Venezia Amore: Matteo Thun und seine Frau Susanne haben einen lang gehegten Wunsch wahr werden lassen und ein Apartment in Venedig renoviert.Der Architekt besucht seit seinem 4. Lebensjahr immer wieder die Lagunenstadt und hat seither keine Biennale ausgelassen. Die Thun-Residenz liegt an der Fondazione Zattere in einem neugotischen Gebäude mit Blick auf den Canale della Giudecca. Für Thun, der in Südtirol aufgewachsen ist und multidisziplinäre Studios in Mailand und München unterhält, ist es die schönste und entspannteste Gegend von Venedig. Die Südlage macht den Winter wärmer und der Kanal erinnert ihn an das offene Meer. Seine Frau Susanne hat das Apartment renoviert und mit Möbeln und Kunstwerken aus verschiedenen Epochen eingerichtet: Venezianischer Terrazzo in der Eingangshalle, im Regal Murano Glas Vasen von Ettore Sottsas, mit dem Thun 1981 die legendäre Memphis Gruppe in Mailand gründete. Die Küche ist golden, der Esstisch von Martino Gamper und im Flur blüht ein Löwenzahn aus Metall (made by L'Erbavoglio) an der Fußleiste - überall im Apartment gibt es etwas zu entdecken.Im Podcast erzählt das Paar, wie sie zu ihrem Venedig-Apartment kamen, wo sie in der Lagunenstadt am liebsten Essen gehen (Trattoria Anzole Rafaele) und warum Matteo Thun die Bauleitung bei privaten Projekten gerne seiner Frau Susanne überlässt. Auf der 19. Architekturbiennale ist noch bis zum 23. November Matteo Thuns Installation „Fratelli Tutti“ zu sehen, die anschließend an ihren endgültigen Bestimmmugsort in die italienischen Alpen reist. Die Installation ist aus wiederverwendetem Holz einer ehemaligen Almhütte in den Alpen gefertigt und soll einen Raum für Begegnung und Besinnung über die Werte der Brüderlichkeit, des Dialogs und der Erneuerung schaffen. Thuns aktuelles Hotelprojekt in Venedig: The Langham, das 2026 auf der Murano-Insel eröffnen wird. Architect Stefano Boeri describes him as “a constellation”. Curator Paola Antonelli sees him as “the conscience of Italian design”. While designer Martino Gamper remembers Enzo Mari as having “insulted me in a way that I’ve never been insulted by another designer.” Marva Griffin Wilshire, founder and creator of Salone Satelline, defines him as “an outsider” whilst design duo Formafantasma unfolds the influence Enzo Mari had on their work about the “implication of production” in design processes. Gamper has presented his works and projects internationally, Serpentine Sackler Gallery, London, V&A Museum, London, MIMOCA, Marugame, Japan, Palais De Tokyo, Paris, Museo del Risorgimento, Torino, Italy, The Modern Institute and the London Design Festival commission.

Savant mélange d'Art et de Technologie, Screenshot s'inspire des motifs colorés qui apparaissent en attendant le chargement des résultats d'une recherche d'image sur Google. Le designer Martino Gamper et la photographe Brigitte Niedermair ont sélectionné un groupe d'artistes iconiques travaillant avec du bleu - Yves Klein, Picasso, Van Gogh, Giotto et Matisse – et ont ensuite imprimé les motifs sur le tissu Tabularasa de la marque italienne DEDAR. Gamper et Niedermair ont aussi utilisé une technique spéciale pour imprimer une édition limitée de la couverture du magazine Wallpaper* du mois d'avril.
