to be about something, and how we can practically turn our ideas into products. This was a two hour panel full of brilliant insights from the panel speakers and has some fun banter to boot. Note that the audience submitted a number of questions in advance of the panel, which we will be responding to in next week's episode!

The wildlife cameraman and presenter, Gordon Buchanan, joins Aasmah Mir and Richard Coles. He's spent his life getting close to wild animals - following black bears in Minnesota, travelling to the remote Canadian Arctic to film wolves and coming face to face with a 1000 lb polar bear! JP Devlin hears stories from members of the public at Chapelfield Shopping Centre in Norwich. Noel Fitzpatrick is Professor of Orthopaedics and "The Supervet". He describes how growing up on a farm and being unable to save a lamb led to him becoming a vet, how he uses the latest technology to pioneer techniques to save or improve the lives of pets, and some of his handiwork, including building new paws for a cat called Oscar who had an unfortunate encounter with a combine harvester. The actor, Rafe Spall, shares his Inheritance Tracks - Cherry Coloured Funk by the Cocteau Twins & And So Is Love by Kate Bush. And Jerry Grayson talks about his life as the youngest helicopter pilot to serve in the Royal Navy's Search and Rescue force, and working flying in aerial action scenes for films such as Black Hawk Down and the James Bond movie A View to a Kill.
