Listen to the full show on Substack or on our YoutTube channel. On the first bonus show of the week, Manu and Stefan sit down to discuss the biggest transfer stories in the Bundesliga. They kick things off by breaking down the big news of the week: Erik Ten Hag is the new Bayer Leverkusen head coach. Will the former Ajax and Man Utd boss be the ideal replacement for Xabi Alonso at the BayArena? The duo then turn to two other managerial changes, as Werder Bremen parted ways with Ole Werner and Augsburg sacked Jess Thorup in favour of local lad Sandro Wagner. Will both clubs finally climb out of mid-table with smart managerial appointments or could these risky moves push them back towards relegation? They then wrap up the show by discuss new reports linking Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo to Bayern Munich and break down whether the Dutch talent would be a smart signing by the Bundesliga champions or little more than a runners-up medal in the chase for Florian Wirtz. Enjoy!

What did the board have planned for him?Should Bayern really focus on finding buyers for Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry?Galatasaray are seemingly interested in Leroy Sané; does he need a fresh start?Does Bayern need to have excellent players in every position to be able to compete at the highest level? Some reflections about the DFB Pokal final between VfB Stuttgart and Arminia Bielefeld as well as what it shows about German football and the BundesligaAn ode to Robert Lewandowski as he scored his 100th goal for FC BarcelonaAlso, be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany. Welcome to the BUNDESLIGA SEASON FINALE Episode of the Always Bayern Chelsea show! Yep, it's already match-day 34 in Germany and Bayern Munich put up a dominant showing winning 4-0 over Hoffenheim despite taking a couple days to vacation in Ibiza. Thomas Muller received an emotional sendoff for his final Bundesliga match. Vincent Kompany's first season was a domestic success, finishing up with 82 points, 13 points ahead of Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen. Subscribe to the Always Bayern Chelsea YouTube channel for the incoming full season breakdown, Jim's Chelsea updates, and to join the community of football fans! Danny kicks this episode off by breaking down Bayern Munich's 4-0 win over Hoffenheim in full. He provides details on Vincent Kompany's lineup, tactics, player performances, match highlights, and even match awards (sort of). The match started off slow with Hoffenheim clearly just trying not to get blown out. Michael Olise opened up the floodgates by scoring a sublime free kick. He then assisted Joshua Kimmich to double the Bavarians lead. Harry Kane came on in the 60th minute to score and assist Serge Gnabry's goal. Sacha Boey assisted for Kane's. We saw Thomas Muller exit a Bundesliga match for the final time with a standing ovation from both the home and away fans. Finally, Danny spends some more time reminiscing on the Bundesliga season as a whole, it wasn't perfect, but it was overall very good. Vincent Kompany and co. did what they set out to do this year and bring the Meisterschale back to Munich. We spend some time looking at what's next with the Club World Cup next month. Then, we talk about some upcoming transfer news and contract discussions regarding Florian Wirtz, Jonathan Tah, and Leroy Sane. Finally, we talk some more about the storied career of Thomas Muller. Welcome in for another edition of the Morning Espresso from the SDH Network, brought to you by Oglethorpe University, Atlanta's premier undergraduate learning experience and soccer powerhouse.Carlo Ancelotti will be taking over the Brazilian national team, the first time they have had a permanent foreign manager ever. He has a lot of work to do as Brazil is in a qualification spot for the 2026 World Cup, but it is not guaranteed. There are lots of questions about the squad at the moment, but defense is a glaring issue. Tite's teams gave up 30 goals from 2016-2022, the team has given up 31 goals since the start of 2023. One thing going for Brazil, the only time they won the World Cup as the favorite was in Chile in 1962. Even at that one, they had to overcome an injury to Pele that knocked him out of the tournament. Right now, they won't be a favorite in 2026.As the seasons wind down in Europe, silly season ramps up. It's even sillier because of the Club World Cup this summer as teams jockey to get spots filled ahead of the tournament while others look ahead to next season. Kevin De Bruyne is not a sure thing for the Chicago Fire at this point as Napoli want to bring him in. Jonathan Tah is expected to leave Bayer Leverkusen on a free transfer and join Bayern Munich. One of the players he is expected to replace is Eric Dier, who will leave on a free for Monaco in France, but maybe not until after the end of the Club World Cup as Bayern could do a short term contract with Dier for the tournament. His contract with Bayern ends on June 30, around the end of the group stage. On the manager front, Cesc Fabregas is going to stay at Como in Italy rather than replace Xabi Alonso at Leverkusen according to Italian reports. Erik Ten Hag has also been linked with the Leverkusen job. Davide Ancelotti is reportedly going to Glasgow to join Rangers as their new manager, following helping his father with the first two Brazil World Cup qualifiers in June. Two clubs in the Club World Cup also need new managers and both have been linked to the Argentine Gabriel Milito. Boca Juniors is likely the front runner to get him as he is in Buenos Aires currently. They are still in the Argentine playoffs and will host Independiente next in the quarterfinals. Monterrey also are linked with Milito, but TUDN has four other names in their sights. Matías Almeyda and Dome Torrent, both with MLS experience, are in the mix along with Argentines Hernán Crespo and Eduardo Domínguez (currently with Estudiantes). John Textor wants to convince Thiago Almada of returning to Botafogo for the Club World Cup but with Almada not having a break since the 2023-2024 MLS offseason, he is reluctant to do it. Technically, he's still a Botafogo player on loan to Lyon so things could get interesting. Textor owns both clubs and has some looming financial decisions to make surrounding all of his clubs. Pachuca won their first ever Liga MX Femenil title last night, 3-2 on aggregate over Club America. Their 3-0 lead from the first leg held up, even after losing 2-0 in the second leg. They will be part of the 2025 Concacaf W Champions Cup later this year. Full schedule in MLS tomorrow night. Atlanta United's match in Austin has been delayed by 30 minutes as the high temperature tomorrow is set to be 105. Stay tuned for any further changes. We'll be on the ground in Austin later today and be on the lookout for updates from the SDH Network and from our soccer coverage on 92.9 The Game. It's time for The Truth!Today, Sam and Dougie are looking at how Hansi Flick's slightly surprising appointment at Barcelona last summer has turned into a masterstroke, and how the German has immediately brought the Blaugrana back to the top table of European football with a string of youngsters and some of the most exciting attacking football on the continent. There were question marks about Flick after his ill-fated tenure with the German national team, but his record at club level speaks for itself. And yet, when he was appointed at Barcelona to replace Xavi last summer, there were plenty who felt that this could be a step in the wrong direction for a Barcelona side mired in debt and already one step behind fierce rivals Real Madrid, who had just won La Liga and the Champions League, and then gone out and signed Kylian Mbappé, who was widely considered the best player in the world. But Flick took Xavi's possession-orientated philosophy and made it more direct, more streamlined; put his faith in the youngsters emerging from La Masia; and turned good players into superstars - all whilst staying true to his own brand of football and putting perhaps the boldest style of football in Europe on display for all to see. So was this a stroke of luck that the players matched his philosophy, or has the former Bayern treble-winner worked his magic again on another squad willing to do whatever he needs for them to get to the very top? Well, The Truth is somewhere in the middle... And remember, if you'd like more from the Rank Squad, including extra podcasts every Monday and Friday (including our weekly Postbox taking a look at the whole weekend of football) and access to our brilliant Discord community, then why not join us here on Patreon?
