Fashion might not seem of utmost importance right now, but it really is a piece of who you are. Wearing the right clothes can bring more of you to the surface and help you be more YOU! Having been in fashion for over 10 years, our guest Reachel Bagley knows a thing or two (or a hundred) about fashion. Currently, she helps people discover their fashion profile and how to match their inside self to their outside self. Reachel helps people know their body type so they can hone in on the clothes that will work best on their body. In this episode, she teaches how to show respect for ourselves though the clothes we wear. She shares how to go through your closet and pare down your wardrobe to decide what fits and what you love. Bottom line: she emphasizes that clothes aren’t a diary and we don’t need to keep everything from the past. Instead, we should honor where we are in our journey, thus being more intentional about what is in our closet. SPONSOR: Save 10% at shinecosmetics.com with the code BECKY. I'm delighted to share with you my chat with Reachel Bagley. We met 8 years ago at a park in Arizona, and haven't seen each other since, but we've interacted online, as she shares wardrobe strategies as she helps others clean out their closets and minds at @CardiganEmpire. We talk about how she met her husband, adoption, surprise pregnancy, and how our job as parents is to create a safe environment for our children, as our children are pre-programmed with their own agenda. We also discussed the commitment of TIME for our children is so much more of a foundation than opportunities presented with money. >>>Our episode this week is sponsored by Living Scriptures. A great online resource for streaming children's video and clean movies. Sign up for a month trial to see if it's for you! Reachel's favorite parenting books we discussed are: The Whole-Brain Child and Raising Human Beings
I interviewed Reachel last spring for my Happy Healthy Mom Summit, and I’m excited to share it with you here on the podcast. Reachel is an expert on fashion, style, and clothes, but she also has such a great perspective on body image and how to use your clothes to feel better about yourself. Good clothes should actually make you focus less on your appearance, leaving you free to do what really matters to you. I hope you find some useful ideas in our conversation! "I have worth and it isn’t always looking to the external to try to find validation, because that’s an endless competition that you’re never going to win. It doesn’t bring any happiness." Reachel Bagley is not your normal "fashion blogger." Sure, she has a fabulous sense of style--one that you're going to salivate over. But Reachel loves fashion because of what it can do to really transform someone's confidence, to help them feel more empowered to face their lives and their trials. She loves to really teach her clients and her followers what colors, cuts, and fits look best on their bodies, not just show her own polished outfits. (One of her mantras is: it's not that you aren't fitting into your clothes, it's that your clothes aren't fitting YOU.) Reachel knows what it is like to lack confidence, and in a really dark way. Her own sense of pride and love of her body took a beating after years of infertility. She saw her body as something to be punished, not loved, because of the way she saw it hurting her. But 10 years later and after a lot of work, Reachel has earned that love and acceptance of her body because she knows who she really is at her core. She knows that our worth isn't dependent on a size or a number on the scale--it's innate, and it will never change. Listen to learn about how Reachel came about this transformation, what she hopes to inspire in others, how she views fashion as a tool, how she got her start and developed her business into what it is today, and much more. Daniel, Ash and Reachel cover the new series of The X Factor, Taylor Swift and the female re-imagining of'Lord of the Flies'.
