Dawson is ready to go back to school…film school but this time in Boston with the rest of the gang. This means that he and Jen are becoming closer and closer and more and more in love. So in love that Jen is in fear of losing her radio show. Jack is in major trouble with the school and we learn what the frat really thinks of him. And the biggest storyline of all in this episode is Joey and Professor Wilder crossing a gross and huge ethical line.
Well, this episode of Dawson's Creek wasn't any fun at all. We struggle with this one and with that, I struggle to write a synopsis for this episode. LOL! I guess a little bit of drama is that Jen and Dawson are becoming closer through therapy. She's been there and done that and now she's helping Dawson navigate his way through it. Pacey feels the need to be a knight in shining armor and save Karen from herself. And Joey is just figuring out her way through the Rose Lazar project with not-hot Professor Wilder.
So while we may be a little confused by the title of this episode we've got a lot of important items to discuss. Cyndi has major beef with the agenda that Dawson's Creek is trying to force onto us that Professor Wilder is a hottie. Dawson is cracking a little bit because he's not dealing with his father's death. Jack is distracted by the fraternity and Toby & Jen are pissed about it. We get a lovely display of gaslighting from Charlie when his and Jen's relationship hits a bit of tension but Jen may have been right to trust her instincts. But the major question on all of our minds is where is the brie???
Happy #Friday Creek Talkers!
In this episode of the ChinaPower Podcast, we are joined by Professor Xin Qiang and Professor Dennis Wilder to discuss how the U.S. and China could manage potential crises from elevated military activities. Both speakers emphasize that tensions between the U.S. and China are at a new high due to increased levels of strategic competition and neither side is well-prepared to handle a military collision or accident. Professor Wilder explains quiet diplomacy is critical for managing crises and cultural differences between the U.S. and China should always be considered in order to prevent miscommunication. Professor Xin notes that U.S. military activity to challenge normal Chinese military exercises are viewed differently than U.S. activities to challenge PRC activities aimed at countering “sensitive” U.S. or Taiwan activities. The latter would be viewed as much more hostile by the Chinese side. On an ending note, they both agree that the establishment of communication channels are essential to de-escalate potential future crises. Xin Qiang is the Inaugural Director of the Center for Taiwan Studies and Deputy Director of the Center for American Studies at Fudan University. He is currently a visiting fellow at Paul Tsai China Center, Yale Law School and conducting research on how to manage turbulent Taiwan issue amid intensifying US-China Strategic Competition. Dennis Wilder is a Professor and Senior Fellow for the Initiative for U.S.-China Dialogue on Global Issues at Georgetown University, where he previously served as the managing director. Prior to this, he served as the Deputy Assistant Director for East Asia and the Pacific for the Central Intelligence Agency from 2015 to 2016. He also was the Director for China as well as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for East Asian Affairs at the National Security Council.

Also, about the cast of Dawson's Creek (sometimes).Season 5, Episode 16 - “In a Lonely Place”From HBO Max: As Joey is forced to face up to her feelings for Professor Wilder, Jen and Pacey get some unexpected advice on romance from a pair of touring musicians.
Look out world, Dawson's making himself a movie! And while Kim can't stop touching the microphone (sorry friends - I didn't know I was doing it), that's the least of Zazz's issues with this episode. Come for the episode, stay for the oddly long conversation about Limp Bizkit, and not enough conversations about Notting Hill.Season 5, Episode 14 - “Guerilla Filmmaking”From HBO Max: As Dawson struggles to direct a classmate's script, Joey confronts her own feelings about Professor Wilder.

Traci and Charles talk a lot about what's in their head canons as Joey officially ends things with Professor Wilder, Dawson and Jen encounter some potentially bumpy waters ahead, and Pacey and Jack go out.
In this part 1 of 2 episodes, apparently (yep, that means "Downtown Crossing" is coming up): Dawson directs Oliver's movie (that we still don't entirely understand), Joey gets closer to Professor Wilder, and Jack leaves the frat house...
Charles' nightmare comes to life as Joey and Professor Wilder get a liiiiiittle too close for comfort. Also, Dawson starts college (again), Jen loses her edge, and Jack is on academic probation. Who knew it'd be up to Pacey to be the adult in the room?
Joey sings, Pacey and Audrey get new(ish) jobs, and trouble is brewing in Capeside as Dawson and Jen get into their first fight but then resolve things pretty quickly. Mainly, Charles is relieved that this isn't an episode about Joey and Professor Wilder, but is a Joey/Charlie pairing really any better?
Dawson goes to therapy, Joey shines in her research group, and Pacey plays the moral compass. Meanwhile, Traci and Charles talk about the law (but we're not a legal podcast) as Charles rants about his dislike for Chef Danny and Professor Wilder.
We're back! And still very sad :( Everyone's relationships are falling apart and Dawson is having anxiety attacks. But at least Professor Wilder's got a fun project going on.
Our guest this week is Dennis Wilder...a former Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for East Asian Affairs at the National Security Council, he now teaches at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. He joins us to talk about North Korea. What will a possible summit between the United States and North Korea look like? Professor Wilder explains the history, the issues, and offeres advice to President Trump as both sides plan for these potentially historic negotiations. Learn more about your ad choices. Craig Steven Wilder, Massachusetts Institute of TechnologyUFT Headquarters, Bronx, NYMay 24, 2011Craig Steven Wilder, professor of history at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, speaks to New York City teachers about the influence of school districting on the racial segregation of Brooklyn neighborhoods. Building on data from his book A Covenant with Color: Race and Social Power in Brooklyn (2000) Professor Wilder describes the evolution of residential segregation as a direct result of the intentional segregation of urban schools, which pre-dated the public housing policies that maintained residential segregation in northern cities for the greater part of the 20th century. This talk was delivered on May 24th, 2011, at the United Federation of Teachers headquarters in the Bronx, New York.
