We Heroically Hunt down the most Goofy Gifts from a Goodwill. Plus, Patrick Mahomes Dad Drives Directly into another DWI Debacle. It's Delightful! In BEST TRENDS, Patrick Mahomes Sr. was arrested - again - for a DWI. We share our own experiences with DWIs (or is it DUI?), and try to make sense of all the acronyms. Also, we discuss the news that King Charles may have been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Kind of suck for the 'ole King... he's only been on the throne for about 18 months. And he had to wait forever to become King. We spend more time trying to understand what a prostate is, though. We share a video I did with comedian Steve Byrne where we got coffee colonics... talk about the UNC versus Duke basketball game, and how I'm going to be on this season of CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM. And what bothered me about the movie NAPOLEON? Listen and find out. And we also pay a visit to the local Olde Hickory Brewery and talk to it's Brew Master, while I also show a new commercial for my BBQ sauce. Plus, we play another round of GOODWILL HUNTING, where Marcus Stamos and I trade gifts we got each other from our local Goodwill store.Download and Listen to the CAROLINA REEPER with Jon Reep Podcast: https://link.chtbl.com/tbxIcLlT Come see Jon LIVE in concert: https://jonreep.com/tour-dates/ Visit the MERCH shop: https://www.jonreep.com/shop Find Jon online: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jonreep Twitter: https://twitter.com/JonReep Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jonreep/ Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jonreepcomedy Email: info@countryish.com #CarolinaReeper #JonReep #Allthingscomedy #SmallTownNews #Comedy #Podcast

The last meteorological month of summer begins this week, and it’s just the two of us to kick it off! We have a delectable wide span of treats from Sycamore, Wicked Weed, and Olde Hickory to boot! They are: Sycamore Luau Lemonade, Wicked Weed Coastal Love, and Olde Hickory Photon Sphere! We start the heavy news week with a double dose of MegaMergerMania! First up WOIO reports that Cleveland-based Platform Beer is joining AB InBev as its newest craft acquisition. Then The Mercury News reveals that a distributor buyout is causing over 1,000 employees to lose their jobs in the Bay Area and beyond. In happier news, Fortune shows that over 1,000 new craft breweries have opened in the past year, while Vox explores the rise of babies in bars, and Reuters (thanks Frank!) finds that India's capital has banned AB InBev for three years for alleged tax evasion. Next Forbes visits the largest celebration of women in craft beer, and then NBC examines a clean water case fermenting trouble for craft breweries and environmentalists. We then wind up with Thrillist heading to the US-Mexico border, where craft beer diplomacy is bringing brewers together! For last week’s #caskquiz we asked “do you think you are becoming less adventurous in trying new beers? If so, tell us why!” This week we want to know “when you visit a craft brewery, do you take the family? Just go with friends? Mix it up?” We so love hearing from you! This episode we got a behind the scenes look at the Untappd Beer Festival that took place at Bank of America Stadium. We give our thoughts on the festival as it’s happening and what we see can be better. We also sit down down with the BeerAdvocate.com brothers Jason and Todd Alstrom. These brothers have been in the beer game for a while and have one of the most frequented beer rating sites on the internet. We also talk with Gerard Littlejohn Executive Director of the Steve Smith Foundation about their role with the festival and in that same segment, Brandon Branscome of Incendiary Brewing talks about his brewery in Winston-Salem, NC. During the rain delay, we had the sales reps from Olde Hickory sit down and play a little wheel of content with us. Finally, we close out with our thoughts on this first year at The Untappd Beer Festival. We got a brief glimpse of our buddy Ryan Trask from Olde Hickory at the Holiday Spectacular… and now we have him for a whole show! Ryan shares the latest from western NC, plus the all-new canned offerings from the brewery, and a couple of thirst-quenchers: Death By Hops IPA (in cans!) and Small Batch IPA! The news exploded over the week! The biggest bomb dropped during the BIG GAME, summarized in The New York Times’ story on Bud Light picking a fight with corn syrup, Miller Lite & Coors Light in a Super Bowl ad! Next we have a craft beer version of MegaMergerMania from SFGate with the news that Sierra Nevada has acquired Sufferfest, the San Francisco brewer of gluten-removed beers, followed by The Daily Telegraph’s sky-is-falling piece claiming that the UK craft beer bubble is bursting. We wind down the week with SF Weekly profiling a prominent San Francisco craft beer bar with two women at the helm and Food & Wine revealing that historic Belgian brewer Rodenbach will make its first-ever collaboration beer with Dogfish Head! Last week we asked you “what brews did you serve this year for the BIG GAME?” and now we are dying to hear “what do you think about A-B’s latest ad capers - brilliant marketing? Loserville? Meh? Does corn even bother anyone?” We so love hearing from you! We are delighted to welcome back our old friend and colleague Ryan Trask from one of our favorite NC brewers, Olde Hickory! Ryan reveals all the news from western NC and has a cooler full of terrific beers for us: Summer Sonker, Oktoberfest, Auxo, and Imperial Stout! The news begins with a pair of stories from who else, VinePair! First up is a terrific thought piece that proposes craft beer was built on an us-versus-them ethos and now it’s tearing us apart. The second reveals five things no one wants to say about Italian craft beer. Then we pivot to Science Daily (thanks Bill D!) reporting on scientists who have debuted a super-insulating gel made from beer waste! Next Food & Wine shows us the most popular category at this year’s GABF, and we close with The Cincinnati Enquirer’s visit to an Ohio craft beer hotel! We have your answers to last week’s #caskquiz “does it matter if A-B InBev is the biggest craft beer producer?” This week we ask “what’s your take on ownership with all the different structures? Are you an us or them partisan?” We so love hearing from you! After the Easter mayhem and in celebration of the opening of baseball season, we take a seat at the bar and unwind with our friends Frank and Keith while trying a trio of deliciousness from Olde Hickory, Southern Tier, and Wicked Weed! They are Olde Hickory Thallo, Southern Tier Wrinkle in the Fabric, and Wicked Weed Incandescent! There is more sad news from California to lead us off this week from The San Diego Union-Tribune in that Green Flash has been sold following foreclosure. Next up VinePair asks if a craft brewery can sell out without being bought, while Punch reveals how Other Half became the official beer of Wall Street, and Esquire reports that Budweiser and Jim Beam are making a beer together. We wind down in the sports world with Bunkered disclosing that Augusta National security has handed out a forbidden 'phrase' sheet for The Masters and The WaPo advising that you don’t freak out about the Nationals’ $16 craft draft beer! Then we have your responses to last week’s #caskquiz which asked “do you have a regular pub or watering hole that you frequent several times a week? Or do you usually consume at home?” and this week we want to know “what is the most you have paid for a beer at a concert or sporting event?” We so love hearing from you!
