Miquita Oliver is a podcaster, TV presenter and all-round brilliant woman. She was just 16 when she burst onto our screens co-hosting Channel 4's cult music show Popworld alongside Simon Amstell. Twenty-five years later, she's still one of Britain's most distinctive broadcasters and interviewers. She co-created Miss Me?, with Lily Allen, and now co-hosts it with musician Jordan Stephens of Rizzle Kicks. You may also know Miquita from the acclaimed BBC series The Caribbean with Andi and Miquita, in which she and her mother, Andi Oliver, travelled to Antigua to reconnect with their family, heritage and identity. We talk about Miquita surviving the 2004 tsunami in Thailand, the shame she associates with going bankrupt, her struggle with alcoholism in her thirties, love, family, and why she still can't quite conquer her driving theory test. She even opens up about her hopes and fears around motherhood. This is an essential conversation for any one who survived the noughties diet culture or who has grappled with financial hardship. Frank, funny and unexpectedly moving: just like Miquita herself. Send us Fan MailAmerica turns 250 this 4th of July, and we're celebrating with Evan Williams' brand new America250 commemorative lineup — the 1783 Small Batch and the seriously strong Single Barrel, bottled at 117.76 proof and dipped in blue wax to match the Statue of Liberty on the label. In this episode, we taste both bottles side by side, break down what makes each one worth (or not worth) the price tag, and dig into the real story behind the name on the label. Evan Williams is marketed as "Kentucky's first distiller" — but the history is way murkier than the bottle wants you to believe. We get into what historians actually say about the man, the legend, and how a 1957 marketing decision turned into one of the best-selling bourbon brands in the world.Bottles featured:

Episode 447 of Boss Hog of Liberty is available now. Host voices are Jeremiah Morrell, Bones Harcourt, and Zachary Burcham. Local entrepreneur Lee Marcum joins us as he launches his new company, Fresh Line Coffee Co. It is focused on getting customers high quality coffee beans immediately after they are roasted. They ship from central Indiana and the flavor names tell a bit of the story, “Still Standing”, “The Comeback”, “Legacy”, and “Fresh Start”. The company promotes that tomorrow always comes, and there are always second chances. In the local segment, we note that the Dunreith fire department and the town of Dunreith have apparently not come to terms on a future contract, and fire services for the community are likely to be different for 2027. Perhaps one of the top three stories in Dunreith history, behind the train derailment and the Goodyear Blimp getting caught in power lines. The Knicks won the NBA title, Carolina Hurricanes are NHL champs. World Cup fever is hitting America as most have fallen in love with the Scottish and the way they drank Boston out of beer. Miami better be prepared for their arrival. IndyCar moves on to Road America, IndyCar owner Dennis Reinbold passed away, and Scott Dixon might be on the move from Chip Ganassi Racing? Host of the Kennedy Saves the World podcast crashes the studio in her national team jersey to break down the funniest cultural shockwaves hitting the World Cup! From international tourists losing their minds over air conditioning and free chips and salsa to rowdy Scottish fans literally drinking the entire city of Boston out of beer, she and Brian expose how the world is secretly falling in love with the real America. Scotland's Tartan Army showed up to the 2026 World Cup in Boston — and drank the entire city dry. Sam Adams says its Boston Taproom sold four times as much beer as on a typical Fourth of July weekend, forcing an emergency Saturday-morning delivery just to keep kegs flowing. One bar tripled its St. Patrick's Day sales. Another ran out of everything. Also, Dallas police got called on rowdy Brits and a Japanese fan who can't speak English but is living his best World Cup life. Is the World Cup actually uniting the world? Then — Kevin Bacon is temporarily changing his name to Kevin "Bean." We explain why. The comment section has questions we need to confront — specifically about Doug the chinchilla's burial. Plus: Senator Curtis is going on a long walk for America 250, and we still want to ask about his hair. Do you get the ick when women drive men around? And a guy on social media is eating at Chinese restaurants until he gets food poisoning — is that genius marketing or just unhinged? KSL Brightside streams live weekdays 12–3 PM. Joe responds to common objections to alcohol that some Christians make, and cites history and the Bible to show that moderate drinking is ok. Transcript: Joe: Welcome back to Shameless Popery. I’m Joe Heschmeyer. Is it okay for followers of Jesus Christ to drink alcohol even in moderation? Broadly speaking, Christians fall into two camps. Those who say moderate drinking is okay as long as you don’t get drunk and those who say Christians should never drink alcohol. So should we preach moderation or should we preach tea totalism that is total abstinence with a capital T? Now, if you ...

In the Gabor Maté interview, Dave and Dr. Maté talk addiction, trauma, shame, ADD, dopamine, recovery, psychedelics, ayahuasca, the “stupid friend,” food addiction, and why addiction is not the primary problem but an attempt to soothe pain.
