It's been a while since we've talked about Kalle Lasn. He is  one of the most dangerous leftists in the world and runs an organization called Adbusters. They are brilliant at “culture-jamming”; making culture look at itself. How can we use culture jamming, because we have to. When we look at things like Fani Willis being allowed to get away with perjury we must ask ourselves, what does culture jamming look like in this case? We need to do this with Boeing as well.4Patriots https://4Patriots.com/Todd Stay connected when the power goes out and get free shipping on orders over $97.   Alan's Soaps https://alanssoaps.com/TODD Use coupon code ‘TODD' to save an additional 10% off the bundle price. Mickey's first guest is long-time media activist and "culture jammer" Kalle Lasn, the founder of Adbusters magazine. He summarizes the history of Adbusters, and explains some recent developments, including the decision by Canada's dominant drug-store chain to cease selling the magazine. In the second half, Chase Palmieri returns to the program to explain the project he founded, www.credder.com, the web site that gives news readers a place to evaluate the quality of news articles.   Kalle Lasn lives in Vancouver, British Columbia, where he founded Adbusters magazine in 1989; he remains its editor-in-chief. He is also the author of three books, Culture Jam, Design Anarchy, and Meme Wars. Chase Palmieri's work in the restaurant business inspired his idea that news consumers should have a review site for journalism analogous to Yelp's role for restaurants; to provide this opportunity, and create an incentive for news outlets to improve their product, he created www.credder.com    the Project Censored Show:   Host: Mickey Huff    Producer: Anthony Fest

Kalle Lasn is a bit of a hero. You can tell that if you read his books Culture Jam and Meme Wars, or from his legendary magazine, movement and media foundation Adbusters. But really, the best way to get to know him is in this interview from around 2009. Drabs, Lau-Lau and Jonty discuss the interview (and therefore consumerism, mental health and the ecological crisis of capitalism) from a Christian perspective in this episode. They also drink a reasonable amount of terrible beer and have a few laughs.  Kalle's commentary and ideas are prescient and still depressingly relevant today. His thoughts on faith and particularly Christianity are refreshing and challenging to evangelicals and post-evangelicals alike.  Follow Beer Christianity on Twitter: @beerxianity and find us on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube and Stitcher.  All Beer Christianity shows and info available at http://beerchristianity.libsyn.com  Jesus Christ is the Son of God and came to teach us a better way to be while reconciling us to God and each other in a way we could never do without Him. He also changed water into wine. Nice.        Find us on Spotify & Apple Podcasts.

Adbusters Editor in Chief, Kalle Lasn met me in his office at the magazine to talk to me about the revolution. I see it going down only with violence but he is far more hopeful about the ways in which we're going to change the systems in place. He's a brilliant man and it was such a treat to get to sit down with him and hear him say out loud some of the ideas he's been putting forth in Adbusters.   Tour Dates: Madison - September 19-21 Winnipeg - September 22 Brea - September 26-28 San Antonio - October 2 Dallas - October 3 Houston - October 4-5 Nashville - October 19-21 San Jose - November 7-9 Detroit - November 14 Chicago - November 16 Cincinatti - November 17   The Music: Gil Scott Heron - The Revolution Will Not Be Televised T. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Adbusters magazine is a nonprofit, reader supported magazine which concerns itself with the erosion of our physical and cultural environments by commercial forces. We talk to Will Brown and Douglas Haddow, Art Director and Creative Consultant at Adbusters magazine. We ask them how they got involved with Adbusters in the first place and what they exactly do and contribute to the magazine. The past 20 years Adbusters are constantly fighting for the voice of independent media in legal battles. The end goal is to reform broadcast law.
