Our theme for 2024 is “Knowing Jesus and Making Him Known.” Listen in as we talk about how the invitation of Jesus is an invitation to a relationship and a task. This is the invitation that Jesus is still offering to us all. Finally we introduced our “40 Days of Courage” where everyone is encouraged to take steps of courage in sharing Jesus over the next 40 days. Our motto for the next 40 days is going to be, “Do it scared.”

This past Sunday was a re-cast of our 2024 vision. All throughout the Scriptures we see examples of God providing reminders for people because we are so prone to forget. In light of that we are taking a week to remember what we believe God is calling us into this year. Our 2024 vision is “Knowing Jesus and Making Him Known.” We are praying that we will see 50 people come to a saving relationship with Jesus this year. Our two anchor texts were 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 and Ephesians 3:14-21.
This week David Drake preaches from Acts 14:21-28
Part of the A Vision for 2024 sermon series from Isaiah 12:4-6. This sermon was preached by David Shaw and is 35 minutes long.

“My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
Mature believers talk to others about God. And they also talk to God about others. Do you regularly pray for others . . . pray for their needs, pray they might come to the Lord or come closer to the Lord? Our mission statement here at A NEW BEGINNING is Knowing Him and Making Him Known. And intercessory prayer is a vital instrument in that pursuit. So today, Pastor Greg Laurie continues his series on the life of Moses uncovering the leader's faithful ministry of intercessory prayer. Pastor Dan teaches from the book of Colossians.
The gospel isn't just a message limited to the walls of a church building. It is good news for everyone, including people who are indifferent and uninterested... we just may need to change our approach. As we dive back in to Acts 17 and join Paul in Athens, we'll see what it looks like to have gospel conversations with people in everyday life.
Everybody evangelizes. It doesn't matter who you are: when you experience a good or beautiful thing, you tell other people. Join campus minister Robert Knuth as he opens up John 4:31-42 and specifically the idea that: if Jesus is the most beautiful thing the world has ever beheld, His people should evangelize in a way that is both thoughtful and beautiful.

Pastor Dave continues our "Why Church?" series and looks at our seven core distinctives that make up who we are as a church. Collectively, we believe these help us in Becoming Like Jesus & Making Him Known!
What we believe about God impacts how we live. It's important to be sure we know the truth.
God is Love. And love is all about experiencing intimacy. You can only be intimate with what you know and you can only make known what you know. In our relationship with God, we are dependent upon Him to help us know Him deeper and in more sweeping ways. Out of that overflow, we can help others to know God. One of the reasons the apostles were so effective in Acts is that they saw opposition as an opportunity rather than an obstacle. They knew the devil fights hard against us because he is jealous of Jesus' victory, and stirs up people to be offended by the Word and our faith. When Paul's heart became provoked by how sin blinds and deludes people's minds, he went into the public space and explained how the "unknown God" the people of Athens were seeking is able to be found. He wanted to show that the insufficient false gods mankind follows are inadequate compared to Jesus--a calling we share in the discouraging times. Guest Pastor Lara explains how we should be the salt of the earth, and just like salt we are to add flavor to every situation. But what does that look like to be the salt of the earth? Follow along in Mathew 5: 13-16 as he dives deeper into the message.
