What does it really mean to live sent? In this message, we explore how mission doesn't start with going far; it starts with loving close. Jesus built His mission through ordinary people who were willing to show up, stay faithful, and be present in everyday life. From the Great Commandment to the Great Commission, this teaching challenges the idea that mission is only for professionals and reminds us that every follower of Jesus is sent; into homes, neighborhoods, workplaces, and beyond. Learn how proximity shapes influence, why obedience matters more than outcomes, and how faithful presence can change lives over time.2.8.2026 - Message 4
In week 5 of our Live Sent series through Matthew, pastor Michael communicated the importance of living a humble life. Submission is impossible if your carrying pride. Tim Keller said, "Pride is the carbon monoxide of sin. It silently and slowly kills you without you even knowing."
CPXL Season 2 • Episode 4Genesis 25:12–18 – The Account of Ishmael's LineAs the book of Genesis continues to narrow from nations to one family, Scripture pauses to record the generations of Ishmael—Abraham's son who was not part of the covenant line, yet still deeply seen and blessed by God.In this episode of CPXL, we explore Genesis 25:12–18 and what Ishmael's genealogy reveals about God's faithfulness to His promises. Though Isaac carries the covenant forward, God does not forget Ishmael. His line grows into twelve princes and a great nation, fulfilling the words God spoke years earlier to Hagar and Abraham. This conversation helps us distinguish between blessing and covenant, showing that while God's purposes are specific, His mercy is wide. Ishmael's story reminds us that God keeps His word—even when human decisions complicate the story—and that His compassion extends beyond the boundaries we often assume. In This Episode:Why Scripture records Ishmael's genealogyHow God fulfills His promises outside the covenant lineThe difference between blessing and covenantWhat Ishmael's story teaches us about God's characterHow this passage shapes the way we view those who feel “outside” the promiseKey Scriptures:Genesis 25:12–18Genesis 16Genesis 17:18–20Genesis 21:13Psalm 145:9As we reflect on God's faithfulness to Ishmael, we're invited to trust God's promises more deeply—and to see others with greater compassion as we continue into the story of Isaac's sons.About CPXLCPXL exists to equip and encourage Everyday Missionaries to Love God, Grow Up, Serve All, and Live Sent.

In this episode of CPXL, we explore the Abrahamic Covenant—God's foundational promise that sets the trajectory for the entire biblical story.Walking through Genesis 12, 15, and 17, we see that God's covenant is entirely His initiative—grounded in faith, not performance. From Abram's call to trust without seeing the full picture, to God alone cutting the covenant, this conversation reveals God's heart to restore, bless, and redeem the nations. The episode also points forward to Jesus, the promised descendant through whom the blessing to all nations is fulfilled—showing how faith, not lineage, defines God's people. In This Episode:God's call to Abram and the meaning of covenantWhy faith is central to God's promisesHow the covenant expands in Genesis 15 and 17How Abraham's story points forward to JesusWhat it means to live as people of the covenant todayKey Scriptures:Genesis 12:1–3Genesis 15Genesis 17Galatians 3Romans 4As Genesis narrows from nations to one family, we're invited to see ourselves within God's unfolding covenant story—and to consider where He may be calling us to trust Him without seeing the full picture.About CPXLCPXL exists to equip and encourage Everyday Missionaries to Love God, Grow Up, Serve All, and Live Sent.

In week 4 of our Live Sent series through Matthew, Pastor Michael explains how doubt is part of the Christian faith and how to combat it with TRUTH! Being rooted in the truth will keep reminding you of your identity in Christ and reveal the enemy's lies.
Spiritual maturity isn't measured by how much we know, but by how much we love. This final message calls us to follow Jesus by serving others with humility and compassion. When we serve, our faith becomes active, our hearts become softer, and our lives begin to reflect Jesus to the world around us. You'll be encouraged to see the everyday opportunities God places right in front of you—and to respond with a servant's heart that lives sent into your neighborhood, your workplace, and your community.
Genesis 10:1–11:26 | Nations, Babel, and God's DirectionIn this episode of CPXL, Andy Addis and Eric Franklin are joined by Ryan Booth for the first three-pastor conversation of Season 2 as they walk through Genesis 10–11—the account of Noah's sons, the spread of nations, and the Tower of Babel.Genesis 10 shows how humanity repopulates the earth after the flood, forming diverse nations and families. Genesis 11 reveals how pride and misplaced unity fracture that diversity at Babel. Together, these chapters remind us that while humanity multiplies, moves, and sometimes rebels, God remains sovereignly at work—directing history toward His redemptive purposes. The conversation explores why the “Table of Nations” matters, what Babel teaches us about pride and unity, and how God's scattering is not only judgment, but also loving direction. The episode closes by pointing forward to the genealogy of Shem and the emergence of Abram—evidence that God's plan continues even through a fractured world. In This Episode:Why Genesis 10 matters more than we thinkUnity, diversity, and God's design for the nationsThe heart issue behind the Tower of BabelHow God redirects humanity without abandoning His promiseThe hopeful line leading toward AbramKey Scriptures:Genesis 10:1–32Genesis 11:1–26Genesis 1:28Deuteronomy 32:8Acts 17:26–27Hebrews 11:8–12As Genesis shifts from nations to one family, we're invited to see how God works through history—and through ours.CPXL exists to equip and encourage Everyday Missionaries to Love God, Grow Up, Serve All, and Live Sent.Follow along on the Reading Plan with us: crosspointchurch.com/readingplanAbout CrossPoint ChurchCrossPoint is one church in many places, striving to reach the state of Kansas by catalyzing God's people to be Everyday Missionaries. Listen in as we start our new series Live Sent: A Study through Matthew! Pastor Michael preaches on the 12 disciples being sent out and how these 12 disciples weren't anyone special. They were broken people just like you and I, but what made them special is Christ's calling that was placed on them. We've been given a mission, will we be surrendered to it with Christ or disobedient against Christ. Those are the only two options!

Though the first few chapters of Acts are filled with baptisms and miracles, the pivotal point of the book—the stoning of Stephen—shows how God uses ordinary believers to display his power and accomplish his mission amidst persecution. In today’s message from Acts 7 and 8, Pastor J.D. encourages us to consider how God might be calling us to advance the mission of the gospel. It won’t look the same for everyone, of course. But the worth of Jesus and the truth of the gospel should compel us to share with a lost and dying world, whether here or overseas.

Vance Pitman, the president of the Send Network, joins us to share a message on the eternal Kingdom of God and how the church can prepare the way. The Kingdom of God is God's sovereign activity in the world resulting in people being in right relationship with Himself. As we read about the early church, we see that church planting is a part of spreading the gospel. In the Book of Philippians, we read Paul's letter to the Philippian church. Paul's primary purpose for writing was to thank the Philippians for their ongoing support through prayers, finances, and encouragement. They were equipping him to advance the kingdom of God and plant churches through their support. The letter stands as both a personal thank-you and a call to live out the gospel with joy, humility, and unwavering faith. 3 Truths from Philippians about church planting and the Kingdom of God: Truth #1 – When God births a church, it's always about something bigger. Truth #2 – When God births a church, He invites us to join in His kingdom activity. 1) Every church should cultivate a heart for the kingdom by praying. 2) Every church should prioritize the kingdom by sending. 3) Every church should invest in the kingdom by giving. Truth #3 – When God births a church, it's for His glory. If you are a believer, you have a role to play in advancing the Kingdom of God! Learn how you can apply these truths from the Book of Philippians to your life today.
